Hey fruity friends!

I have just released my new (and first) recipe ebook! I am so thrilled to share the magic of this work with you.

It contains 40+ low-fat raw vegan recipes that will delight everyone. 36 of the recipes are completely nut-free. They are so healthy, that you can easily eat them as breakfast! :) And the best of all, you won’t need to spend tons of money for those fancy ingredients. You probably already have most of the things that you need at home.

We are talking cakes and pies, truffles, puddings, ice creams and MORE.

I actually ran a local cake business for a while. At the beginning I was making high fat cakes (but still without oils and such), but I really, really wanted to make them low fat. So I started experimenting (I love making new recipes!) and I succeeded! Many LFRV recipes was born. :) Now I decided it is time to share the recipes with the world, so I created this book.

Check out the book HERE.

You can also check the preview of the ebook (with 3 recipes inside) by clicking HERE: Simple & Light Desserts - preview.

With love,
Tiasha

More pictures from the ebook:

Adding another genetically modified food to the growing list of biotech creations, the USDA has now approved the first GMO apple for commercial planting inside the United States. Slated for your dinner table, the new GMO apple is reportedly ‘resistant to turning brown when sliced or bruised.’

Coming just months after the USDA approved the first genetically modified potato, the news reminds us of the USDA’s declaration to give Monsanto and other biotech organizations ‘speedy approval’ when it comes to approving genetically modified foods. In other words, less testing and more rubber stamping.

According to the New York Times, the USDA ‘considered the issues’ over the new GMO apple (including the intense opposition), writing:

“The Department of Agriculture, which approved the apples for commercial planting, said on Friday that it had considered these issues. However, it said that under the law, approval is based on whether a genetically modified crop poses a threat to other plants. The department determined that the apples posed no such risk…. The so-called Arctic apples — which will be available in the Granny Smith and Golden Delicious varieties — are genetically engineered in a way to suppress the production of an enzyme that causes browning when cells in the apple are injured, from slicing, for example.”

The good news? You may actually be able to identify these GMO apples by their sale name ‘Arctic’ — or perhaps an FDA-approved label that they are considered ‘non-browning’. An indicator that we have not yet seen with genetically modified foods — and for good reason. After all, no one would actually purchase GMO foods (including the new GMO apple) if they carried an appropriate label.

Why do you think over 96% of Monsanto shareholders are against GMO labeling?

This news comes as both a surprise and an expected announcement. As the USDA continues to roll through GMO products into the dining rooms of consumers nationwide, it’s less and less of a shock as every staple food becomes modified by mega biotech — and the time is now to demand real testing and action. Or at least answers as to why the US State Department is paying for Monsanto’s marketing materials like DVDs and threatening other countries who reject their GMO crops.

Would you eat a GMO apple?

Such a delicious snack!

This recipe definitely is the best food combining, but it's good as a once in a while treat if your digestion can handle it :)

What are your favorite lfrv snacks?

The only thing that I'm trying to figure out right now is how do I get so much fruit without breaking the bank? I ate so much fruit yesterday! I hear that you can buy by the case at wholefoods. Should I go to my local whole foods store and ask them ? I'm also hearing a lot about wholesale. Im a bit embarrassed because I dont know what that is. How much do you usually spend a week? Any tips on how to do this on a budget?

The first couple of days I consumed 30 - 40 bananas a day and about a pound of dates.

It wasn't hard at first but.... I am getting sick of bananas and dates!!! They make me feel great, but I just cannot get through the taste anymore! Are there other foods that have more or close to the same calories as bananas and dates that I can start pounding down? I have been eating and drinking loads of oranges and apples as well.

As Ive seen here on the site there are people having problems with their teeth.
The enamel dissolving or the gums receding.

Now I had the same problems! And I was really worried about this.
So Ive been searching what may cause this.. and Ive found that brushing teeth (what isnt natural in the first place) is bad for your teeth. Unnecessary.
Also the dry fruits do not help your teeth.. they tend to stick to the teeth. This gives u a dry mouth (just like when u brush) and prevents the saliva from flowing.

So if u want your teeth to remineralize u have to realize these things:

-Fruits dont clean your teeth, saliva does.

-Best fruit for saliva flow: Apples.

Dont make the mistake of drinking apple juice.. (also not found in nature) but eat the apple whole.

After some time u will start to see improvements in ur gums. And it may even be possible for your body to remineralize the enamel of your teeth.

The Body can heal itself if u do not put too much stress on it.

Thats my message about teeth. Hopefully Ive helped someone with this.

ALERT OF THE WEEK

Stop Genetically Engineered Apples!

Okanagan Specialty Fruits Inc., Summerland, B.C., is seeking USDA and FDA approval for its Arctic Golden Delicious and Granny Smith apples in which genes causing browning have been switched off.

The U.S. apple industry is asking USDA not to allow these genetically engineered, non-browning apples from Canada to be produced in the United States. The U.S. Apple Association voted unanimously at a March 12 board meeting to oppose the Okanagan Specialty Fruits application.

The Northwest Horticulture Council is also trying to stop GM apples. Chris Schlect, president of the Northwest Horticulture Council sent a letter to U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack on Feb. 28 expressing the council's opposition to the Okanagan application. Schlect explained in the letter that the Northwest Horticulture Council "anticipate[s] severe adverse marketing issues to confront both organic and traditional apple growers should [GM apples] be allowed into the general marketplace."

The council explained its stance in the March edition of its newsletter:

"This policy decision was made by our trustees after a careful balance, taking into account potential customer concerns, of benefits and risks to the existing commercial apple industry of the Pacific Northwest," the newsletter states. "In the end, the projected benefits of the non-browning apples did not outweigh the marketing harm likely to occur to apple growers and marketers, whether traditional or organic."

Speaking with the Capital Ag Press, Schlect said the industry is concerned that negative public perception of genetically engineered products could hurt apple sales.

"It's purely an economic thing. The negatives outweigh the positives," he said.

In this case, he said, there are issues of product labeling, possible cross-contamination, potential export market barriers and general consumer concern.

The U.S. apple industry isn't opposed to genetic engineering, but they will oppose GMO apples as long as they believe that consumers will reject them. We must use this opportunity to send a strong message to President Obama, Sec. Vilsack and APHIS Aministrator Cindy Smith that consumers are against GMO apples.
