  • thanks! can't wait to start :)
    • You really should consider reading the book, all these common questions are clearly answered and may help you in other areas.

Dr. Graham does uses this banana island plan to help people transition also(not in the book).
Week 1: bananas only and nothing else
Week 2: bananas and lettuce/celery only together or mono
Week 3: 2 mono fruit meals, then a 3rd mono fruit meal followed by a salad(no dressing)
Week 4: same as 3 but with simple added styled 8/1/1 type dressings

Do not improvise whatsoever at all to get the full benefit of the 4 week plan.
      • thank you tanawana. i do have the 811 book, guess i need to read it again. thanks for the 4 week plan.
  • i've been struggling with 811rv (getting started) and i'm so excited to learn about banana island! i think this may be just the ticket to deal with my sensitivities to the fruit i've been eating and help calm my system and get me on track. I'm starting tomorrow!!!!!!

just a quick question though, i saw on nutridiary that bananas don't have calcium, will i be getting enough calcium from my greens? would anyone recommend a calcium supplement for the duration of my stay on the island?
    THANKS!!!!
  • Yeh gurl!! Good for you!
  • Yay! I cannot wait to hear about all of the results you will get!

  • I am going to start this on Monday as I have some other fruits and veggies I want to use up. I am not yet an 811'er so will I be able to do this successfully? I really need to buy the book! Anyone have one they don't need anymore? ha ha, yeah right! Just bananas and water thats it right? No tea, no nothing, right? I am going to do this!! YEA!
    • Hi Ruby,
Of course you can do this, I believe in you! I was not an 811'er 8 days ago and since then i have eaten nothing but bananas and water. It is hard for the first few days but you start to feel really great after that. I did this as a transition into low fat raw and it has already shown so many positives that it just makes so much sense to eat this way. Like Jess said we're all here to support you. I'm off to orange island tomorrow :-)
      Good luck

    • Heya Ruby,
Of course you can do this successfully! I reccomend going to nurtidiary.com and logging in how many narnas u eat each day and such so that you can see how many calories you need to keep up with your lifestyle energy-wise. Nope, no tea. You can have tender leafy greens along with the bananas like I did if you like.
Good luck, you will have a lot of support here while you do it! :)
      xx
