And I work outside!!! They said normal was 30-50, so I am definitely low. The fact that I work outside and am that low is weird and all I can think is that if I get my calcium up and sunbath with more regularity, my Vitamin D should shoot right up. Do yr Vitamin D levels vary, say week to week? Could it just be that it was a cloudy week? Issac's storms had been in town for a week or so! Am getting ready to research the whole calcium:phosophorous relationship and calcium on it's own. Many people on here say that they get enough from their diets but mine is def deficient (have a spot under a nail). But 1,000 mg/day, for real? From where I sit, that is a lot! I am considering supplementing calcium and increasing sunbaths till I get it all straightened out. This is my first blood panel in three yrs, four months of raw, 6 mo 811. Any input would be appreciated! :)

I am still confused but need to do more research. Not sure what '30-74 ng/ml' of Vit D means- am also wondering about the calium/Vit D relationship as well as the 1,000 mg of calcium I either am supposed to be getting or am not supposed to be getting every day. Sunbathed for 25 minutes in the Tennessee sun today :) I don't usually agree with the RDA from the FDA, etc., but am having trouble figuring out the calcium needs versus the Vit D needs. Should I be concerned about zinc, too?
Sounds awesome! Thanks!
According to Wikipedia there are differing opinions on what the normal range of Vitamin D is, some say 30-74 ng/ml, others 8-60 ng/ml. If your under-eating on greens I suggest that's a possible reason for your lower Vitamin D score, as one of its principle roles is to pull Calcium in from the gut. Not that I'm a bio-chemist or anything like that!
Doesnt matter if you work outside. What matters is how much direct sun you get on your body overall. I see a lot of my friends regardless of diet get pale from too much lack of full body sun.
Sorry but a spot under a nail is NOT a calcium deficiency lol!
Thats like saying cos someone got a pimple on their back that they are on steroids. Or cos they tripped over a gutter that they have parkinsons.
I am basing the low Vitamin D on the blood panel. I have a 14 and don't know how long it's been low or even a whole lot about VitD/Cal/phosophorus. The spot under my nail is something I have always been told was low calcium. Knowing that you don't agree makes me wonder why you don't agree.
