For some reason its important for me to be physically fit and perform good deeds. I don't want to get stuck working for some evil mega corporation just to make ends meet.

I find it difficult to achieve these goals because it takes a lot of willpower to be physically fit, I've developed some bad habits over the years, and I feel like I'm no fun to hang out with. My friends are like lets play video games all night long like we used to. I'm like no, I want to be healthy.

To top it off, that's what I feel like doing, playing video games all night long. Yet, I know I got in my situation from doing just that. I have to change if I want to achieve my goals.

I find it hard to perform good deeds in the world, because I am constantly just trying to keep up. When I get downtime I really have to battle myself not to just play video games for 12 hours + a day. Between my work and battling myself, I rarely have the willpower nor energy for much else.

On some level I just want to grab four dozen non-vegan donuts and watch television and play video games all day long. Some may call this lazy, but I call it truthful, since the desire is present whether or not I follow my whim.

Dang it, how do the rest of the 30bananasaday members resist just eating non-vegan doughnuts and loafing around all day? Sounds silly, but its really tempting.

  • step 1.

get new friends who don't have bad habits

    step 2.

start or rediscover a new fun healthy hobby or sport - good way to find friends

    step 3.

every now and then after a long tiring day, make a batch of vegan donuts (there are literally thousands of recipes) and eat them all or share them with friends and play video games and watch movies

youre probably really fun to hang out with to healthy people.

I used to have your problem until I did the above, now I hate sitting and the taste of animal products. give it time, and get some support. :)

    • It's always a hard and scary step to take. You could take it slowly, join some new clubs or sports groups, find new friends that you like then slowly make the transition, or if you're really motivated, move house/job and start over. You of course don't have to give your old life up completely! Everyone can sit around doing nothing once in as while. Good to hear you're doing more climbing, that'll help.
    • Still having trouble with step 1, lol. "get new friends who don't have bad habits"

      step 2.

start or rediscover a new fun healthy hobby or sport - good way to find friends

      I have been climbing more.

  • I think the biggest factor to not wanting non vegan food is to watch the hard truth documentaries, earthlings, forks over knives and cowspiracy. Once you resonate with the animals suffering and realize those doughnuts are a product of their suffering it should help you be less tempted?

I've never had a problem craving non vegan food because frankly, it disgusts me and I know that no amount of good tastes compare to the worth of an animals life. Make sure you're eating enough carbs too, thats vital to combat the cravings.  Beyond that, there are soo0o0o0o many veg alternatives now!!

If you live somewhere that this stuff is hard to come by  you can make your own! It all comes down to making choices that are going to empower you rather than make you feel like shit ie: eating non vegan food and vegging (heh) out all day. Keep in mind it takes at least 21 days to break bad habits! You said you feel unfun cause you're not interested in the things your friends want to do, so it sounds like you need to take some time to yourself and find new activities that YOU like!

If you're not sure where to begin just google something like "new fun hobbies" or see what events are going on in your town/ city you might like. It all begins at the end of your comfort zone, cliche but true! Good luck!!
