My daughter has been sick off and on since mid Dec. I have trusted her body to know what to do to heal, sometimes these things take time. However, I'm not the only parent. So I took her to the doctor back in Jan. But they wouldn't see her because I don't vaccinate. Didn't bother me much, I didn't want their bad advice anyways!
Then I got an appointment with a doctor who is sort of in the middle of Traditional and holistic practice.
I had high hopes that this Doc would be wiser in natural hygiene then a completley traditional doctor would be. That got blown out the window when upon hearing my daughter was a vegetarian he asked
"Where does she get her protein?"
I told him protein was in everything. He disagreed with me. I told him that yes indeed, protein was in everything even lettuce and bananas.
He said perhaps, but not enough.
It was at that point I realized it was a no win situation. So instead of going into the 6% of calories in mothers milk is protein spill, I just said beans and nuts. He was satisfied with that.

Well, you don't say what your daughter has been sick with so it is hard to say if you should take the doctor's advise. Most sicknesses don't occur because one is low in protein so that question is irrelevant. If she has been just getting the common cold or flu, I would say up the vitamin D she is getting. If you live in a northern climate (like I do), then you will need to be supplementing with vitamin D (2000-5000IU), daily. Since my doctor told me about Vitamin D, I haven't been sick in over 3 years.
Hope this helps
Why debate with rednecks. Just go to get what you need and go. Talk about football with 99% of Doctors! Not nutrition!
In this instance you would know more than the doc's Gretta. Do you what you know is right.
Ask the doctor if you can show you what he ate for the last 3 days.
Remember the key is to answer a question with a question. ;-)
and then you share what you ate.
Without telling him ask if he has a computer download crono program and punch in his and your data and then let him slide under his rock.
Buy DR. Grhamas 80-10-10 food chart it breaks down most foods.
Ask if he knows how much protein is in a banana?
Then slam the doctor with facts.
Take Care,
Gretta,
If you want some of the food break downs let me know.
I can type some out here for you on the chart I have.
Glad your not afraid to do what is right for you and your child.
as they say knowledge is power.
Or you can simply not go back which would be the easiest thing to do.
Take Care,
