However, I live in Canada and such a lifestyle is pretyy expensive (I hope to oneday build a greenhouse when I own my own home).

So, in the meantime, I was thinking raw til 4! I look at Freelees results and I'm just in awe, and have also really struggled with other diets.

My only concern is the smoothies. I've heard of studies that say smoothies are actually not very good for you, and that eating the foods in whole food form is most ideal... But when I try to cram in as many calories without the aid of smoothies I find it very challenging...

Hoping to get advice :)

I have major fitness goals, i enjoy training and the cycling lifestyle. The doctor is on vacation right now so i don't have intricate details on the type of murmur, but i wanted to know what this means for my fitness goals. Anyone with some real fitness and athletic experience have anything to say? How much could this hold me back?

I don't get chest pains as far as i can tell, I don't think i ever feel desperately or dangerously short of breath during rides or on cardio machines, but i do notice that i can rarely keep up with riders that are in their 50s. I've been cycling for 9 months to one year, beforehand i had no fitness or athletic background, i came from a very sedentary lifestyle.

What sensors do i need and should I get a bundle or buy the computer and sensors separately?

I just purchased Profile Desing T3 Aluminum areo-bars, some Relative Design frame bags, a ruggedized 20,000amph power-bank, and double rear water bottle seat mount. I don't wan't to have anything on my back for this stuff, so I'm trying to make it cammelbak free. I'm making an appointment with my bike fitter to help me choose a new seat this weekend as well, gotta take care of the dick. My goals are to optimize my training and start trying my hand at long distance solo rides. Eventually I'd like to be able to go anywhere in the U.S. on a bike like its no big deal.

I have only one bike, I hope its capable of what I'm trying to make it do: It's a Gaint contend SL Disc 1, Aluminum frame.

But, I reminded myself that she was worth the try. She has struggled for years with weight loss; she loves to exercise and has tried every fad diet that has come and gone. Also, my grandmother (her mother) suffered from many health issues and ultimately passed away too young from being overweight. So, I told her that I loved her and I wanted her to thrive and live a long, healthy life.

Not to mention, she much like myself is a passionate person and a huge animal lover. So, I told her the documentaries to watch and to remember the animals to keep inspired. She sounds serious about it and I would be so happy if she changed her life and saved lives with me!

Share some love and good vibes, fruit bats!

Obviously, the fruit drew me to Thailand, as well as the friendly people, warm weather, slower pace of life, and inexpensive living. I'm thinking about traveling for around 2-3 months sometime between January-June of 2016. Living in a cold climate, it would be nice to go during the colder months-however, I would love to be able to go to the RT4 fruit festival in June. Or maybe I would stay for longer than 2-3 months, who knows! When's the best time to go?

I mainly wanted to reach out to all of you fruity folks as a way to connect with some like-minded people, as well as ask for any tips/advice while transitioning toward hcrv, and traveling in Thailand.

This July I will be traveling to Puerto Rico to visit my family on my mom's side. (I am half Puerto Rican) I grew up eating a lot of high fat, fried, greasy, salty food with a lot of animal products eggs, butter and meat): There is also a lot of rice and beans which are vegan however I'd rather not eat them as my body does better on all raw and, I do not digest beans well at all. Not to mention they add a lot of salt and oil to the rice. So I really don't know what to do because food is a very important part of Puerto Rican culture and my relatives will freak out if I tell them all I eat is fruit. I don't want to insult them either and I feel like I would be by not eating their food. Has anyone gone through this I need suggestions and advice thanks. (on a side note I'm extremely excited for all the mangoes and other tropical fruit.)

Anyway...

I was diagnosed with narcolepsy without cataplexy two years ago. Most people think of narcolepsy as a joke, as it is portrayed in movies, but it's not funny to people who have it.

After suffering from excessive daytime exhaustion for years I had a sleep study which revealed that I fall almost immediately into REM sleep when I fall asleep and contrary to popular belief, more REM sleep is NOT better when you don't get enough "deep" or "slow wave" sleep. I refused to accept this diagnosis because the prognosis is terrible. "No cure" and "no known cause" but suspected to be autoimmune related and brought on by a virus or a trauma, generally in ages 15-20 is when it begins to manifest.

I stopped taking adderall 4 months ago, and the sleeping pills I was on, because I am trying to become healthy, but I have little energy or motivation to even shower, let alone stick to the raw til 4 diet (as much as I want and intend to, getting to the store is even a large task for me right now). This is not withdrawal. This is something wrong with my body or brain that was there before adderall ever came around.

My question is: has anyone cured narcolepsy with the raw til 4 or HCRV lifestyle? I so want this to be the solution but everything I read screams against it. They claim that a ketogenic diet (basically paleo) has helped narcolepsy patients. Nothing seems to help me. I eat a generally healthy vegetarian diet. I'm trying to find the motivation and inspiration to stick with raw til 4 but it's very hard with my poor sleep and extremely low energy levels. I know it's a shot in the dark to find someone with narcolepsy on here, but please...someone, anyone...inspiration please?!???

Hello everyone!

I apologize in advance for I fear I'm asking a pretty common question, but I hope to get some good advice^^

I am studying abroad in South Korea until next June and am determined to start a raw vegan lifestyle (I'm thinking rawtill4) but I have some issues. I am on a budget (like most college students) and fruit costs are astronomical in Korea in my opinion. I know there are fruit vendors in some places, but i don't know where to find things such as dates or where to buy in bulk, nor am I fluent in Korean yet. I have been browsing the website iherb.com and consider it a viable option for things like dried fruit, coconut sugar, and nuts, but it has been all I have found. Does anyone else have advice? I also have a large problem with binge eating that keeps me falling off the wagon. I've been vegetarian and vegan before, and I miss it and how good I felt. Please help!

(this is my first post)

I am currently not vegan, much less high carb raw vegan. However, I have cut out most animal products (I was never huge on meat) and am working on cutting out fish and eggs from my diet. (Also, I love nuts-cashews, almonds, etc.)

I should mention that I am 5'1 and currently (probably, because I don't weigh myself) around 110 lbs. I have definitely been leaner and more fit (105 lbs) but as a university student I struggle with eating well and exercising (I am a first-year so it's a transitional stage for me. I know I'm making excuses and should exercise. It's just really difficult with the amount of workload and the amount of stress that comes with maintaining a high GPA...).

With everything that I've mentioned I have some questions/concerns about becoming high carb raw vegan (and I have done some research but definitely correct me if I'm wrong about something):

1. The initial weight gain - I've read some threads and understand that this is completely normal as the body adjusts. Eventually your metabolism shoots straight up and all that weight comes off. However, I am a small person. I am currently "average" weight right now. Any weight gain is fairly obvious on my small frame and therefore I really fear this initial weight gain period, especially since I've read that the weight can remain with you for months and months. I don't know if there's anything I can do about this, because it is inevitable, right? Should I start this lifestyle in the summer or something?

2. Money - I know eating high carb raw vegan is not necessarily expensive because I can prioritize spending money on groceries or buy cheaper vegetables and fruits. But... textbooks and tuition are expenses I can't avoid. As well, I like variety in my foods. Bananas and dates and staple foods in this lifestyle and they taste great. They do, but I'm just not sure I can have a diet so centralized on those two foods. I would get bored very quickly. Also, I don't know if this is too much to ask, but does anyone have actual numbers on how much they spend on food each week/month?

3. Time - First of all, I don't have time to do a lot of grocery shopping. Also, I worry that I don't have enough time to consume my large meals. My schedule is pretty packed and on days where I have to bring a lunch with me do I just bring a banana smoothie or something? I forgot to mention, I live in a suite, and share a full-sized fridge with 2 other suitemates.

4. How much calories should I be consuming? - I've heard min 2500 some say min 2000. Again, I'm a small person, so does that factor into anything? Do I eat more cal if I regularly work out (which is difficult for me to imagine right now...)? When I transition into this diet do I work out to boost my metabolism since I'm eating more cal?

5. Should I take a multivitamin everyday with this lifestyle? - I drink this nutritional shake called Vega One. It's plant-based and has 50% of all your required nutrients. (Some people are going to say that powders are a waste of money and I will - for now - disagree because it is nutritious and convenient for me as a student)

6. Some questions on the foods themselves

-from my understanding, some fat is fine, so I can eat nuts and avocados and such?

-what about protein? Enlighten me on which fruits and veggies cover which amino acids; I do want to know. Are there veggies that cover all essential amino acids? (like quinoa does - but its not vegetable...)

Um, I think that's all I have to say for now. Please give me advice on the topics I mentioned and if you require further information I can provide it.

Thank you.

I thought it would be fun to get some advice on what to say in a letter to a naturopath that suggested I begin eating fish and "grass fed organic meats" and up my protein as part of a regimen to cure my ECZEMA and psoriasis. I know wtf? Anyway I basically wanted to get some blood tests to see if I was sensitve/allergic to foods and in the beginning I had to go through the intake tests - some pretty stupid and hokey tests and questions and then he suggested I take a fish oil (haven't heard THAT before) and start eating fish and grass fed organic meat and up my protein to like 40% . I was like "are you cray cray? no way, I'm not doing that" and I never went back. I just want to explain why I didn't come back and while I don't owe him any explanation, I think I will provide some feedback.

It makes no sense to me that a naturopath would suggest doing harm (eating animals) when they take an oath to not do harm or to eat inflammatory foods for a condition caused by inflammation. Anyway I got the tests I wanted so I can avoid the foods that I'm sensitive to from another naturopath.

What do you think I should say? Or should I just leave it?

Thanks !!!

Ever since I've started, whenever I make a date or banana smoothie, my stomach gets really upset while I drink them. I don't know if maybe I'm just not used to all the fruit in my system? Did this happen to anyone else? It feels like while I drink the smoothie my stomach is in knots. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

MissBliss
