Hi everyone!

I noticed this has been posted before but it's been years, and I would love to have a current discussion about it - I am VERY new to this lifestyle, and I already have roadblocks because my husband and sons eat meat and have made it VERY clear to me that they will not change. I pray my health and behavior changes will hopefully bring them over there, but right now, I'm focusing on caring for me. That being said...

I seem to go into a mild Anaphylaxis (tongue swelling, itchy throat and ears, etc) whenever I eat bananas or any pitted fruit (peaches, cherries, dates, plums, etc...) This is harsh for me because I LOVE fruit and I am wondering if my allergy is just simply from decades of poor health and eating, along with all the crap they add in foods these days. Can an allergy like this be reversed? I would love to hear stories about this because I'm not going down without a fight. I WANT to eat these fruits....

I am also throwing up a disclaimer right now that anyone commenting on this is not a doctor, nor is giving any information on cures. I am desperate to eat healthier, and I feel freaking defeated whenever I try to eat this fruit. :(

Thanks in advance! :D

Bridget

I'll be there 14.09.19, so I want my bananas to be ripe at that moment. So I need someone who can help me to buy 30 bananas (conventional is ok) about one week before my arrival (~7 september, +-1day, 6days to 1 week is enough time to get brown spots in my experience). The scheme in my mind is: I send you some euros (you tell me the estimate price) via Paypal (+some additional fee for you help). You buy me bananas and store them until 14.09.19. At that day I ride to your address and get them ripe.

Or may be you can help with me some other solutions: - place in Berlin where I can buy spotty bananas with high probability; - people with online vegan shops in Berlin, where I can pay for them in advance (and just get the week later when I arrive).

Thanks a lot!

What else can I say to them? Also, they say to me that people living in cold regions in countries can't have a vegan diet because they have to protect themselves with fish mostly (or meat). And that they aren't the same as people who live in warm places. What about this? I think I need to investigate more so I don't turn blank although I always try to make some good explanations. There must be a perfect explanation of these too. If they would try the vegan diet they wouldn't say anything bad about it, being vegan is feeling awesome. Fresh fruits and plant based food plus you get so connected to nature.. Ahh..... They really should try it haha. Thank you for taking your time for reading this. Let's talk!

I have never done banana island before, so I have some questions.

1. When I see other people on instagram and youtube on banana island, they often include other things like greens and dates into their banana island. I would love to include some coconut sugar, some greens, and maybe even some vanilla extract. What ware the limitations on banana island in terms of including other foods?

2. How long should I go on the island? I bought a 13 kilo box of bananas the other day, however I was hoping that I would be able to make them last a while. Would you say one or two days is enough to cleanse my body??

3. I am only 4 11', and weigh about 100 pounds. How any bananas would you say I should be eating?

4. If you have any useful tips for me, that would be greatly appreciated!

When would simplicity bring nutritional problems?

I've always had a nice variety of foods on my nutrition, but due to budget, I just started to eat only bananas as the main source of calories. For the veggies I get one or two heads of romaine lettuce with oyster mushrooms. Like them raw!

Im hitting 3,300/4,000 calories a day.

Like this I will be 2,5 months. too long?

From time to time I could get some mango or papaya and change the green leaf vegetable.

But I'm curious (and worried) about the health consequences of this lifestyle.

Where can I read/study about it?

Any opinions, suggestions, warnings, criticisms.. please?! :)

Cheers!

-In the picture.
A good variety of bananas at the traditional market.
