Hello friends. In additon to enjoying hclfrv/vegan reference books, I am an avid reader of fiction and have found it annoying when the only vegan characters in books are depicted as unhealthy weirdos, eating unappetising food! Recently I did a search for books with vegan characters and came up with this short list.

https://bookshop.org/lists/vegan-fiction-books-about-vegans-and-books-for-vegans

I found one of the above books through my online library and have it on hold. Do any of you have names of other fiction books you would recommend? ...and of course fiction books with characters eating raw would be fabulous, but perhaps they are yet to be written.

(If this post doesn't follow site guidelines, let me know.)

Thanks!

So I've always had a small chest even when I had a belly before starting my healing fruitarian journey. I was told that they can grow again if I heal my hormone problems. I think I was also stunted in my height. I'm 5' and have always been shorter than both of my parents. I also became disabled at a younger age than my mom did. My disabilities have healed a lot over the past 8 months. I was told I could grow taller when my endocrine issues heal. Does anyone know if that is true? I just want to feel like an attractive healthy woman. I was abused a lot growing up so am trying to be more confident as well. This diet has helped me have more confidence. I have one person irl who is supportive of me on this journey and even became fruitarian as well. I'd like to have more fruitarian friends if you're interested. 🥰

I've never been fully raw but recently I have been eating more raw til 4 with lots of fruit throughout the day.
Often after eating a mono meal of fruit, I feel this weird tightness discomfort in my chest and belly. It's hard to describe the feeling. This feeling only happens when I eat mono meals of fruit but it doesn't happen every time. I can't find anything talking about this on the internet as there are so few places that even discuss eating fruits in large amounts.
Anyways, I keep thinking these sensations might be detox symptoms as I still do eat some processed vegan food here and there. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced these sensations going higher raw?

thanks all, love being here!

I've traveled a great deal around the globe and always wanted to figure out a way how I can turn my passion into something that can offer value to people. I'm not here to drop a link, but I do encourage you all to PM me if you are interested in guided cycling tours in New York City. I have 4 tours as of now with one that is scenic and leaves NYC for an hour. Bike touring is such a great way to experience a place and it's people. I've been open for business for about 3 months now and received 2 bookings so far. I am working hard at getting more daily. My website is optimized for mobile and other devices for anyone to book anywhere. We are located in southeast Ecuador. It's a great way to ensure you always have access to cheap, high quality tropical fruit - and you can grow your own. And hey, what better way to find a HCRV partner? Several people have found their soulmates here.

I made a video explaining the basics of the Fruit Haven group buys, and you can also check out the web page below.

More info on raw vegan group land buys

Let me know if you have any questions!

What do we need to know about the government that we don’t already know? Well, one thing is for sure. Individually we know governments lie, steal, and cheat the public, but then we go ahead and vote, for another politician or president thinking that this is going to solve our world problems. We watch president candidate elections on television and all the mass-media programming, news, and commercials, and even though yes we know what the governments say, what the commercials sell us and what the TV brainwashing is doing to us is awful. Though, we tend to still be complicit and follow everyone, like robots and zombies. Why?

Why do we trust and follow the government? Why do we vote, when it does little to nothing to bring about true peace and freedom? Why do we eat the way everyone else does? Why? Why not live another way? It is so because we all think it is hopeless, that humanity is doomed to failure and destruction. All this mass-hysteria and fear is what governments and mass-media are laying on us. Only when we take control of our own lives will we at least start to gain some of our freedom back.

And by no means are any of us free. No matter what we think or how we put it, virtually every human is enslaved by the government, which in the larger picture is run by a smaller group of people called “the Illuminati”, “shadow government” or “cabal”.

Our Western culture is good at deceiving and programming fear and violence in us. It is in fact, happening all over the world. We fear and thus fear to make changes in our lives. We fear to eat another way, move to another place, or fear others and bar our doors and windows. We fear to such a degree, we pour money into fighting terrorism, when terrorism is constructed by the government themselves. They created ISIS and other organizations to put fear into us. They create all, or at least most, of the green screen mass-media and news stories. Most of the mass-media news is either pre-fabricated or exaggerated. We believe their lies and are duped and coerced into their world. But it is not only the government and a few selected people at the top that are to blame. Individually we are to blame as well. Our culture’s tentacles far-reaches all of society, our world, and lives.

We think we are free, non-violent, and peaceful human beings. And this is far from the truth. Even though I would love to live in a utopic paradise, how can we when the majority of us are causing tremendous suffering and violence at every moment of our lives? Can we really achieve a world of peace?

We don’t realize the extent of the ramifications of our buying choices that our herding culture is responsible for. It’s turning us into consumeristic and materialistic, ego-driven beings. While what we ultimately are, are unique individuals, all interconnected to every other lifeform. We were created and evolved into who we are today. And it is our uniqueness, as well as the interconnectedness that shapes our path and journey in life. We are not just a spec of dust in the universe, but the universe/god itself.

However, we are still a part of this culture, a one world government dominated by the wealthy elite. Though we continue living our dreary lives, with blinders on, we view ourselves in a very separatistic way rather than spiritual one. We are all spiritual in nature. But unfortunately, our emotions of kindness, love, compassion, tenderness, wisdom, joy, etc., have been hidden and suppressed by our herding culture. No matter what type of culture we live in, because we are all interconnected to each other, whatever we do here affects someone on the other side of the world.

It is therefore vital that we try to break out of the chains of slavery that our culture and the government forced us into. It is difficult to do this, as we are bound by human laws and police enforcement that don’t take a fancy to anarchists and non-conformists. We are shunning and forced into their rules and authority. Otherwise, prison is the unfortunate result. Which again, is a part of the enslavement and indoctrinated world that humanity lives in.

So, how do we escape the prison that nearly all of us are born into? Is there a way to just leave it all behind and build a loving community out in nature? While it is somewhat possible to do, again, there may be legal consequences in doing so. Governments and law enforcement don’t want people building alternatives communities of sharing and love. They want us under their control and domination. They want to control us, just enough to think we are free while having us conform to the status quo. I certainly don’t want any part of that. Let’s work together to make this world a heavenly paradise for all. Love, light, peace, and freedom for everyone.

To Learn more get my newest book Our Path to Freedom: How We Can Live a Freer and More Peaceful Life and visit my website.

The Earth can endure only so much. We kill and destroy everything and everyone in our path. Oxygen is essential for survival, but if we clear all the forests, kill the native wildlife, poison the land, air, and water with toxic chemicals and fertilizers, and remove all the fishes from the oceans, what will happen to the vital oxygen needed for life to survive?

For a few months, I've lived in the Belizean jungle and have witnessed breathtaking scenery and some unique and beautiful truly free-roaming animals. Colourful lizards, paca (known as the gibnut in Belize), similar to the guinea pig, playing and eating around the compost pile, and geckos climbing up and down the walls. I got to listen to crickets, frogs, various birds, and the occasional, howler monkey living far high up in mountain jungle.

Belize is a magical place, and I got to witness all the beauty. However, it can get a bit sad at times. We saw people deforesting native jungle to grow monoculture orchards laden with poisonous chemicals that harm wildlife and the Earth. People shoot and kill many animals for food or for enjoyment, leading many animals to extinction. They only see profit and feel as if they can do as they wish to our precious home. But without the forests, clean oceans and rivers, and many naturally free-roaming animals around, humanity won't survive. Money can't help us if the air, land, oceans, and food are all polluted and poisoned.

Many people either don't realize that we need to take care of the Earth in order to survive, or are too ego-driven to care. In nature, nonhuman animals only kill, to either protect their young or their home or for sustenance. Humans destroy and kill just for enjoyment and taste pleasures. These are not reasonable justifications for the continuation of using, slaughtering, and stealing from innocent beings.

By far, the most significant destruction to the Earth is caused by animal agriculture. It is because, when we see other animals as property and food, we have this destructive tendency which wants to destroy and kill. We have no regards for future generations or for other people who inhabit the Earth. Through partaking in mealtime rituals, eating the animals and taking their purposes away, we also lose our purposes as well.

We all contain the sacred feminine within us, which protects, nurtures, and loves. That is why, when we consume foods violent in nature such as those which come from animals, we have a hard time empathizing with the innocent animals we consume. It is because the feminine part of us knows what we are doing goes against our moral values of love and kindness. And that is why for most of us, we would be unable to kill an animal for our meal. If we had to kill animals to eat them, most of us would become vegan.

Through our intuition, we know killing and stealing are immoral and inconsistent with our innate kindness and love. However, we go against our yearning for peace and freedom just to conform to our cultural practices and to follow and please everyone else, and never question any of it.

How are we to progress to higher states of consciousness if we are still supporting the mass murder of innocent beings? Why do we not want to live in harmony with all life? Why do we continue to justify the use and killing that we cause to nonhuman animals for our food and other lifestyle choices? When will we awaken to our true inner state of compassion, love, and kindness to others?

Looking around at nature and all the wildlife, the blue sky and clouds rolling by, why would we not want to be a part of such Earthly beauty? Why do we continue killing each other and destroying the environment around us? Life is precious, life is beautiful. Live life vegan, one bite at a time. Try it. You won't regret it.

To Learn more get my newest book Our Path to Freedom: How We Can Live a Freer and More Peaceful Life and visit my website.

The problem there is, most unrestricted land that we can afford is too far from cities for us to be able to make enough money to survive.

So I'm interested in learning some more about living in an intentional community. Most seem to not be vegan, though! (Surprisingly... why wouldn't you want to be vegan? I would think it would make things easier.)

I did see some old threads about it on here, but none that have been active recently.

I think the most difficult thing is that we do have two cats that we rescued and will not leave behind, so that means that some options will not work for us.

As long as we can bring them though, I am open to ideas!

Hi, I'm new on this forum so please be gentle :)

I went vegan in April 2016 and everything was going really well (lost some fat eating HCLF, improved my already good grades, skin was baby soft...) but in August last year my forehead sarted to break out, just a few pimples but still. I wasn't concerned but became a little bit cautious since I stopped using chemicals and only used water + coconut oil (which I've used since before I went vegan without problems) in my skincare.

It's almost February and my skin is worse than ever. The acne has now spread to around my nose but not on or under it.

This is really frustrating, I feel bad even looking into people's eyes because it makes me self conscious that they might look at my pimples. My dad who never accepted me going vegan has also used this as an argument for making me eat meat again (I'll of course never do that), he thinks that there's just something magical about meat that makes everything great.

I eat low fat, almost salt free, lots of fruit in the morning, drink plenty of water etc. I also combine my food carefully but there's just something that's making me break out.

I'm 14 and still growing. I don't think it's just hormones, my mum never had acne, neither did my dad or brother so it's not genetic.

PS. I did some research, apparently forehead acne is related to digestive issues but I haven't had any and my bowel movements are prima.
