Hi everyone! My name is Amy, I had a question that I thought was interesting but I didn't know how to answer it. I've been on the high carb low fat vegan lifestyle for about 3 months and my hormones are still very unbalanced. I still have skin problems, no period and mood swings. I've been gaining weight primarily over my waist making me look like a rectangle and making me feel very not sexy, but I know this is all part of recovery and if I stick with it long enough that it will go away. I've been reading a bit into water fasting and how to let the body heal itself fully and I was curious as to if this is a good idea for hormonal problems and will it help my body really take the time to heal itself and help me cure my acne and get my period back? What are everyone else's thoughts?I was thinking only a week long fast in a secure environment, would this even help?

Hey everybody...

I just signed up. I thought maybe it might be a good idea to get some support from people who are on the same path...

first little history: (i am 23 years old now)

i am coming from an extreme background of drug abuse since i was born (so obviously not by choice) and followed by eating disorders since i was 12... i had to throw up for 3 years i guess... and then last year it stopped....

when it stopped i was interested in healing my body...or putting in the right food so i searched and found freelees videos... i watched a few of them and became interested in this vegan thing...than i watched the videos with the animals being abused and i cried and went vegan over night... on may 27th 2014

Since i had those eating disorders i never ate the right things, i drank tons of coffee, high fat low carb....basically: i did everything wrong :)

my weight went up and down but i always was normal weight (good figure) and one year i was really underweight . ... my lowest was 50 kg with 1,70 m hight.....also did much sport in my teenage years.... always moving and outside basically....

i always had perfect skin! ...never had problems with pimples...

3 years ago i went to thailand for 2 month and there my skin started to break out ...my nose was always the worst... always pimples on my nose... since then i had to fight my skin becoming more and more bad (but even then it was kind of okey)...W

WHEN i went vegan ... i somehow knew...that all those toxins flowing through my body had to go....and when my body realized that the torture ended, everything seemed to come out...

i sometimes drink lepacho tea to help the detoxing...it is very good...tried to eat the most fruit i can, stopped drinking coffee, fatty foods....

and i felt great.... but since then i always had kind of "detox phases" where i had all sorts of detox symtoms ....

I know this is not something that goes away over night so its okey....

but i still get from time to time extreme breakouts, especially on my nose and it is so annoying because it leaves me with those scars in the middle of my face... i try to cure it with natural remedies...

i read that the nose is linked to the liver and that the inflammations on the nose show that the liver is still not "clean"...

the other thing is that since eating enough i gained about 14 kg since going vegan

at the start 2014 may : about 61 kg

January 2015: 75 kg

now 2015: about 73

i know many are talking about initial weight gain... i watched so many videos and the most of them are talking about 5 kg or something similar :D but i gained 14 kg...thats... much ...

my question is : is this still normal ?

i really follow a hclf vegan diet...especially last year i ate almost no fat and salt at all...

the only thing i am struggling with i sleeping because of sleeping disorders...

i started to do fitness and slowly increased the amount of sport so that i don't give up and never do it again...

my second question is, does anyone know having breakouts on the nose?

and this long detox phase ?

i know i will stay vegan...but i need a little bit of ...your experiences ...to stay on track and be patient.....

wouh....long story short: is a very long healing phase normal IF there has been an extreme damage ?

An In-Depth Discussion of Metabolic Types and the Transition To Health

You will need to go through what I call the transition to restore your metabolism, achieve an ideal body composition and obtain optimum health. The transition is a journey of healing. You can only be in your transition if you are improving your nutrition and lifestyle habits.

During your transition your hormones will change in response to the nutrition and lifestyle changes you make and this allows you to heal. However, you will not have balanced hormones immediately—balanced hormones do not occur overnight. There are sequential steps of healing that everyone must take.

When you initiate your transition process by improving your habits, your body will begin to rebalance its hormones. Your body will also rebuild all its functional and structural biochemicals that were not made efficiently during your previous poor habits. The more damaged your current metabolism, the longer it will take for this process to be completed.

By taking the time to follow the necessary steps in the Schwarzbein Principle Program to balance your hormones, you will heal your metabolism. When you have healed your metabolism, you are primed to lose fat weight, if needed. Once you have lost all your stored fat, you are through your transition.

The Four Transition Stages

For most people, the transition to a healthy metabolism and optimal health consists of four main stages. Here is what you may expect as you journey through your transition to health. You begin at your initial starting point and then enter a healing phase that may consist of a self-medicating phase. Then you enter a fat burning phase, if you need to burn fat before you finally reach a healed state. Depending on your current metabolism, your body may skip the healing and/or fat-burning phases.

Let's look at each stage in more detail:

Initial starting point

Healing phase

Fat-burning phase

Healed state

The Initial Starting Point

The initial starting point is your current metabolism type and age when you start improving your habits and begin entering your transition. Listed to the right are the four metabolism types an individual can have.

Insulin-sensitive with healthy adrenal glands

Insulin-sensitive with burned-out adrenal glands

Insulin-resistant with healthy adrenal glands

Insulin-resistant with burned-out adrenal glands

These metabolism types are not genetic but acquired. Everyone begins life insulin-sensitive with healthy adrenal glands. It is only after years of poor nutrition and lifestyle habits that you may become insulin-resistant or have burned-out adrenal glands—or have both conditions.

Your age and how long you have had your current metabolism affect the duration of your transition. The older you are and the longer your metabolism has been damaged, the longer it will take for you to complete your transition.

Your Goal

Your goal is to stay or become insulin-sensitive and to have healthy adrenal glands or to heal them. Therefore, the goal metabolism to have is insulin sensitive with healthy adrenal glands.

If you are starting out with this metabolism, your transition to healing requires improving your daily habits to keep from damaging your metabolism.

If you start out insulin-resistant with healthy adrenal glands, your goal is to become insulin-sensitive and keep your adrenal glands healthy.

If your current metabolism is insulin-sensitive with burned-out adrenal glands, your goal is to stay insulin-sensitive and heal your adrenal glands.

If you are insulin-resistant with burned-out adrenal glands, you must heal both sides of your metabolism to reach your goal of insulin-sensitive with healthy adrenal glands.

Insulin-sensitive

It is normal to be insulin-sensitive. You are insulin-sensitive if your body responds to all the actions of insulin, including the ability to make and store fats.

The following is what happens when you eat carbohydrates if you are insulin sensitive:

Sugar is taken up by your liver.

Excess sugar in your liver is turned into triglycerides and cholesterol.

Triglycerides and cholesterol are taken up by various cells of your body.

Sugar is also taken up by your cells.

When all the sugar and fats are in your cells, blood-sugar levels start to drop and insulin levels go back down.

You eat again and the whole process starts all over

Note, however, that just as with insulin resistance, you can gain fat weight around your midsection when you are insulin-sensitive. Therefore, do not confuse having excess fat weight around your midsection with being insulin-resistant (see below).

Insulin-resistant

Eventually, from sustained high levels of insulin, you become completely insulin-resistant. All your cells are completely overfilled with fats and sugar, and they barely respond to the action of insulin. At this point you usually have high triglyceride blood levels. (High triglyceride levels are not indicators of insulin resistance only. Smoking, stress, birth control pills and drinking alcohol can raise triglyceride levels in your bloodstream also, but that does not necessarily mean that you are insulin-resistant. Do not diagnose yourself as insulin-resistant from your triglyceride blood test alone.)

When you are insulin-resistant, you have high fasting insulin levels, you usually carry your excess fat weight around your midsection and you have one or more of the following symptoms or diseases.

Abnormal cholesterol profiles: High triglyceride levels with low high-density lipoprotein (HDL) levels and high apolipoprotein B levels.

Hypertension: Sustained high blood pressure.

Type II diabetes: Sustained high levels of sugar in the bloodstream.

Coronary atheroscelrosis: Plaques in the heart arteries which may cause a heart attack when they rupture.

Cerebral atheroscelrosis: Plaques in the brain which may cause a stroke when they rupture.

Cancers: Abnormal cell growth. Breast, prostate and colon cancers are the most common cancers associated with high insulin levels.

Stein Leventhal Syndrome (SLS): SLS is a female clinical condition of infertility (anovulatory menstrual cycles), acne and/or facial hair.

There are three paths that lead to insulin resistance:

Years of high insulin levels due to poor nutrition and lifestyle habits.

Years of high adrenaline and/or cortisol levels due to poor nutrition and lifestyle habits.

Years of high insulin, adrenaline and cortisol levels due to poor nutrition and lifestyle habits.

If you recognize that you are on any of these paths, now is the time to change your habits!

Are you insulin-sensitive, insulin-resistant, or on the way to becoming insulin-resistant? Identify yourself here (check one):
___I am insulin-sensitive.

___I am insulin-sensitive on the way to insulin-resistance

___I am insulin-resistant.

___I am not sure, so I want to be tested; see Get Tested

Are Your Adrenal Glands Healthy or Burned Out?

Your adrenal glands make both adrenaline and cortisol. Years of over-secreting these two hormones can burn out your adrenal glands. If you have burned out your adrenal glands, you need to restore their function before you can achieve optimum health.

You have healthy adrenal glands if you can stop all your high adrenaline and/or cortisol habits cold turkey without experiencing withdrawal symptoms and completely falling apart emotionally and/or physically.

If you are addicted to white sugar, caffeine, nicotine, diet pills, alcohol, over-exercising and/or street drugs, or if you are always tired, have a "fuzzy" brain or cannot handle stressful situations, your adrenal glands are probably burned out or you are self-medicating to continue your high stress lifestyle.

Your adrenal glands are burned out if your adrenal saliva test shows low cortisol levels throughout the day.

Do you have healthy or burned-out adrenal glands? Are you on the path to burning them out? Identify yourself here (check one):

___I have healthy adrenal glands.

___I have healthy adrenal glands, but I am on a path to burning them out

___I have burned-out adrenal glands.

___I do not know so I want to be tested; see Testing

Now, put together your insulin status and your adrenal gland state to identify your current metabolism type (check one):

___I am insulin-sensitive and have healthy adrenal glands.

___I am insulin-sensitive and have burned-out adrenal glands.

___I am insulin-resistant and have healthy adrenal glands.

___I am insulin-resistant and have burned-out adrenal glands.

The Healing Phase

In the healing phase your body will repair itself from the damage caused previously by years of poor nutrition and lifestyle habits. You always have higher insulin than adrenaline/cortisol levels during this phase because this is a rebuilding time.

It may seem as if you are in suspended animation during this phase because though you are healing, it doesn’t feel or seem that way. As you improve your habits, you are rebuilding your biochemicals at a much higher rate than you are using them up, and this causes you to feel tired and to gain fat weight.

During the healing phase you expose your current metabolism because your hormones will react to your new and improved nutrition and lifestyle habits and reflect their true state.

If you are insulin sensitive, your insulin levels will fluctuate appropriately with your carbohydrate intake; if you are insulin resistant, your insulin levels will stay high while you are healing. For example, if you are insulin sensitive, your fasting insulin levels are within normal ranges, and when you eat carbohydrates, your levels rise to match your carbohydrate intake so your body can process the food. Once you process your food, your insulin levels come back down to normal.

But if you are insulin resistant, your fasting insulin levels are already higher than normal, and they will stay high even if you improve your eating habits until you have become insulin sensitive again.

If your adrenal glands are healthy, your adrenaline/ cortisol levels will respond appropriately to your habits.

If your adrenal glands are "burned out", your adrenaline/cortisol levels will stay low until your glands have had a chance to heal. You have worn them out and depleted their ability to respond as they would under normal circumstances

Here is what happens to your hormones during your healing phase
--depending upon your current metabolism

If you are insulin sensitive with healthy adrenal glands, your hormones will immediately become balanced when you improve your habits; therefore, you are instantly through your healing phase. See Chapter 18 of The Schwarzbein Principle II for more information about your healing program.

If you are insulin resistant with healthy adrenal glands, your insulin levels will remain high despite your improved habits until your body has a chance to heal and you become insulin sensitive again, but your adrenaline/cortisol levels will normalize immediately.See Chapter 19 of The Schwarzbein Principle II for more information about your healing program.

If you are insulin sensitive with burned out adrenal glands, your insulin levels will respond appropriately to your improved habits, but your adrenaline and cortisol levels will stay low while your adrenal glands heal, but they will normalize when you have completely healed. See Chapter 20 of The Schwarzbein Principle II for more information about your healing program.

If you are insulin resistant with burned out adrenal glands, your insulin levels will remain high, and your adrenaline/cortisol levels will remain low. As you heal, your insulin and adrenaline/cortisol levels will slowly normalize. See Chapter 21 of The Schwarzbein Principle II for more information about your healing program.

Unfortunately, your body will not start working efficiently the moment you improve your habits. As previously stated, you did not damage your metabolism overnight, and you will not heal it overnight. During the healing phase, you are still hormonally out of balance.

As your body begins to correct this imbalance, you may experience any number of disturbing symptoms. (The SPII individual program for your current metabolism type is designed to make your transition easier by minimizing these disturbing symptoms.)

For example, as your adrenaline/cortisol levels drop, you may feel withdrawal symptoms such as fatigue, irritability and depression. As your insulin levels rise, you may gain fat weight and/or experience salt and water retention.

The more damaged your current metabolism is, the longer you will need to stay in the healing phase and the more fat your body produces. In fact, as your ratio of insulin to adrenaline/cortisol increases, your symptoms will worsen.

As awful as this may sound, this is your body’s only way to heal. So do not be put off by the healing phase—it is simply a reflection of the damage that came before it. Since insulin is a rebuilding hormone and adrenaline and cortisol are using up hormones, you can only heal from years of using up your biochemicals by rebuilding them — this means higher insulin to adrenaline/cortisol levels. Unfortunately, even though you begin to improve your habits, the damage has already been done by your previous poor habits. Therefore, you will not instantly reap the rewards of your better habits.

For example, when people stop smoking, they may gain a lot of fat weight and feel tired and listless. They usually tell me they never should have stopped smoking because now they feel lousy and are fat besides.

What they don't realize is that the only way their bodies can heal is by raising their insulin levels higher than their adrenaline levels, so they will gain fat weight as their bodies heal from years of smoking.

The damage occurred while they were smoking, not after they stopped. The only way to avoid having to heal from smoking is to never smoke in the first place.

If you are a smoker, the best thing you can do for your health is to quit and begin healing from years of using up your biochemicals more than rebuilding them from nicotine use.

The Self-Medicating Phase

Since your insulin levels must be higher than your adrenaline/cortisol levels to heal, it does not always feel very good to be in the healing phase of your transition. It is during this time that the self-medicating phase becomes important in keeping you on your path to restoring your metabolism.

In this phase you use one or more of the following to make yourself feel good enough to continue your healing process: small amounts of stimulants, alcohol and refined sugars. Over-exercising is also a form of self-medication. Self-medicating makes you feel better in the short-term because using up your biochemicals always feels better than rebuilding them.

In the self-medicating phase you still have higher insulin than adrenaline/cortisol levels, but you narrow the gap between your rate of rebuilding and using up. Your self-medicating habits raise your adrenaline/cortisol levels closer to your insulin levels, and you prolong your transition because self-medicating keeps you closer to your current metabolism than to your goal metabolism.

It is sometimes necessary to self-medicate to get through your transition, especially if you begin with burned out adrenal glands. The Schwarzbein Principle II outlines the best ways to self-medicate if you need to.

Do not make the mistake of thinking you are self-medicating if you have not changed any of your habits! You cannot "be good" part of the time and revert to your poor habits the rest of the time. If you over self-medicate and your adrenaline/cortisol levels get higher than your insulin levels, you will no longer be in your transition process, and you will continue to damage your metabolism.

The Fat-Burning Phase

The fat-burning phase of the transition occurs after your body has done all its rebuilding in the healing phase.

You begin your fat burning phase only after your hormones are completely normalized and your metabolism is healed. Only then is your body ready to burn off the rest of your stored fat if it needs to. All of your symptoms of fluctuating adrenaline, cortisol and/or insulin will be gone, and you will feel great. During this phase you will be rebuilding and using up your functional and structural biochemicals again at an equal rate.

The Healed State

The healed state is when all of your hormones are balanced, your metabolism has healed and you have achieved your ideal body composition. You are now through your transition. When you are in this state, you are rebuilding as many biochemicals as you are using up and have the lowest risk for the degenerative diseases of aging.

Timing is Everything

The time it takes to go through the transition is different for everyone. The transition to a healthy metabolism can occur very quickly, or it can take months or years to complete.

If you have a healthy metabolism, you will be able to complete your transition quickly once you change your nutrition and lifestyle habits. If you begin with a badly damaged metabolism, however, it may take you years to completely heal. But you can heal. It is never too late. You are closer than you think.

Why Haven't I Lost Weight Yet?

During the transition from a damaged metabolism to a healed one, you will become healthier—but you will not have the body composition you want right away. Why? Because you first need to heal your metabolism before you can achieve your ideal body composition. You need to be healthy to lose weight, not lose weight to be healthy. It is only when you have completely healed your metabolism that you are primed for losing all your excess storage fat.
Do not confuse losing weight according to the bathroom scale with losing excess fat weight. If you lose weight while your metabolism is still damaged you are not just losing storage fat—you are also losing your functional and structural proteins and fats and causing further damage to your metabolism. And since protein weighs more than fat, you may think that the lower number on the scale is a good thing when it is not.

The key to becoming and staying healthy is to burn off your storage fats while retaining your functional and structural proteins and fats.

It Takes Time to Heal

The time it takes to heal your metabolism is normal and unavoidable. You may as well start to heal now; there is no alternative. The sooner you start your transition, the sooner you will get through it and obtain optimum health.

For those of you who are starting off with a damaged metabolism, you cannot escape the time it takes to heal, but you will have the advantage of knowing what you need to do to shorten your transition time.

Disclaimer: The information contained on this web site has not been evaluated by the FDA. I have quite poor digestion, without getting too graphic, i dont think my body is processing food properly, things are definitely not normal. I'm also constantly bloated and quite tired (i sleep 9+ hrs) and sometimes my depression flares up. At the moment im having banana date smoothies or watermelon for breakfast, usually dried dates/figs with more fruit for lunch (mango, peaches usually), dinner is either corn pasta, potatoes or rice and on most days I have alot of vegetables and legumes with it. To make up calories i have cereal (wheat cereals) with almond milk, total about 2700. Is my body just adjusting to this lifestyle? I havent heard of this happening to anyone else? To give a breif history - I came from anorexia and exercise addiction, quite severe, lasted 3 years and I was admitted to hospital at my worst 1.5 years ago, became vegan when I left 1 year ago. I still get pains in my bones when I exercise although im weight restored (~60kg) and developed a heart murmur.

Is there any chance I can completely heal on this lifestyle? I just dont know what to expect, my body is reacting differently than I wanted. I dont want to gain any more weight, as i think that would be a massive trigger for my eating disorder and restrictive behaviours. I have so much to ask, so sorry if this is a huge question. What can I expect?

Ok fruit bats, here's the situation. I have a friend who I've known since 3rd grade. Her mom was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer last week. This is a mom who is active in our community. She always knows who is sick or needs help, and without fail has always been the first to volunteer her time. She is on the SAD, gets little sleep, and is constantly serving other people. Constantly. We all love her dearly (we're a religious community) and have made plans to help her through her chemotherapy every step of the way.

There's the key word.

Chemotherapy.

Ugh.

Now I've done a bit of research on cancer/homeopathic healing in the past and I think natural methods could work for her. I've been reading The China Study and really believe these alternative methods can be effective without poisoning her body. But I haven't gone into major detail on my research. This is where you come in.

First I'd like to know if you guys know anyone personally who has overcome cancer homeopathically, or if you have yourself. Feel free to go into detail.

Second, I want your best articles, studies, books, threads on 30BAD etc regarding naturally healing cancer. Anything she can read that would improve her understanding of homeopathic methods.

I'm thinking of putting together an anonymous package containing this info. I know it may not be enough to change her mind, but she needs to understand all the options. Ultimately it's her choice, and no amount of effort can force her to choose differently. But I don't want to be the one who stands idly by.

She goes into chemo next week. They're starting with her heart. The cancer is in her colon (not sure how that works) but they don't know if it's in the lymph nodes yet.

Please, please if you have anything at all that might be useful, let me know. She has had a tremendous impact on our community and I would hate to see my friend lose her mother. And if you have any advice/experiences I might want to know about, don't be afraid to speak up.

Much love <3 And thank you for being such amazing people!

At my last naturopathic appointment I was told we need to stabilize things in 6 months to a year, at the latest. I have MCAD (mast cell activation disease), which is causing a host of symptoms and sensitivities including IBS, leaky gut, being sensitive most foods and chemicals, hot air, hot water, stress, some forms of excercise, histamine intolerance, salicylate sensitivity, allergies etc. Im only 22 and have been eating loads of veggies for years, rarely eating meat and no rancid oils or anything. I went paleo for a while, anti candida diet, vegetarian, sugar free etc. Its all just gotten worse. Ive tried almost every natural supplement out there and react to most.

To get back to my question, I need some advice on where to start? There are only a few fruits that I can eat without reacting: Bananas, Mangos, and peeled purreed golden delicious apples, and a few dates when blended with bananas or mangos.

I have a hard time with raw veggies unless juiced.

Is there an anti inflammatory protocol for those of us with these issues? I go back and forth between thinking maybe i should try banana island, then thinking maybe it would be better for my body to ease into it more slowly?

If anyone has any advice I would SO appreciate the help :)

How wonderful to find a community of people dedicated to living in true health!

I have been doing RT4 for almost a month now. I eat a mono-meal for breakfast (8-10 bananas or 4 large mangos) then a banana smoothie (8 frozen bananas, 3Tbsp coconuts sugar and lots of water), then a cooked meal (salad with corn pasta or baked potato fries (no oil or salt) or cooked veg with rice with tiny amount of soy sauce). I eat a lot for dinner - 500g of cooked pasta or 1kg potato or 4 cups of cooked rice (always with lots of water (1-2L) after dinner), but sometimes I feel like i want some sweet at night, so i eat about 50-100g of dates or more carbs (i.e. more rice or pasta, approx 100-200g). I tend to eat them like 1hr-2hr BEFORE BED, as i don't really like going to sleep feeling hungry.

So I want to know :

1. is it ok to eat dates (50-100g) or more carbs (approx 2 hrs) after dinner?

2. is it ok to eat a bit more 1-2 hrs before sleep?

3. is it ok to add coconut sugar to my banana smoothie?

4. Another problem is that I have dinner earliest at 6pm (can't really go earlier) and latest at 7:30pm, is that ok?

5. Will these habit slow down my healing and weight loss?

6. What are the ways to speed up healing and detox ? (drink more water, workout more, sleep/rest more)

I really would like to lose some fat/ weight (have already gained 15lbs) and would really like to have answer to these questions, really hope someone could help !!

Hey guys,

I've had a ganglion cyst in my left wrist since I was 10 years old. I dont remember what has caused it. It gets smaller sometimes and then comes back, mostly when I put too much weight on it. Nothing excessive, even doing pushups can be too much.
I really want to be able to do a handstand, cartwheels etc. In order to do this the ganglion must go! Does any of you have experience with healing it on a LFRV diet? I've read online that one of the old methods to get rid of it is to break it with a book. Must hurt a lot! And am hoping diet will help. Have been low fat vegan for 2 years and (high) raw / fully raw for 1.
Surgery is not an option.

Love to you!
<3 Leonie

I had gastritis and severe acid reflux, achey joints, Reynaud's syndrome (basically an auto-immune disease), zero libido and couldn't stop binge-eating. After 2 years on this lifestyle, the transformation is unbelievable...

This has been, hands down, the easiest diet and lifestyle change I've ever made. The fact that I've been able to sustain it over 2 years and want to keep on trucking on, says loads. I tried high fat raw gourmet about 7 years ago and couldn't keep it going beyond 6 months.

How many more things do you think you could heal on 80/10/10? Come check out my new blog and my journey from health crisis to HAPPY!
http://www.realrawnutrition.com/

Here's to all of our supreme health in mid-life!

lots of love,

Anthea

I am struggling with how to approach my friends who are older than I, but very important to me, to shed some light on their health struggles.

One friend is a longtime morbidly obese person who has been a family friend for over 20 years. Her doc is all amped up to start pre-diabetes meds and her idea of healthy eating is chicken instead of pork, low fat cheese instead of full fat cheese. I almost sh*t when I saw her line-up of meds.

Another friend literally just got out of surgery (2 hours ago) to remove an enormous tumor from his colon, intestines, and abdomen. His wife and he are BBQ enthusiasts, but "skinny people," and I almost begged them to watch the Chris Beat Cancer series of videos. I didn't want to be insensitive, and they were so thankful for my help, but I have little faith they will go plant-based, even for recovery purposes.

What do you guys suggest? I have never been militant, and I am quiet about my diet choices unless someone riles me. I feel riled. I don't want to standby idly watching people I care about slip away mindlessly while they have the chance to repair and heal themselves--or at least to try to do so.

Tips?

Hello community :) Tomorrow me and my sister are giving a talk at a local health market where lots of our friends will be! We'll be speaking on Natural Hygiene. The title of our seminar is called Understanding and Exploring the Causes of Health. We will be talking about internal vs external cleanliness, fragmented thinking vs wholesome thinking, asking questions relating to what health is, raw vegan nutrition, lifestyle factors, education on supplementation, preventing and healing dis-ease, etc.. This is my first ever teaching role on this subject and I am very excited! I am a little nervous and I ask that you send us both great confidence and prayers to reach people in a practical loving hearted way so that they receive what we say and leave wanting to learn more!

I'm finally in the position in my life where I've truly healed myself and am continuing to heal on all levels and layers. I feel that it's necessary to give this knowledge and experience back to my loved ones so that they can discover this truth for themselves.

Wow, I feel honored! I'm going to learn as well as teach tomorrow and I can't have asked for a better opportunity to share this lifestyle with others! YAY for fruits and veggies!

Anyway thanks for the support :) Love and hugs to you all

It is so fascinating to me right now. Had I tried to do this years ago, I am sure I wouldn't have been able to. What is different?

1. I am comfortable being uncomfortable now. In the past, I would have overreacted and whined about every change, seeming sacrifice, challenge, what others' say or think about it, gas episode, whatever. Acknowledging that it is temporary, necessary and helpful is KEY. Whether it is temporarily forwarding my mail to the ladies room, or the learning curve of reading information (Graham's book was the utmost helpful step to cutting the learning curve enormously! My sincere gratitude.) Whether it is adjusting to the sheer quantity of food and having the belly go, "you are doing what?!" Whether it is feeling "different" because those around you are not doing what you are doing.... being willing to be comfortable being uncomfortable is a HUGE step to being able to love yourself and stay calm through the process.

2. I am willing to be WRONG. In the past, I would have defended my position and what I thought I knew til the cows would come home, or rather until I "won." Only I would never win, because I never learned something new that could actually HELP ME. A closed mind is the biggest time waster. It alone is the reason I have had half the struggles I have had in life. The stress in needing to be right alone, never mind the arguments and damaged relations, the people I pushed away, the false sense of self esteem and the temporary "fix" of being seemingly superior or self-sufficient. Remember the commercial where the person was walking tilted to the right and someone asked him how his day was going and he said, "I could have had a V-8!"? Well, when I finally am willing to be wrong, and open to a new and better way of seeing life, the world and my body, BOY do I feel THAT WAY! I could have had an open mind.

3. I am willing to run all things I do hear through my own Internal Filter. Being willing to be wrong is great, but falling for everything everyone says is equally disasterous. I truly believe everyone has an internal filter, whether you call it your "gut feeling," your intuition, God, Higher Power, Holy Spirit, Jesus, Higher Self, conscience, whatever. There is in everyone a sense when they hear, see or read it, that something is right.... When someone says something and you feel that it is right, it isn't because they are wordly and knowledgable, but that YOU FEEL IT IS RIGHT FOR YOU. I tune into that. I am open to what I read, hear, see, but I see how it resonates.

4. I am willing to feel my feelings. I used to stuff my feelings. And I did it with food, looking good, and various other ways. But in regard to changing my lifestyle to this way, I feel it is easier now because I have a basic foundation of how the mind works and what my feelings are for. I won't go into it here, because it could fit a book, and I did a talk on this that you can find here. I am cautious in posting links to my talks here as I don't want to use this forum for self-promoting, but I DO want to help as I feel I have been so helped already by the wealth of sharing you have given me, especially FreeLee and DurianRider. (I have probably watched almost every youtube video, giggle.)

5. I watch the self-talk. We think that we are affected by what people think or say about us, but what we are really feeling is how much WE believe what WE are thinking about ourselves. If someone called you a Tree, would you be offended? But you would be offended if you thought that meant you were big. I watch how I talk about myself (even in joking) and how I talk to myself (in my head.) I love myself today. Now, this doesn't mean memorizing affirmations, although they could be helpful, and denying what I really think. I can talk to someone, journal, pray, meditate, process in some way intuitively what my "tapes" are so I can release them and all the power they had from my consciousness. I have been doing this for many years, and my mind is often quite comfy place to be. Peace.

I could keep going...but I am so grateful for you guys, this forum, this lifestyle, God. I felt in my heart to extend it back.

Love and light,

Lisa (in Las Vegas, NV)

She specifically sought us (my sister and me) out to ask us some questions, as raw vegans. She cannot eat nuts, and she is allergic to nightshades and squash, and is severely gluten intolerant. She can only eat bananas every other day because of her kidney disease. She eats a diet high in fruits and veggies and she still eats turkey and chicken, because she's been told she needs some meat for her anemia. she doesn't eat dairy. so basically she is totally ready to commit, she just wants help transitioning because all the other raw vegan things she's seen are loaded with nuts and so forth. i'm really excited to help her out and i'm confident we can. I was wondering if you guys could give me some personal testimonials of healing from these symptoms, and some advice you could give her as someone who has been through it and is thriving. also, any resources you could give me for her would be fantastic. thank you so much!

I'm Amanda. I am 18. I have had digestive problems since I was a very little girl, and I would have to take all kinds of weird drugs because no one understood how simple the issue truly was. when i was 15 i became a vegetarian because I didn't want to support killing animals any longer, but of course it didn't really change me health, except emotionally it made me a lot more positive, at least until the school year started. I was diagnosed with add and adhd, so I was given all different kinds of pills for that as well, at highschool age. I also used and abused alcohol and drugs since I was 14/15/16. I became addicted to my prescription for add, and I started depending on cannabis to get me through things that were hard.

I started taking acid, only a few times, but it completely changed my way of thinking and I would go into the same high school I always had, look around me, and think, "I honestly cannot believe that this is what is, it's just so wack and nonsensical" and I would see everything in this new way, but in a way it was so sad, so so sad, because it wasn't fresh and exciting like being a child, it was thrilling, but it was scary too, like i felt like i had to hold on to the insight or it would slip from out of my hands. i didn't see that what I was seeing WAS me, something that would NEVER go away and had ALWAYS been here.

I had a deeply profound yet unsettling spiritual awakening experience in May 2011, when I was 16, that lasted for over a week when I went a peaceful gathering of hands in a beautiful park on a sunny, hot day that felt so good. As I met so many beautiful souls who I have known eternally, and did yoga in the soft grass with a group of people, I began to discover a vastly infinite pool of awareness and questions and some answers and emotions inside of me. my "normal" consciousness literally shut off, and I connected to something in a grounded yet mad way that's impossible to describe if you haven't experienced it.
I experience visual and auditory sensations that were INCREDIBLE. I heard a constant "OM" and resounding resonating vibrations coming out of everything, and at a certain point I saw the brightest, most brilliant rainbow amber lights pouring out of everything with high intensity, and this was at night-time. It was beautiful and unforgettable.

I didn't go back to my house after I was feeling this way for about 3 days, living outside and sleeping at friend's houses, and then I was staying at a friends house in the suburbs. before this I really had not slept in two days straight, so when I got to her house I immediately fell asleep and slept for several hours, I still don't know how long it really was.. But when I finally woke up, it was an absolutely beautiful day. The sun was shining. The birds sang. I felt good, but slightly anxious, especially because my brain was fried from smoking so much cannabis with the aforementioned friend. So I went outside, and I followed a quaint little road up into a quiet little place with forests and a few houses. I spent a few hours there, it felt like. Who knows how long it "really" was.

But an amazing part of all of this, and possibly the most impactful in the long term on my life, was when I went over to a little green plant, and I listened to her song. I felt her leaves, and caressed them and massaged them for her. So much love was pouring out from this little plant, so much life, so much awareness, so much understanding. And so too, from me poured forth all my love, energy, compassion.. And then, a cop pulled up next to me.

You can imagine what he was thinking. I was crouched there on the side of the road, dirty as all heck, covered in mud and talking to a plant :) He asked me how old I was, my name, what I was doing there, etc etc..I told him the truth. So he took me back to get my things, and my dad picked me up at the police station.

When I got home, my vibration dramatically shifted. I was still in a place of completely altered consciousness, so I could not "think" in the way that people who are at a low vibration do. But I felt a sense of being trapped, of feeling a resistance, but I still felt very light and free at the same time. I was very malnourished, so the first thing I really did when I got there, was grab a ripe avocado, and ate it bare hands style in the sun on my back porch. I still remember how it got all over my hands, and how I rubbed it all over my skin :) it felt goood.

After a few days of being home, but not really being "home", if you know what i mean, I began to feel a little crazy, in a really messed up kinda way, because I don't think i was eating much, and my whole family was afraid of what was happening. I started acting really odd, and I don't remember a lot of what happened, apparently, I talked to myself for 8 hours straight one night while everyone was trying to sleep. and my parents had grounded me, since I didn't come home for a few days, so I felt a pressing need to break and free and get out of the house.

I left the house one night after watching an episode of Avatar where they communicate with the mysterious forest and an episode of Dragon Ball Z about water. It was a warm and wildly windy night. It felt invigorating. I spent a while sitting under and tree and digging up dirt with my hands and meditating, and possibly singing.. Then I began to walk, and for some reason my sex drive was up massively. And I tore of my shirt and left it laying on the sidewalk, and walked the streets topless in some pajama pants :) It felt amazing to feel the warm wind on my bare body, not giving a flying flute what anybody thought about it. somebody yelled "crazy bitch", but i didn't react to it the way i normally would have. then somebody yelled "wanna f****?" And i felt a weird feeling in my belly. then somehow I ended up in the car of a really kind man who gave me a t-shirt to wear so i wouldn't show up bare-breasted at my house in front of my parents, and he took me back to my house. there was a cop there, because my parents had been all worried about me and were looking for me, which was odd because it didn't feel like i had even been gone for that long. they had the most odd looks in their eyes, and said they wanted to take a drive somewhere with me. so i asked if we could go to a park, and they said yes. i asked them to get me a banana, and then we went in the car. it's funny, i opened the banana but instead of eating it, i smashed it and squished it into my belly, over my shirt. it felt really good.

but then, instead of taking me to a park, they brought me to a mental hospital. and so, I got bushwhacked if you know the term. I was put on meds and had to stay there for about 20 days, and then had to keep taking them for a few weeks after. But I knew something was very deeply wrong. I couldn't feel or think or even be, it seemed. Everything felt cloudy and dark and confusing. I was a floating orb in space with nothing to grab onto or feel. So I made the decision to stop taking them and I really had to be persistent because the doctors had brainwashed my mom a lot, and even me in some ways. I began to become addicted to smoking cannabis because I needed to feel something, and to cope with the way the rugs affected my body.

I'm gonna fast forward, even though there's so much else to tell. Maybe another time.
I went to Montana at the near end of that summer, and I remembered so much beauty and joy. I remembered that I COULD be free, and I became really aware of the importance eating all organic. So shortly after we came home, my sister and I became educated about raw foods and I made the decision that I had been putting off, to become vegan, in september/october 2011. I felt so good about this, knowing that I was doing something so good for the whole world and for my body. I started eating a lot more raw foods. I have been (mostly) fully raw since fall of 2012, and I intend to eat all raw for the rest of my life :)

Since learning about the low fat, high carb raw diet, I feel like I have discovered a whole new world! I am transitioning into this and I would love support and advice :) I really really appreciate this website, because it helps me to keep focused on living as purely and happily as possible. my sister and I have recently started a raw lifestyle coaching business and everything in our lives in manifesting at incredible rates. I feel more blessed, lucky, grateful and confident every day!

so, i'd love to talk to anyone who feels up for it :) thanks for taking the time to read all of this, I know it's a lot, but hey, I'm a lot. haha.

blessings and bananas,

amanda

Lets all join together and make a pact to focus our thoughts every day on manifesting certain things, lets make a definitive list, write it and recite it every day.

People here have more powerful consciousness, we MUST use it to facilitate the future of a fruitopia.

I attract manifest and express

Spiritual Liberty

Fruitful Abundance

Harmony

Nature

Healing

My energy goes only to that which is beneficial to me.

(and remember to breathe)

Lets all use the same list to link it and make it more powerful, and lets only use certain specific words, the language we have been tricked into using is a bit ambiguous and dishonest. Lets also keep it a bit terse so it can easily be remembered and invoked of anywhere anytime.

if you wanna make it even stronger, put some positive emotion into it, and visualize:

1. concentric circles attracting, growing light as manifest, and express as outward flowing

2. piles of fruit, and they keep pilin' up!

3. Picture glowing beings moving freely, people going out of bodies, un-restricted movement of luminiferous creatures

4. waves that fit together

5. the jungle!

6. a rejuvenating upward sparkle/whirl that surrounds the being to be healed (you or the planet), think of healing effects in video games, or the use of power ups, like that

7.You observe a forward movement, an O shape appears and pulsates, that it what is good for you, you head directly to it and ignore any possible existence of anything else, you only go to what is good for you.

Do NOT feed the parasites. Ignore them and the misleading thoughts they try to give you, cleverly placing "I" in front of things. "I want a cheeseburger" Oh really? You do? Is that you thinking that or is something feeding pre-constructed concept messages into your cranial interface? Take back your thought processing ability, don't be mentally passive, grasp at the concepts that serve you, do not be controlled by dirty language.

They don't have a connection to source, they have NO energy if we refuse to give it to them, do you know how powerful that is? Now is the time remember, now is the time to reclaim your soul, don't miss out on the prison break, it will be grand.

I'm open to edits and we can "ratify" the official version, I think it should be relatively short, though, for reasons already mentioned, and only the most important things the world needs should make the cut.

It may be a little personal but could be fun to share. I am currently writing up a page on my blog listing how suppressed emotions cause different physical ailments. This is based off the book, the body is the barometer of the soul.

There's quite a large list, which will probably get boring to write out, so I've decided to try and make it a bit more fun and interactive.

So post ANY physical ailment you have, and I will look it up in the book and see if it relates to your life in some way. This is what came up for me.

EYES- BAGS UNDER
-Holding on to old concepts because you are not regrouping what you have done and learning from it all and then giving out that knowledge. When you give out your knowledge, you make it wisdom for yourself.
-Holding on to the concept of not sharing what you know because you are waiting for people to come to you and ask for what you know.
-Holding on to the concept of not sharing because others will know more than you

http://jaddasjourney.blogspot.com.au/p/healing-cause.html
