I have always had a latex allergy, however I have always been able to eat bananas.
After a few days of being very ill, I gave in and made some rice and veggie broth and felt almost instantly better. In the past being sick I would go on banana island and the cold would go away very quickly. This time it just kept getting worse, and oddly I'd feel pretty good in the morning and horrible at night (reverse of norm for me)
Two weeks with no bananas, I gave them a shot again.....
Under 10 bananas a day I have no reaction, around 12 I get gross cold like symptoms, around 15 I start having trouble breathing.... So now I know why I was so sick having 26 of them a day.
I do not have a reaction to mango or avocado at all, did 6 days of mango island and felt amazing.
With all that said, Aside from a watermelon a day for breakfast, does anyone offer any suggestion on staying HCLFrv while eating little to no bananas? I have a feeling the summer is going to be easy and come fall I will start to run out of new ideas (as I am also allergic to apples). More than one person has suggested adding one meal of rice or corn pasta a day into the mix to get the fullness bananas offer, I'm open to opinions here!!

I feel your pain my boyfriend is allergic to a lot of fruit. he usually eats oranges, grapefruit, and dates and he tries to eat more veggies inbetween bc its harder for him to get the calories in. but he never gets sick :)
Wish I knew what I know now, back then.
same here...
What you could try is freezing or drying some of your fruit to store for the winter if you're in a colder climate. Before moving to California from Wash. State, this helped heaps through the transition!
Yeah this must be terrible to deal with. I have had a lot of problems with food, but thank God with raw fruits and vegetables I have very little issues...
You're allergic to what foods altogether? Is it normal to be allergic to fruit? It seems like a fruit or vegetable allergy could be very serious because it is basically the building blocks of all food...
