I've been eating 100% low-fat, raw vegan for more than a year now. I'm also taking my family along this journey with me. They still have the occasional steamed veggie or baked sweet potato once or twice a week, but at least they're 95% raw. Celebrations can sometimes be challenging. Here's what we did for my daughter's 9th birthday.Party Pictures Blog

LOVE it! Thanks so much for the ideas/pictures/instructions! I have been looking since our birthday season is about to start.
I see you are in OH. I'm originally from Cincinnati. You?
Hi Dave! I had to ask someone who worked in my local produce department if they had full-sized melons. I thought maybe they had some in back since they sold bowls of fresh melon. I was told that they did and that I would be able to purchase one. They even let me in the back to pick out my own melon. I was so excited to get a LARGE seeded watermelon this time of year. Hopefully you can find one on your birthday!!!
I'm not familiar with the Stark family. I have an aunt who lives in Montgomery. I grew up in North Central Alabama, close to Huntsville. I spent several years of my life in Cullman, which is about 60 miles north of Birmingham.
this looks fabulous and I can understand that people did not want to touch the melon cake at first. i love your blogpost since it gives a great insight and real close into a raw birthday. This inspires me to make a fruit birthday cake for my daughter next week.
Thank you so much for sharing
