I desperately need an alternative to real butter. It has to taste exactly like it. I'm stumped as far as it goes. My son told me Nutlex tastes like crap (sorry) so I don't really feel great about using that one for my needs (work)
What other ones are there?

We love Earth Balance, and also coconut oil. But if you don't want to deal with either of those, what about something like butter flavoring? It's in the baking aisle next to the vanilla and almond extracts. Although I have no idea what it's made out of it might be just what hits the spot?
Even plant based butters are not the best for your body because they are basically pure oil, BUT when I first went vegan, I used Smart Balance Organic Buttery Spread. Big name and it's totally vegan, which most people don't know.

How about cashew butter? I make my own - just raw unsalted cashews blended in a food processor.
How about really ripe bananas?
There are a host of vegan science experiment faux butters on the market, though they're full of strange ingredients.
Ditto the avo recommendations.
I personally love using avocado as a butter replacement, but my friend uses coconut oil.
Hope that helps. x
maybe you could experiment with avocado or young coconut flesh - blending it and adding different ingredients such as himalayan salt, maybe a little bit of almond milk to reach the desired taste
