Daniel spews crap about 'how to break down a chicken'...WTF? Did that chicken on the bench top just magically appear or did these guys go hunt it, shoot it with a high powered rifle (both Daniel & Franky G are too out of shape to run down a chicken) and then skin it, bleed it and pull its guts out thru its anus? Or did they drive the black SUV with the 18inch mags down to Wholefoods and act all justified n shit cos they read a dentists report on human health aka Weston A Price? (the dude actually promoted a vegetarian lifestyle but thats another thread).

What I do like about this vid is the back drop. The snow looks awsome and it helps dilute the crap Vitalis is spewing. How come Vitalis is getting fatter? I mean I thought high fat diets help you get fit, lean and strong? The only strength I see in Vitalis is his ability to car sales speak 'health' information to ignorant newbies that want something a little more upbeat than Lierre Kieth's psycho dribble.

PPS: Feel free to leave your comments on this video channel and give it likes/dislikes. ;)

Here is one of the places these guys get their 'chickens' from.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eALhgFaUhVY Note the guy at .06 going SSSSHHHH! to the chicken and note the chicken on the right still kick'n for its life and the mouth breathing rednecks go'n 'oh that them there is just nerves, its ok, the chicken is hav'n lot o fun n hav'n a lil' chick'n dance of its own, aint dat cute now!'

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eALhgFaUhVY

He advices 'first class proteins' and 'make sure to use one of the protein powders out there too'.Dorian also advise taking Udo's oil for EFA's.So we have the demographic group that consumes the biggest amounts of animal protein and they still say its not enough and you need to consume a protein powder. They also say its still not enough EFA's and you need a supp. Then we have arm chair athlete raw food MLM sales people that went to a "Get Rich Quick" sales night and after a few years of eating half a kiwi fruit and heaps of nut butters they say 'I wasnt getting enough protein on that raw vegan 1000calorie a day diet' so I need to consume some grass fed roadkill for protein and crack open a can of cat food for EFA's.I guess they are all screwed if even the champion bodybuilders taking super amounts of roid's and eating half a cow and school of fish a week STILL dont get enough EFA's & Amino acids...

I get many emails about Dr Mercola so its time I wrote a blog about it. Im sure he is a nice guy and here is my opinion of his confusing nutritional information.

Mercola advises people against eating a fruit salad but advises people follow 'metabolic typing' and eat fried chicken livers for breakfast and 'depending your metabolic typing, use pig fat or coconut oil...'

The dude is a snake oil salesman with a capital S. ;)

Mercola recently put up an informercial in the 'Huffington post' talking about the dangers of eating fruit 'cos its got fructose mate!'. The question I ask is how come they can never do a study on human fruit eaters vs using studies done on rats using GMO HFCS? That would be worth noting.

Mercola tried to 'debunk' the china study. For those that don't know what the China Study is, its just the most comprehensives nutritional study ever done..so its no big deal.. ;) It was put together by Dr Campbell and has over 700 studies corroborating its findings. Mercola said its not 'accurate'. Number of studies Dr Campbell has published?: Over 350. Number of studies Mercola has published?: ZERO.

Mercola even sells 'restravol' on his website. He does 'you the favour' of extracting the 'harmful sugars' from the grapes and then providing you with the 'left over antioxidants'... Hang on Mercola? Arent you just selling suckers the left overs from the wine industry?

One look at his site (the huffington post article had about 5 links in his article) and you have a whole plethora of 'industrial waste products' pedalled as 'superfoods' and 'latest breakthrough' in 'advanced nutrition'.

So, what is an industrial waste product? Well its something a company has left over and needs to be dumped. Whey, grape seeds/skins, fish oil etc..these are all left overs from food industry and big profits are to be made on gullible customers that buy into the hype the snakeoil crew spout during their informercials on late night tv, magazines, MLM flyers etc.

Also how come these 'guru's' all have pictures of fruits and vegetables on their sites/books etc to promote a healthy image but then go on to sell BS and say 'don't eat too much fruit now…fruit is bad!' I say 'yeah, bad for business!' ;)

Heck, just advise your customer base follows a low carb diet and in a few days their glycogen stores will be so low that they will be even more naive and malleable and help you make even more profit margins from selling BS to peeps that cant tell fact from fiction.

Here are some other observations Ive made recently..

*Has anyone ever wondered why the sudden emergence of 'longevity strategists' are always around 25 -35?

*Has anyone ever wondered why all the low carb diet guru's use the same photo shopped photo from 2 decades ago and or they NEVER have any real cardio fitness? (oh thats right, 'cardio is bad for you!')

*Has anyone ever wondered why despite all the miracles their low carb diet books promise, that the authors themselves don't have much more fitness and health than the average SAD eater?

*Has anyone ever wondered why the nations today that eat the least animal products and eat the most fruits/whole grains have better health and fitness than western crew that have more money than sense and buy into the carb phobia crapola?

So bottom line, question what is encouraged and by doing that, it will help you build up more 'critical thinking muscle' so you can decipher thru the confusion and marketing delusion. Sure there are lots of sincere people out there just trying to make a buck, but the majority of them are sincerely wrong. By keeping your glycogen, hydration and sleep levels stocked everyday, this will help you stay on track when others get trapped in the mud pit of the 'sales pitch'.

I was out training this morning and was at the start of a 6km long mountain climb. A fellow bunch of cyclists passed me and I jumped on the back of them. They obviously didnt race cos they didnt know I was there and a few minutes on of the guys said 'Did you see that guy? He is a vegan?' and one rider replied 'You need to eat meat to get up this climb!' and they all had a "barry barnes" laugh about it. Then as the pace got hotter and hotter I piped up 'you guys having an easy day today?' . They got a shock and just rode even harder.

Now there is only 3 of us left. So I ride past the last 2 with no hands and just wait for em to catch up. Then with 1km to go I put 1:20 into em. I waited for em at the top and rolled past saying 'good ride guys..'.

Being a vegan lets me train harder and stay healthy so the fitness just builds up over the years and now I can blow the doors off 99% of the people I go riding with up long hills.

I dont think they will discount a vegan again. :)

But I dont blame people cos it is an urban myth that you will die of protein wastage if you dont have bacon and poultry ovulations for breakfast each morning. Vegan athletes of today and yesteryear are not only proving you can be a world class athlete but they are showing you that you will improve your own personal bests and with less chance of cancer, heart disease, obesity, stroke and hormonal issues.

Not to mention the environmental benefits, karma, world hunger etc that is lessend massively when people eat a vegan diet. We become better, healthier athletes and its better for the animals and the planet? Sounds tasty to me! :)

Aajonus Vonderplanitz is from California and his real name is Dick something. He was an actor on General Hospital turn diet guru overnight. He has a self appointed Phd in nutrition. In an interview with Stanley Bass Aajonus said "I have always since age of 3, craved orgasim."

He has a book called 'We want to live' and its written like a novel. Very entertaining reading but for the uninformed, very dangerous information. Aajonus talks about eating green bananas vs ripe ones and that you should eat lots of white bread baguettes with raw unsalted butter if you get low blood sugar. But sweet fruit is bad he says.

A good friend of mine and ex housemate was an Aajonus fan. She ate his high fat, low fruit diet and I personally felt she suffered the whole time from melancholy, fatigue and binge prone eating as I later found out. She ended up getting some food poisoning from animal products and decided to do an unsupervised fast with phone guidance from 'dont eat more than a banana a day' John Fielder. She got real dehydrated and ended up in hospital on life support and passed away soon after from renal failure. I was in Thailand at the time and know for fact that had she not eaten this high fat, animal based diet, she would be here today and a different person.

All of the people that I have met that eat raw animal products have experienced varing levels of dental decay. From missing teeth to increasing cavities. Its no suprise with the amount of high acid load animal products that are consumed. Lots of raw milk, cream, eggs, cow muscle and bird. Apparently its meant to raise b12 levels but all of my friends that have shared their blood tests with me have low to borderline b12 serum levels.

Aajonus came to Australia last year and gave a talk in Robina QLD. I knew 3 people that attended and they shared how Aajonus was sick from food poisoning the whole time. He had to cut his talk off early and spent the day and night vomiting in a bath tub and over the balcony outside. When question what was wrong, Aajonus said 'I was poisoned by the Thai mafia..' Yep.

He charged one of my friends 400$AUS for a 1hr consult. Fair enough but let me tell you what my friend got told..

Aajonus looked as his scalp and said: You have a very rare fungal infection and need to consume no water, eat green bananas and put a pin hole in some eggs and leave them on a window seal for 30-40days until they turn black and then eat them. So my friend did and he ended up taken to hospital in an ambulance when his throat shut right up and he felt like he was going to die. They have him IV antibiotics and steriods to fight the infection that was raging in this throat/lymph glands. My friend then when released from h ospital said he felt better and that his diet had 'promoted a cleanse he was not ready for'...

I asked him what is the difference between food poisoning and a cleanse? He said 'well if its raw meat and you get sick, its a cleanse and if its cooked meat and you get sick its food poisoning'.. Really? How do we explain all those people that died of Ecoli, listeria, botulism, stiga spores, salmonella, camphobacteria from eating animal products or foods contaminated from animal products...

Here is a link from Dr Ralph Moss reviewing Aajonus Vonderplanitz book 'we want to live'.

http://www.ralphmoss.com/html/Vonderplanitz.shtml

Aajonus also recommends eating animal products for b12. But he says its not enough and you must put some meat in a glass jar and leave it in the fridge for a few months to 'get high'. Im talking black, green and blue 'high'. He also advise coprophagia (eating your own shite). One recipie Aajonus Vonderplanitz advises is 'a cut of fatty meat, smeared with your own faeces and put inside a glass jar in the fridge for 6months plus.'

Now this is coming from the guy that said he was a 'vegetarian sort of vegan' and ended up cycling out in the desert and almost dying but was saved by wild coyotes that killed a rabbit for him and made him eat it. He got healed within hours of his cancer. Yet Aajonus has NEVER shown any evidence of any of his 'hundreds of heart attacks/deathly cancer'. Maybe the word fraud is being generous.

For example, he claims that he has helped heal over 200 people of
cancer with his approach. He has said this *publicly* in print. And
yet he refuses to provide *any* evidence of these cases. And to the
best of my knowledge, no one has come forward testifying that they
were one of the folks healed by AV.

The same goes for his own diseases that he claims to have overcome.
They are numerous and quite serious. Surely there is a record
somewhere that he had some of these challenges. Yet nothing, as far as
I know, has been put forth by AV. Such an approach makes it very
difficult to go to bat for him.

My goal of this thread is to bring more information to this person who claims a lot but cant back any of it up. Ive watched his DVD and the highlight is an old man that claims he is in superior health and can now skip rope for a few minutes. Serious.

So next time you need some water, remember, you cant drink water and that Aajonus says 'deep yellow urine is a sign of health' so perhaps just put a tub of raw butter in the dehydrator and melt it down and drink that instead..

Here is someones review on Lierre Keith who wrote the book 'vegetarian myth'. I guess she didnt call it vegan myth cos the rednecks that would read this sort of book for flesh consumption inspiration & justification wouldnt even know what a vegan was. :)

Lierre was a vegan/vegetarian..you know, bit of this bit of that..heck, if you have a dairy allergy, just blame it on the vegan part of your diet!

Apparently Lierre went to a qi qong practioner and they said 'you must eat flesh or you will die!' Heck, Ive been told that by some sincere but sincerely wrong, over weight, out of shape crew in the health scene before.

Overweight and out of shape Daniel Vitalis is a big fan of this book. I would be too if it helped sell my customers more of my product line and fad dietary prescription.

Come on Harley, stop being a downer and giving flakes a hard time..ok, enough from me and here is the review by anonymous.

The Myth of Thinking You Know Everything: Or, the Dangers of Applying the Personal to the Whole (312/396 votes)

I read this book because it's gotten so much attention from the vegan community --- mainly in the form of anger and outrage. So, for the sake up being up front: I am a vegan. And I did read the book, with as open a mind as possible.

Let me also say from the get-go that not everything in this book did I find to be unfair and/or absurd. Keith certainly makes provocative, interesting, passionate arguments about many things --- much of which has already been pointed out ad nauseum from the fanclub here on Amazon. That's not to say that I agree with hardly anything (maybe "agree" is not the right word; maybe it's more accurate to say that I don't see the world the same way Lierre Keith does).

What's very bothersome for me about this book, and it's entire premise, is that it makes, on the issue of veganism in particular, such sweeping generalizations based on one person's experience and the observations made by that one person. In other words, every single person who is vegan is lumped together --- as if our entire process toward and experience of animal rights/veganism is exactly the same and will yield the same results.

And I have to wonder: Does Lierre Keith get out much?

My own coming to veganism is even related to Keith's experience, either. I do not have an eating disorder, nor do I have a rigid or sociopathic, angry personality (Keith claims that only ill people are drawn into the "cult" of veganism). I am not anorexic or orthorexic. Yes, it's true: some vegans are crazy people. There are crazy Scientologists, crazy fundamentalist Christians, crazy people who fight for civil rights, crazy people who don't really care about anything at all. Which is just to say: if you haven't noticed, there are crazy people everywhere. And there are also amazing people who fit into the categories I listed above --- people who have nuanced views of the world, and who attempt to lead ethical, compassionate lives. And most of the vegans I know are wonderful, caring, smart, hard-working responsible people who do not harbor illusions/delusions about the world.

I am particularly horrified by Keith's assertion that vegans are naive (read: stupid) when it comes to matters of life and death. I know full well that animals die in order to grow the plants upon which I live. I also am fully aware of the horrors of industrial agriculture and how destructive civilization is, in general, towards this planet. But I still don't think this discredits the merits and ethics of veganism.

Keith also implies that by virtue of being vegan, all vegans claim that eating animal products is bad for human health. I don't. I don't think science will ever unequivocally say that animal products, in moderation, are ever "bad" for humans when it comes to disease or health. That's not the point. I know it's bad for animals, regardless of how they are raised.

Keith very clearly blames her health woes on veganism. But veganism, in and of itself, is not a diet. There are a thousand different ways of eating vegan, and I am convinced there are very healthy ways and very unhealthy ways of doing it. Same for being an omnivore. Keith doesn't really describe the kind of diet she blames for destroying her health, other than the fact that it was plant-based. Certainly, some people's constitutions are more sensitive than others, and we all have different nutritional needs, but Keith doesn't provide any proof that human needs cannot be met on a carefully planned vegan diet. And just to reiterate: some people probably need to emphasize the careful planning. There are pro-vegan medical professionals -- like Dr Klaper, for instance, who's conducting the Vegan Health Study --- who clearly recognize that there is no one-size-fits-all vegan diet plan. There probably never will be --- just like omnivorism.

I have an auto-immune disease (a non-life threatening one). I was a meat eater when I was diagnosed with it, and to be perfectly honest, I was also one of those free-range, organic, grassfed, blah blah blah animal eaters--because I once thought that was good for animals. And I had been for quite a long time. By Keith's logic, my auto-immune disease should be blamed on my omnivorism. When I became vegan almost a decade ago, my auto-immune disease eased up a little, but it certainly hasn't gone away. I doubt it ever will, unless some sort of miracle occurs. Trust me: I want to blame my disease on eating animal products, and I want the cure to be eating plants. But that isn't to be the case. I find it disturbing that Keith plays nutritional authority, and with such zeal.

Finally, in my eyes, Keith comes off as exactly the same kind of personality she criticizes in her own experience of the vegan community: rigid and absolutist. Now that it appears Keith has found a savior in Weston Price and the vitures of eating animals, it's simply the same personality with a different set of values to preach to the world. But Keith claims that growing up and taking responsibility for her food and the "necessity" of eating animals means that she's grown up.

But being a grown up, in my most humble opinion, lies in the knowledge that not a single one of us is the absolute authority; being a grown up is realizing that the world is complicated and nuanced and messy. It's not this or that. It's this and that.

What makes veganism such a beautiful, appealing idea to me --- and it's really what I would always hope to convey to others --- is that there is magic in the intention to not harm. I don't think being a vegan makes me better than any one else. Or more wise or righteous. But it does contribute, in a very concrete way, in diminishing human domination --- a theme of this book --- in a way that is not addressed or explored. It also directly addresses the real lives of non-human animals --- whom I do not believe exist for human purposes. I believe, unlike other animals, humans have a choice about what we consume. Why shouldn't we make the decision that causes the least harm?

This book would be more intellectually honest, interesting and readable had the author simply reported her own experiences---acknowledging that individual experience is just that, rather than applying her life to all of us. A grown up wise person doesn't blame, s/he investigates, questions and searches her soul for answers. It's unfathomable to me that someone who claims to have once been a committed vegan, and understands the fullness of that path, would become an advocate for Happy Meat (TM). Just like the rest of us, I suspect there's still some growing up left to do.

For those that dont know Im big time troll and am on ALL the forums out there posing as various characters. My intention is keep up to date with trends in nutrition etc so I can relate to people better and give better advice.

Here are some posts from various forums by people following a carb phobic diet. Can you spot the similarities? Fatigue, apathy, depression, cravings, binges etc?

#I started Primal Blueprint week, and I'm still adjusting. The problem is that I am a mountain bike and cyclocross racer, and for the time being, plan to stick with a pretty conventional training plan for such. (I do plan on starting to do the five essential moves bodyweight exercises on my days off the bike.)

The problem is that I got completely drained during my workouts last week, which is bad because I didn't go 100%. I think Friday's ride should have been easy if I were at normal strength, but since I was weaker than normal, trying to keep up with the group required full glycogen-burning effort. I woke up Saturday morning feeling like I had a hangover, and have basically just been resting and experimenting various levels of sweet potatoes and fruit trying to get the weak, empty feeling out of my legs.

How long does it take to feel normal again for an athlete? I'm not sure if it's a not-enough-carbs problem or just an adjustment problem. I don't want to eat too many carbs, because I'm hoping for that satisfied, don't need to eat every two hours feeling that I keep hearing about. As it is, I'm still hungry every two hours and my muscles are weak. Advice?

#I only limit fat intake before athletic activities, and I do so because I find that eating it in the quantities that many on this forum do makes me feel sluggish and "off." However, I see no reason (in your situation) to limit fat in general.

#Eat more fats. Some days I do 2 dozen eggs. Mark Sisson advices a dozen eggs for newbies. Read the tips and hints. Build up slowly and just eat more fats if your hungry or feel weak in training. Sometimes I take a flask of organic coconut oil and sip it all day. Helps keep blood sugar stable with the medium chain fatty acids.

You could fill up a camelbak with coconut oil and just sip it every few minutes during training. That way you could keep your gloves on and keep training. Try it and see how much you improve.

Expecting our body to perform by not eating enough fat isnt going to get us very far in our quest for Grok like peformance.

#

I'd add more and more fat and see if you can go with less and less carbs. It'll be a rough transition though. Your body is currently using carbs for the main source of fuel and you want to use fat instead. Eva (who I rarely see post here anymore) does a great deal of intensive sports and training and is 95% carnivorous.

#

Id up the fat and if you cant train proper then you shouldnt be doing that sport cos its too much cardio and glycogen dependent. Doing stuff that makes us need to eat more carbs is conter productive IMHO. I used to be a gun runner but stopped a year ago cos I heard how bad cardio is for the heart. Eating carbs is just gonna wreck your insulin levels and give unstable glucose. There was no bananas or potatoes back in the paleo days. There was just greens and fats.

I just do some heavy lifting instead these days. After about 20 minutes in, my shoulders burn from holding my arms up and quite frankly, they feel no stronger than big lumps of jello. The people I box with have noticed that my performance has dropped too - quite depressing really. Is this a nutrition issue? Lack of carbs? (I'm around 100 to 150 grams of carbs a day and 5'11", 154lbs.)Advice will be much appreciated

#You will need to get some decent carbs in you for your boxing sessions (and in my opinion immediately after). When I was boxing and trying to get down to make weight I used to be on a fairly spartan diet for a few weeks at a time with almost no carbs. The result in performance was considerably less energy and slower reactions (damn getting hit in the head more during those periods).

My advice for what its worth, on your boxing days eat some decent carbs that day (more than 2 hours before) and if it comes down to it have the dreaded energy drink or a small bag of lollies handy. Not primal but beats having your skull battered more than normal on those days.

#This what I thought I needed to do but just wasn't sure if it was some kind of carb deficit that was creating the problem. - Punched in the head.. yeah.. it's been happening more since I've taken a low carb approach!

thanks for the reply - really helpful.

#I know that primal works from my own experience as far as weight control, and that it's also good for health, but I do wonder why Asians are traditionally thin, even though their meals are traditionally high in carbs, specifically rice. That shiny, energetic feeling that had faded and had been fading for years. My teeth ached and I had recurrent fungal problems. I was chronically hungry (actually the correct term is "starving"), and powerfully addicted to fruit sugar. The more I learned about the dangers of food the more foods I cut out of my diet. There was so little left that I could eat. At this time I didnt eat oils or salt. I didnt use herbs or spices, just fruits and vegetables, seeds and nuts and oh, so many nuts! My digestion was poor and getting worse.

3. I was now getting enough calories to sustain a healthy body weight (wanna lose weight fast? try living on celery, apples, carrots and almonds).

So how did Daniel eat his way back too cooked foods and animal products? (And Im glad he did so he didnt die or commit suicide like a few 'raw' people have in the recent years)

Well at first he started undereating cos there is a lot breatharian believers out there in the raw community- Paul Nison, David Wolfe, David Jubb, Matt Monarch, Gabriel Cousins etc and these are the peeps that have the books out there that the newbies read, belive and then try and emulate. So Daniel was told early that fruit is bad and you need to eat more fats. So those extra fats comes from nuts and eaten in large amounts will rot your teeth and thrash your energy and digestion and all that excess fat intake will give you fungal issues (candida) for sure.

Daniel Vitalis- Just another dude that wanted to improve his health and got sucked into the anorexic, money driven, drug addiction, confusion and delusion that is put out there by fruit phobics of the 'healthy industry'.

Eat less! If you get sugar cravings then you aint done enough rebirthing yet! You need to stop drinking water and do lots of bikram yoga and eat raw egg yolks that have been sitting on the window sill for 47 days. You need to eat local foods and when you want something sweet, feel free to eat some cacao imported from the other side of the globe cos fruit imported is bad for my business but if I sold fruit Id recommend it. Oh now you dont have much energy left to function both mentally and phsyically? Your enamel is eroding from all that bulimia, high fat diet and ketosis? Well you just need my latest green mushroom intelligence powder and my latest recipie book, that should do it. Heck you just need more ayahuasca man!

Keep hang'n in their champ, Ive always got new products coming out that just might one day help you. In the mean time, everytime you go and eat cooked food, just remember that its got nothing to do with undereating sweet fruit calories but just cos your weak willed. You are weak, pathetic and dont know much. Give me your mastercard number and bow to me as I am your RAW guru!
