Hi,
I came across a Date farmer's site that listed many other date farmers and why they were not truly raw. I can't seem to find it at the moment, and before continuing my search or going with one of the suppliers I know, (which I might anyways due to positive past relationship and being able to ask him upfront about his current practices and the 'accusation'), I thought I'd enlist you all/see if any of you know of whom I speak. The page listed at least 10 other date companies that claimed to be raw, yet his chart indicated practices ranging from steaming, to spraying, to flash pasteurizing, you name it.
In addition, please feel free to share some recommendations here. Time's change, and an updated date sourcing thread could be useful. If you are a date farmer, feel free to share here as well.
Thanks.

Hey Indra! :)
You can test for rawness by putting a piece in hydrogen peroxide and if it bubbles it is raw. I have not tested my dates for a few years now but I have some now from Bautista and from Shield's. I'll test them tonight.
Cool tip, does that work for any other kinds of food?
it works for everything
