That puts me in obese range. I have struggled with weight and food issues my entire life. From when i was a kid in school not packing food then coming home and binging, Then becoming a teen and able to buy my own junk food and binging on food even more. I have tried plant based and vegan diets in the past but never stuck to it long term. Im so uncomfortable getting chaffing and being over weight. One other thing, i had a knee reconstruction few years back due to sports related injury, i put on heaps of weight and had to retrain my leg to move. I also currently have sciatica pain but has gotten better over the years, and recently got diagnosed with planter fasciitis which hurts alot but is getting better.

I wanted to join this forum because i dont really have support in the real world. I want to get healthy so i can live longer and not be one of those obese people dying young. I have started a tiktok food diaries, instagram and youtube channel called Skitters Lunch Box. I am on a big journey and I really want to be the best version of myself and live up to my morals of loving nature, myself and animals. I hope you will join me on my journey to better health :)

Howdy folks, I have hit a point in my life that I realize something must change. For background I have battled addiction through my early adult life and now have many years without drug use. Through the defeat of one demon came another and I realize my health has suffered. Although I do have great things going on in my life now like being at the homestretch of finishing my degree and teaching credential there are other things that suffered I gained 65 pounds in the past 5 years (15 has been lost since the tail end) and I cant even run a half mile without having to stop. I just don’t want to be defeated by poor dietary and life choices. Also, I transferred to CSUN (a university) during the pandemic and therefore have not had opportunity to meet peers in my area that I can just enjoy life with. So while I am using this period of isolation to better myself now I would like to find people to add in my corner and people I can support as well.
-Aaron

I pray my health and behavior changes will hopefully bring them over there, but right now, I'm focusing on caring for me. That being said...

I seem to go into a mild Anaphylaxis (tongue swelling, itchy throat and ears, etc) whenever I eat bananas or any pitted fruit (peaches, cherries, dates, plums, etc...) This is harsh for me because I LOVE fruit and I am wondering if my allergy is just simply from decades of poor health and eating, along with all the crap they add in foods these days. Can an allergy like this be reversed? I would love to hear stories about this because I'm not going down without a fight. I WANT to eat these fruits....

I am also throwing up a disclaimer right now that anyone commenting on this is not a doctor, nor is giving any information on cures. I am desperate to eat healthier, and I feel freaking defeated whenever I try to eat this fruit. :(

Thanks in advance! :D

Bridget

I am a spiritual, 34 year old female from Norway and have been vegan and raw till 4 since 2015. I have had a dream about building a fruit paradise for many years. I have been traveling around looking for a place, and there has been bumps along the way. I would like to check out Nicaragua for a potential spot, but it would be so nice to create this place together with someone like-minded. The main plan is to buy some land, not to far from the ocean for surfing possibilities. Growing food, offgrid, have a river close by for water and cleaning would be awesome. Then in the future when we have enough food to share, welcome people who are sick and want to get well. Donationbased. Also maybe host retreats of different kinds.

I have candida and tried the high protein/fat diet. It works okay, but not 100%. I tried to convert over to this by doing low/no fats for a few days and then I switched over and on that day I ate greens for breakfast, 4 bananas for lunch, and greens for dinner. I was afraid to load up on fruit right away and I am glad I didn't. What I experienced was a major yeast outbreak and even felt it in my head/ears. I also had extreme anxiety and moodiness to the point I couldn't be at work. I saw a bunch of yeast in my stool which normally I do not. When I took out the fruit the next day everything settled.

What happened? I am not sure I can handle that experience again.

Also, as much as I would love to make this my lifestyle, I have severe reflux and gastritis. Unfortunately, fruit tends to irritate my esophagus/stomach. I understand this may be the best way to eliminate candida imbalance, but am not sure I can do it beyond a month or so because of the other issues. I also get low blood sugar very easily. If I get to a point where I can't eat so much fruit, can I switch over to low fat grains for a carb source and lower the fruit and sustain my results?

Beans: Can I still eat these raw? For example, soybeans, pinto, or black. But, instead of cook simply soak them and then eat?

2. Quinoa: Same with beans, I soak them then eat.

2. Corn Tortillas Chips: many raw food enthusiast use these in their recipes. I understand these are dehydrated or of that nature. Is this raw food valuable? I do enjoy the taste.

3. Corn tortillas raw: now these I have and have eaten without cooking. But, I am not sure if they are processed or what not.

4. Potatoes: Well you have to cook these, but how harmful is it if I have it once and awhile? I'm assuming this one I have to drop, but the calories it provides always feel good.

[Also I would like to know if it would harm me to slightly cook anyone of these items above.]

4. 30 Bananas a day?!: I can eat maybe 8 a day! They are rather cheap. I really really like bananas but, after 9 or so I feel as though my body doesn't care to eat anymore than that.

5: Do you guys eat hot peppers or onions? I feel like these foods upset my stomach, but they are definitely raw! I really enjoy guacamole but most of that stuff is made with jalapenos and onions (and I realize maybe other unnecessary things but, usually it is sound raw food).

Thank you for providing me with any assistance on this subject. Outline the details of your experience of why you think the way you do, as well, and it will allow me to make a better discernment.

Right now, I just eat and sense my body. HOWEVER, I must be going through some sort of detox process because no matter if I just drink water and eat fruit, my stomach slightly burns a bit. Just slightly. If I ate a pizza right now I'd be in visceral pain no doubt. So I want to know your perspectives. Thank you!

My name is Kai.

I think I found out about 80/10/10 about 5 or 6 years ago? I did a couple 30 day challenges, but ended up doing what is essentially what rawtill4 is now, because that's generally a little cheaper.

Then, life happened. I left my ex, who was a jerk (and would also lie to people and tell them he was vegan for "cool points" but then eat fish and chicken and cheese) and then, of course, I had to move. Then I didn't have much money for food, or any space to store fruits, so I had to start eating basically a vegan version of SAD. (Did you know Dollar Tree sells vegan veggie burgers in a box of 4 for $1? Very cringe-worthy, but at least I could stay vegan. I definitely would not recommend eating that stuff, though.)

Anyway, this part gets complicated, but to simplify it, I did meet someone better. He was basically everything I wanted in a relationship. Except... he was not healthy, at all. He smoked, drunk alcohol, started drinking coffee when he was 6, and ate SAD. Actually, probably ate something even worse than SAD, if you can imagine that. Imagine the box of 4 veggie burgers for $1.... except not vegan. I don't want to know what was in most of what he ate. Needless to say, he had some health problems, and some severe mental illnesses. (Severe depression and anxiety.)

Then I moved in with him!

Fast forward to today, we're married. I helped him get educated on his health. He no longer smokes or drinks, he gave up coffee, and is vegan! Most of his health problems are gone, too. (Including the mental ones) But... some of mine are back as a result of eating a lot of vegan junk food.

We are, however, a little bit better off now. Which is why I'm back here! I'm ready to get back on the raw wagon. (or at least rawtill4 to start out) And he is excited to join me!

I also noticed that it seems to have gotten really quiet here! What's up with that? Is there another forum somewhere, or does no one use forums anymore?
