  • I thought that I would bump this for any newbies who haven't seen it yet.

Just the thing to inspire anyone who is still on the fence.
    • Someone said 'what about Mango?' Well Mango had root canals and some dental issues before he even got into the whole fruit eating world. Mango was actually the first person I heard about raw eating from. It was in 2001 and I read an article he wrote in Vegan Voice. It planted a seed and then a year later I read Paul Nisons book 'raw life' and in that book learned about Doug.

All 3 of have had a positive influence in my life even if I do give Mango and Paul a hard time for undereating! :)
  • Really enjoyed the bit on excuses...too true and very funny ;)
  • I wrote about teeth care here.
How to Care For Teeth on a Raw Diet
Stop the cavities! Care for teeth in a way that will make dentists superfluous.
  • IT seems a little strange to me since....from what I know....which may be very wrong.....urine is just mostly water, a little urea, and even less of mineral or something else??? some bacteria too? *shrugs*
I got poison oak all over my legs once and put my urine on it. I read that native americans did it and it is helpful. I really did not notice much help..... I dunno. It just seems wierd to consume what your body is letting out as waste....but then again certain animals like rodents (beavers, rats, rabbits, etc.) eat their fecal material (poop). They redigest it in order to get all the nutrition they can from it (volitile fatty acids, vitamins, minerals, microbial protein, etc.). Sooooo I guess it isnt all that strange in the animal kingdom.
Can anyone say where this practice originated or is still done or done the most?
    Thanks.
  • in my experience, the damned glycerine in toothpaste forms a coating that prevents recalcification... I am actually tryna fill in a couple decalcifications right now, and the key is not letting acid sit on the teeth (and not coatin' em w glycerine). If I eat lemons and don't rinse w baking soda water, my teeth will get f***** up!! So I brush and rinse w baking soda twice a day.. once if I'm not going anywhere special :) from what I've read, our teeth are living creatures that can get a lot done fer healin if we clean em smart and leave em be!!
    • my mum totally cured her arthritis after only a week as a vegan. but she wanted her dead animals and cheese so she got the arthritis back. im with mums now and havent seen her for 5 years. her health is real bad. can hardly walk a few metres without pain in her hip. she is same height as me and weighs 85kg. im 64kg. we walked around the block and every few metres she stopped and was puffing. she says she needs her meat and dairy cos ''we evolved to eat it''..

hardest thing about 811 isnt initial cravings or learning calories its actually watching our loved ones rip apart their lives for the sake of a 10 second taste sensation involving animal death and exploitation..

i didnt believe in ''animals revenge'' but now i see it clearly..
      • Yeah, I agree. Its very sad seeing loved ones in pain while there is a way to heal.
I see when I look at my grandparents, they complainig a lot, eating meat and relying on drugs. Its sad, but I am happy as well cos they respect what I do, and they eat healthier now, and I am happy cos there are many of us who consciously live our life and this way others may find their healing as well. At least I believe in this :)

My teeth are ok, my skin better, if I eat greens they clean my teeth better than toothpaste :)
Its my favourite vid btw. :)

"Does Fruit Rot your teeth??" Well I just have 20 bananas, what do you think? :)

        peace
    • I am not sure what you mean by shivambu. Is it just your own personal urine?

      thanks.
  • what about grains fermenting between the teeth? or phosphoric acid in soft drinks. it's all acid in the end isn't it? or maybe there's the abrasiveness of cooked and dehydrated foods. and maybe there's the fats sticking to your teeth and going rancid and maybe giving off acids. or maybe just acids eminating up from your lower digestive organs and condensing on your teeth. lovely.
