Hi ❤ I am new to this community and very exited to be here. I am a spiritual, 34 year old female from Norway and have been vegan and raw till 4 since 2015. I have had a dream about building a fruit paradise for many years. I have been traveling around looking for a place, and there has been bumps along the way. I would like to check out Nicaragua for a potential spot, but it would be so nice to create this place together with someone like-minded. The main plan is to buy some land, not to far from the ocean for surfing possibilities. Growing food, offgrid, have a river close by for water and cleaning would be awesome. Then in the future when we have enough food to share, welcome people who are sick and want to get well. Donationbased. Also maybe host retreats of different kinds. If this sounds soulsoothing for you, please reach out 💞✨

Join our discord group: https://discord.gg/FQW3M9apye

and or telegram: https://t.me/joinchat/H1PBl9ZBKS9rZEoi

Hello Folks, since Corona Virus many people around the world have understood the need to move to the tropics and start growing their own food, you can say it's a survival idea. Many want to do it but the task seems way too enormous, and it is if you are on your own!! That's why i decided to spread the word about us, a forming raw vegan tribe on a beautiful land in the jungle with already growing fruit forest, and our amazing vegan neighborhood. We are called Purafruta and located on the Carribean side of Costa Rica, 15 mins drive from the beach, and 20 mins from the nearby town, Puerto Viejo, the larger community of Talamanca, populated mostly by foreigners, in total of 4 close-by surf-towns along the beach, sums up to 10,000 amazing like-minded people that benefits from constant energy/resources/skills exchange.

Our Purafruta tribe welcomes people that want to take advantage of this amazing local community, but to live in our own raw vegan eco-village, where we work together maintaining and further expanding the fruit forest on our 15 hectares land, raise our kids together using educational techniques that we all agree on and apply. We also share tools, community gardens, and much more. If you end up finding out you are more of an individualistic type, we also have a friend on our road that sells land for cheap, in the heart of a Vegan road! So together with them we make a very interesting neighborhood.

If you want to know more click here and read through our values, our structure, pictures and more... See if it's somthing for you...
Webspage - http://PuraFruta.org
Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/PuraFruta6

The borders just opened up so we are expecting 10 new families, so if you want to come this will be the best time ever for investing since that within the next few months the lots we have to "sell" are the cheapest and have the best locations on the land, so get ready!

Let's get ready for the coming era, things are changing fast, so please share this message around this is a crucial time, people need to know that there is an option like us, and others that we can refer too in Ecuador.

Thank you!!

-The Purafruta Tribe-

Hi!

I hope you are as excited for this as I am.

I am in Massachusetts, and representing myself and the idea of a few people to band together to create a community in Westminster, MA, or another area of Eastern Massachusetts.

The goal is about 30 to 50 people or families, each having a private 2.5-4 acres each, all the same amount. The remainder will be a common area, common woods, etc. It’s so exciting. I don’t know about you but it’s a dream come true.

So far, the consensus is these parameters to make life easier for all of us to support each other in how we want to move forward.

- No animals inside walls or fences

- Vegan, Raw Vegan

- No power tools used for building, or outdoor work

- No air conditioners, no gas or propane or other fossil fuels.

It may be that the best use is sections of wifi-free houses, or common area wifi, phone use, so that people do not need cell phones or devices.

While it’s a desire to use less freezers, wifi, and cell phones, it’s not necessarily where one is at right now.

It’s this goal that we are moving in this direction, towards being in a safe space, total union with other life, developing a gentler and non-busy life.

All buildings will be built by hand by anyone who wants to participate. That way anyone who wants to can learn to build a house, and some lucky one gets the house whether they design it, or not... and then one is freed up can help others build one. No rent.. This is in contrast to what people often do, which is work all week, paying for a contractor to build their house, to rush through a more toxic building of the house. When people try to buy a paradise alone, it is more expensive and more lonely later. This way, the builder needs little money and finds him/herself amongst friends who also want this freedom and together they can actually make the dream a reality.

There are a lot of people who want this, right? Like really!

Don’t be shy! I really want people to feel like they can let this be what they’ve been wanting. It’s really not a attempt of a few individuals it’s just this dream that includes a lot of people even if we don’t know eachother, yet. You know if it’s yours. Come in some way, please! We want you. We want friends. We’re all on earth and we might as well come together on earth.

Maybe you want to start another community? How bout it. More the merrier. There is a movement in Russia calling itself the Kin-villages. Some people get together, raise enough money to purchase some land. Then they divide it into 2.5 acre sections, each one for a family. There is independence for the residents in this model, and the goal is to develop a space of love for the family that can last for ages and satsify everyone.

This is the video describing this happening in russia <https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=bmaNy76ic94>;

I feel horrible! Both physically and ethically and need to get back to the light-side. I am currently based in the US and am looking for some motivational friends in the vegan community to keep me grounded. I do not necessarily need people to guide or motivate me, because I feel like being vegan is a journey you need to commit to for personal reasons and not for others or because it's "cool." Freelee has taught me so much and given so much guidance that to not use and spread this knowledge would be exceptionally wasteful. I do not have vegan friends or know any vegans in my area and it has been difficult to describe or talk about things I'm feeling or share common interests.Any advice? Thanks!(Oh by the way; I am raw till four vegan)

Not quite as easy as I thought though.

I was hoping it would be really easy to find a place with a huge abundance of fruit. On the WWOOF website, I found only one place in South Florida that seems easy to get integrated with and has a decent level of variety of fruit trees.

Does anybody know of any places I might want to check out? I might settle permanently in the area, so entry-level jobs at cool places would be nice too. Any advice at all would be appreciated. Thanks a lot guys!

I was pulling my teeth out the whole time. I'm really interested in taking nutrition classes, anyone know of a college with a nutrition program based on research, instead of subsidies like major universities?

I'm a liberal minded 20 year old male, who loves community and sunshine.

Hello dear fruit heads of the world!

Gathering for the creation of the fruitarian community in Costa-Rica!!

Its with pleasure that I invite all the fruit heads of the world to come and either witness or be part of this wonderful event that will occur this winter, from December first to end of... April!! Or come for however long you want! If your looking for a nice place to spend the winter, surrounded with tropical fruits and fruitarians from all over the world keep reading! Or you can take a look at the progress we've made so far, like gathering all the information you need to know about Costa-Rica, or the people already on board, or the possible land we are interested in... And more, all on our website http://www.fruitariancommunity.tk

Now here's the index of everything you need to know about the gathering... With my phone number at the end for more information...

Housing
Cost per month and available food
Activities
What to bring
Topics of circles

HOUSING

I hope to have at least 20 people present for the event. We'll try to fit everyone on the same property. So bring you tent! We will share a kitchen, which will be a good opportunity to learn about sharing a kitchen among fruitarians... Or good opportunity to show how we behave in communal spaces, after all, one of the main objective of this gathering will be to see each other in many situation! We will also plant a garden as soon as we get there, so all you green thumbs can be satisfy! We hope to move to a land that interest us, to learn about it as much as possible about it before the big investment.

COST PER MONTH

For hoursing, food, communication, and transport, i say from 350$ to 650$ a month minimum, let me explain... The housing will not cost more the 600$ per month, all depends on how many people will show up, the rent will be split among us, it can cost you as little 20-50$ a month if enough people... Food is quite expensive, so if you want to eat awesome food like sapote or durian (if available), it might cost you up to 15$ a day, so 450$ a month. BUT!! If you decide to give a little effort, you'll easely find food around that nobody cares about, like coconut, rose apple, sugar cane, some jackfruit, many varieties of bananas, plantains, coconut palm heart, oranges, and many greens like local spinach, colllards, katouk or cranberry hibiscus, my favorite, etc... If you go this way it could cost you only 5$ a day or 150$ a month. I will buy a truck for everyone's groceries, at least for as many people as possible, and for looking at lands, going to the beach etc... So I will ask for gaz money, not much, but with other transports like bus's, I would say 100$ a month. Then for communication, its easy to spend 2-5$ a day on internet, so about 100$ a month.

ACTIVITIES

We hope to be as proactive as possible, and not just surf all the time...lol. Looking for land and building a garden will be a good part, but we need to get to know each other as much as possible. So we need to play together!! Any sport like soccer, frisby or even tag will be part of our days. I also will try to get a Risk board game, believe it or not this game worked very well last year to learn about some people... Any suggestions will be welcome, I bet we won't run out of ideas!

WHAT TO BRING

A tent that is well aired, or a large mosquito net with a tarp over it, or a hammock with a mosquito net incorporated in it, with a tarp over it. Don't worry though there's barely any mosquitoes year round! Some good hiking shoes, as light as possible, crocs and five fingers might get wormed out fast on the gravel roads and long hikes we take to look for land. A sleeping bag is not essential, a blanket can be plenty, but some summer sleeping bag can be very compact compared to a blanket... Outer then that you know the essential, tooth brush, cloths, ceramic knife, wooden spoon, etc...

TOPICS OF CIRCLES

The group will be divided into 2, the ones truly interested in becoming a resident of the community, and the ones whom are there simply to witness the event... the fist ones will have lots of circles to attend to, even home works!! We will be talking mostly of the vision. We need to find out what is the core goal of every one, the long term one. Then we need to choose a legal entity, a cooperative probably, that is to buy land under many people's name, to protect each other financial and legally. This will be the toughest thing to accomplish. After we learned about each other and made a fancy document, one or two of us will have to go back with me to Montreal Canada to finalize the entity... Which will take about a month of work. Its important to understand the necessity of this, I really hope you did or will read Diana Leave Christian's book Creating life together... Our bible if you ask me... In there you will see what we will talk in details, and how we will talk, like with a facilitator, some of us are trained in this. Also we will talk about the different branches of the project, such as a animal shelter, a yoga center, a PRI (permaculture research institute), a healing center, etc.. Lots to talk about!

So I hope i gain your attention... And like I said, you can simply come as a witness, enjoying the fruits, the beach and the fruitarian company! No stress!

For more information please don't be shy, add me on Skype, I'm pom.vincent, and on Facebook I'm pom vincent, with no period in between.

Blessings!

This is my observation on Harley and Freelea not being "pioneers" anymore at the WFF and the massive growth I've seen in the popularity and exposure of this lifestyle to the masses.

First of all, I don't think it's very fair that Harley and Freelea have been removed as "pioneers" at the festival, when there are obviously other "pioneers" who are selling animal products/ taking animal products, other "pioneers" eating cooked food items, and other "pioneers" who are eating a higher fat intake than the 80/10/10 diet suggests, all of whom have not been removed from the list of pioneers. So why have they not been removed? Is there a statement made by the organizers of the WFF about why Harley and Freelea have been singled out, that I am not aware of? Can someone share this with me?

Second of all, we have to decide, as a community, what "pioneer" means? Is it someone in the public eye, disseminating information about this lifestyle to the masses? Does it have to be someone who only eats raw? If so, many of the people we call "pioneers" are not so. If it's not ok for someone to eat cooked food, then how long must they be completely raw in order to be considered a pioneer again? Does this apply to pasteurized juice? what about gel-chews that many distance athletes in the community eat? what about mangoes, they are often not raw due to common practices in preparing them for shipment? What about raw nuts and seeds, many of these are also not raw due to common shelling practices? What about processed foods like can or coconut sugar, agave nectar, coconut water, and dried fruits? Where is the line? Is it good enough that someone is disseminating the message that we, as a human race, need to carb-up, stop eating some of the crap that our individual governments label as "food" and wake up to the option of living a fruity, high-carb, bountiful, high- vibration lifestyle? Or must this individual, this "pioneer" if you will, only eat entirely raw fruits and vegetables, every meal, every day, for a determinate amount of time, in order to be given such a title? I just think the whole conversation is full of gaps because no one is the "authority" on who is/ what diet is considered raw and what is not.

In addition, what does this mean fro the WFF? Will some people boycott the WFF because Harley and Freelea are not titled "pioneers"? What does that mean for the continued information-dissemination to the masses of the benefits of this lifestyle? Is it better to display a more easily-attainable, carbed-up, fruit-focused lifestyle, with some addition of cooked carbs, that more people can obtain? Or is it better to display a raw-only, purity- focused lifestyle that less people can obtain? I don't want to sound biased, but I think the whole purity thing creates a huge pitfall for many newbies in this lifestyle.

I have been a part of this community for years and have had many ups and downs with the lifestyle and trying to stick-to purely eating raw, high-carb, fruit and veg. However, hearing Harley and Freelea, and a few other other people, namely Kristina Carrillo-Bucaram, Megan McDonnell, John Kohler, VIctoria Arnstein, Josh Fossgren, Chris Randall, Tarah Shannon, Adam Frewer, and Doug Graham, who have all been inspirations, leaders, and mentors for me, through their work, have shown me that there is no one right way to be raw, high carb, low fat, healthy, happy, vibrant vegan. Each one of them has shown me their own ways of dealing with the struggles on this lifestyle and that it's ok to deal with them in a constructive way, even if that way means integrating cooked carbs into my diet. I think it's very honest and brave. I have not seen any one of them denigrate the truth that raw fruit and vegetables are the best sources of energy and nutrition for our human bodies. However, some of them have simply expressed other ways of looking at the raw, high-carb, vegan lifestyle that include cooked foods. In addition, over these years on within this community, and specifically on this forum, I have seen a huge increase in members and interested, health-seekers coming to this lifestyle. I cannot for sure say that this is because of the message of a more-easily attainable diet (raw til 4/ adding in some cooked carbs, but focusing on fruit), but it makes sense.

I don't have an answer to all of the craziness that is going on with this festival or this community. I know for sure that I'm still going because not only do I want to be a part of a movement that I believe in, even with it's imperfections and small dramas here and there, but because as a high-carb, raw vegan, I need this for myself. I suggest anyone who can go, to go, for your own benefit.

What do you think? what determines raw? who determines raw? I believe the authorities on this matter should be us, the people of the high-carb, raw movement.

I've been watching Matt Warner's latest videos on youtube and he raises the point of sustainability on this lifestyle and the questions the origin and transport of the fruits (labor, environmental impact). I currently live in NY (Queens) and would love for all my fruits and vegetables to be local and preferably grown myself or within community. Perhaps we can create a community when we can do this year round. I believe food should be free. We shouldn't have to work jobs we are other than fond of to afford high quality organic fruits and vegetables. I don't know the answer or what can grow here year round, maybe we can use greenhouses or other techniques. But I do believe that if we come together as a community in NY it will be much easier to come up with a sustainable solution.

Lets all put our heads together to think of ideas and initiate some action!

I'm lucky that around my city there are quite a lot of wild mango trees that I can forage from in season, but I think if I started going around planting more and different varieties of trees here and there they would just be ripped out by council workers... So I thought maybe it would be a possibility, for example, to approach local/national environmental conservation groups (eg. Landcare Australia). If we could convince some big organisations to plant fruit bearing natives in some places that would be a start. Has anyone tried this before? Or planted trees around their community?

To inspire the community to plant trees in their own back yards is another big one. There should be community 'city farms' in every city where people can go to learn about permaculture and how they can grow their own food. Does anyone have a program like this in their city?

What are your ideas? How can we can spread our fruity love all over the world?

There'd be a whole room or at least section for a massage/reiki table area that at least one of us would use for our clients... so if you're a bodyworker or energyworker you're in luck :)

Hey guys,
I'll be heading to Kenya this 'winter', well European winter that is. Flying there on the 12th of the 12th.

Will be doing a 10dayVipassana meditation course there first, and visit Mfangano island.
There is a farmer called Joshua there, who let's me eat all the mangoes on his land since he isn't able to export them... There was another post on this from Wild Light here: http://www.30bananasaday.com/forum/topics/free-fruit-holiday?xg_source=activity

Funny enough, I didn't get in touch with Joshua through this website but he happened to find out that I was visiting Kenya and invited me to stay on his land. This all happened because we had similar friends on facebook...Small world, the fruitarian world. Anyway, I will also visit a Fruitarian community that is living on the same island, to see how they are doing. They have a site on facebook: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Fruitarian-Paradise-in-Africa/140935866028419

Don't know what to do considering Malaria, should I take any pills that I can take after it may have occurred? Talked to a friend that lived in Papua New Guinea and she told me ''oh yeah I had malaria once... Wasn't a big deal, still have it in my blood, am not allowed to donate my blood but that's all...'' Really? Does anyone here have any experience with malaria and/or yellow fever? Should I vaccinate? Well I don't want to, it doesn't make any sense to, but maybe there are some reasons to consider it? Other things to consider or any other tips on travelling to Kenya/Africa?

Any help would be great.

Wishing you all a great day filled with tasty seasonal fruit!

I have no family who love in london like most of my peers.

I really only need a floor or sofa, I have a sleeping bag, and can offer a contribution for letting me stay I will obviously be keeping myself in terms of food etc

I am looking to stay on the 3rd & the 4th of July just for the nights.

The event is at

Business Design Centre,

Islington

However anywhere in london is great because I can travel there easily. (and in return I believe I can give you guest passes for any day of the week that the event is on.)

Thank you

Jon

I'm going to be heading to the big island in a few months to purchase 3 to 6 acres in Puna. Looking to form a community.

My wife and I will be tenting while we build an earth bag home. We will be installing a rain collector and using passive solar heating for the shower facility. There will be no electric as this is off grid... but we are planning on experimenting with solar power to recharge small electronics.

We will be planting fruits and many gardens. There will be lots to do. A self sustaining environmentally friendly community should be a reality within a year.

After the community is started we are probably going to take off for South America for awhile. So it would be great to have plenty of people around.

Anyone is welcome to hang out and be a part of this amazing experience. There will be no costs to live on the property and no obligations... we hope to find and build the most amazing experience of life through this adventure and attract those whose needs and desires are to live this life.

Would anybody like to join us?
