After drinking about four cups of juice I feel quite satiated and can go a while without feeling hunger again. I've been considering having a large glass, maybe eight cups of orange juice, for breakfast as a meal because I feel so great afterwards and it's so delicious! I suppose I'm just wondering if having a meal that is solely juice is sufficient for breakfast. What do y'all think? I see a lot of raw eaters have mostly juice throughout the mornings so wondering what y'all's take is

I have tried numerous different styles and have made all different dressings (I found a lot of good ideas on the forums here!) but still I find I can eat maybe 3 bites and I am just done. I have always hated salad haha.

So that being said, what is the ideal way to get my greens?

I sometimes make a green smoothie with banana & kale or spinach but I don't like having those every day. but

Something I used to do before I was completely vegan was I would make a green juice in the morning consisting of:

-cucumber

-apple

-celery

-greens (kale/spinach etc)

I don't like juicing much because of removing the fibre and all that..

BUT would this be a good thing to have first thing in the morning maybe as a bit of a boost to get some nutrients in before I start the day? It wouldn't be breakfast. More of a 'pre-breakfast' vitamin shot if you will!

Would this kind of juice have any negative affects? I don't 100% understand the science behind all of this yet.

I have a friend who said she startded gaining all kinds of weight when she started drinking carrotnl juice. At least she attributed it to that. She is not raw but does eat very healthy. So I'm wondering if its true that carrot juice can cause weight gain.? Or maybe it depends on what else your eating or perhaps if its from the store or you juices it yourself. I find no intuitive or "natural physiological urge" for greens, like one does for sugar, they don't taste immediately appealing like fruit does, and I don't feel they are a natural part of our diet really, considering the lack of appeal.

However, I see a lot of good scientific reasons for consuming the greens. My theory is that the fruit, in ideal settings, will provide all minerals and nutrients, but that today this is not the case. Therefore, consuming greens for minerals amongst other things is a good idea.

What about juicing some greens everyday? Since greens are a "supplement" anyways, and it digests way heavier than fruit, wouldn't juicing them be a great alternative? I'm talking straight green juice here, no sugary vegetables or fruit, just greens. I imagine that would be even better than a salad since you dont have to do all that heavy digestion etc...

Any ideas about this?

I made this juice this morning. Found a tomato in my fridge and decided to throw it in for good measure. After I juiced it I noticed it was bad. My juice has a lot of green in it and id hate to waste itI I just wanted to know if it was ok to drink bad fruit. Can it make you sick? I am assuming yes. This one guy I met was a vegan and he would juice old oranges and said its just as good for you. I think if the fruit is bad the nutrients are dying or dead. Can anyone help me out? I love this site and am constantly learning!!! :)

Hello, quick question.

I got into the habit of juicing a gallon of juice in the morning because I work hectic hours and I don't have time to pull out my juicer 3 to 4 times a day. I had been doing this for a while until I read recently that the minerals and nutrients in the juice begin to deplete after you juice, so by the end of the day the juice is very mineral deficient.

Is this true? Does juice lose it's mineral and nutrient content if you let it sit in the refrigerator for a few hours? Or can you juice in the morning and still reap the full benefits of drinking it at night? Also if it does deplete in minerals and nutrients.... how do this happen? Where do they go? Any info would be great!

      Thanks a bunch!!!

               Adam

I am not much of a calorie counter but I would like to start marking them down for a month or two because my brother was curious what I am eating on a daily basis and how many calories I am consuming.

Do you lose many calories when juicing or only fiber? Does the fiber lost have calories? Can I live on a diet of juice? Just wondering :)

       Thanks!

            Adam
