Hi everyone! I've come to banana island to fix lots of digestive issues, constipation and skin issues. I've been rt4 for 6 months and was going great. Have no idea what's caused all of these issues but anyway!I'm wondering a few things, I'm 2 days into banana island now..1- still, no bowel movements ... HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?! I drink 3-4L a day, excercise, sleep well, what's going on?!2- are we allowed greens? I've been having cos lettuce and baby spinach with my smoothies sometimes3- how important is organic? :/... I haven't found anywhere that even sells organic bananas let alone them not costing an arm and a leg! :( I've been just having regular bananas, I buy them really cheap coz they're almost overripe.4- I noticed today a really bad white coating on my tongue! My mouth feels really dry. Is that detox, or candida getting worse ?Any help is appreciated! Thanks guys

Hi!

I am very well informed on all of the benefits of proper food combining and all of the discomforts of improper combining.

However, I still experience some severe pain even when following considerably good guidelines. For example, I will have something like a salad, zucchini pasta, or cooked vegetables for dinner (I keep the ingredients minimal and combine foods of similar groups/very low fat, typically 0 overts) around 8pm and don't even have breakfast until around 11 the next day (I wake up around 8 or 9 and exercise first, I stay very hydrated during this time) which will usually consist of a smoothie (generally 1 fruit and coconut water) or a mono fruit meal. I will still wind up with almost unbearable aches in my stomach that go up into my shoulders and head, I feel absolutely immobile and the first time this happened I literally thought I was dying. The pain generally subsides and depletes within 10-30 mins. I get this every single morning.

On occasion and more frequently recently I will have it throughout the day after meals. For example, I had raspberries for lunch today around 2pm, and I just sat down to attempt to have a snack of a few apples, but after one I was having this pain. I understand that I only waited 3 hours in-between fruits, but I thought the combination was reasonable according to food combining charts and common knowledge regarding water content.

What I do NOT understand, is how I only began experiencing this when switching to a high fruit diet, and I never in my life that I can recall had this issue even when I used to eat fruit constantly, just in addition to other foods. For example, I used to be able to eat something like that chinese orange chicken (very fatty, fried) and finish up with a baby watermelon no less than an hour later and wasn't even aware that that might be something that would bother people.

If anyone can offer their advice, I would appreciate that very much! Unfortunately I haven't convinced my family (I'm 17 & still live at home) that mono-days or prolonged mono eating is acceptable or safe so doing a banana cleanse to maybe heal some digestional issues has not been an option.

Thanks in advance!

I mean, if we can get enough of them or that the oranges they are producing are been exported to other countries such as my own :o

I was wondering, if any of you in here, have any suggestions to where the fruit might be best? And also what fruits will be in season from November to February.

Also, what places in Spain that would be best to stay regards the best fruit quality (organic preferred)

I don’t know much about Spain, So some insights would be greatly appreciated.

Regards Martin from Denmark

I ate them all in one day. The berries were primarily what I ate yesterday. I would love to do this more often, but currently do not have 50$ to slam down my throat everyday. I'm curious as to why I've yet to discover someone eating berry mono meals. Is it for financial reasons or others in which i'm ignorant to? i cant help but to assume that it is entirely nourishing to the cells.

My stomach is so full after 5 bananas that i usually just stop. But by 11am i am RAVAGED. I know from what i've seen from other i should be having closer to 8-10 bananas.

I feel like perhaps i should log my caloric intake in order to manage my hunger better and succeed on this diet, but i have a past of dangerous eating habits and I'm afraid the big numbers will scare me off from this diet and possibly eating all together, and i'll just be leading myself to failure. How do i eye ball how much fruit i should be eating a day? If you were to put it in term of mono meals how many mangos/banana/papayas would i need to eat per meal (these are the fruit that are most common and available to me here)???

But this topic has been bothering me for quite some time, despite PKs great post emphasising the importance of greens, which I truly and wholeheartedly agree with and support. BUT the problem is, the only greens that I've been able to eat are celery, fennel, and lamb's lettuce. I did eat spinach as well for a while, but (I'm not sure if I'm remembering right or not) I read that people with autism shouldn't eat it, so I stopped. Though do correct me if I'm wrong about that with spinach and autism.
I CANNOT (I repeat) CANNOT afford organic nor am I able to grow my own at the moment, given where I currently live. Just as well, the celery, fennel, and lamb's lettuce that I buy end up not tasting as good as usual (in quality). But, like I said, I can't afford organic and I do the best I can.

I'm not here to whine or make excuses, I'm here to state the fact of the matter regarding my situation. I'm a mono-eater (otherwise my digestion is terrible) and I'd be opened to hearing solutions. I have thought of eating greens as snacks in between, but I've more or less stopped snacking, as my meals are larger and that appears to be encouraged in this lifestyle. I have considered trying broccoli raw as my dinner, as I loved it (as all other vegetables) cooked, but since it's a starchy veggie and (according to the raw school link) usually not encouraged/meant to be eaten. Therefore I'm hesitant with the idea.

Please feel free to share tips, advice, personal experiences, etc. I appreciate every feedback. :)

I normally have a bm once a day. This past week I've been off from school and I've had two BMs a day -normally one at 10am and the second at 2pm. That's not even 8 hours apart. Today I barely had one. I had to force it out and when it did come out it was just a small amount. I think it's because of what I consumed today. Mainly it was mono but at the end of the day it was a variety of salads and fruits. But this week I started school and I have no intentions and I even can't poop in public, I just dislike it. Today for real fast I had a few cups of water, like 4 and 8 bananas. Ripened. Lunch I had 7 bananas. A bottle of water. I got home at two and drank like 4 cups of water and consumed another 6 bananas. (I had 26 bananas total today so I might be a little off during the days break-up)For dinner I had a bowl Of salad and 6 or so bananas ( i got a bag f dole "greener selection" salad. ) I saw it in myLocal grocery and it was buy one get one free. It's pretty darn good. It has iceberg, romaine, shredded carrots (I know carrots aren't best for digestion) and red cabbage. Then my father brought home fruit cups (cantaloupe, honeydew, and orange slice, pineapple, strawberry (1), and pineapple). I had two of these small bowls. (I know oranges and those fruitsDon't combine so I saved the orange for later) And right now at night I had another bag of said salad^^Sorry for the long post, but I was just curious as to why I didn't have much a BM today and if my mono meals could be the culprit, even thoughI know mono meals are probably THE best for digestional problems. Thanks :)

When I started Mono eating the pain & acid ended without toxic medications filled with side effects that made my autoimmunity even worse. Oh by the by, the drugs were $108.00 a month! Do any of you suffer from acid reflux? Mono eating at each meal is the only way my esophagus could heal. Thank you 80/10/10

I am turning 25 this week, and was thinking about gifting myself this year a beautiful clean start. I am thinking of doing a mono-banana diet for a while. I have never done mono so I would like to hear from someone who has.

1. Is it difficult to stay on one fruit? Why/Why not?

2. Will this lead to more detox/weight loss?

3. What balances/imbalances might I feel?

4. How long should I do it? Ten days, 15?

5. How do I transition into eating other fruits and veggies again?

6. What else do I need to know that I didn't bring up!

I have a forty pound case of bananas ripening that I am dying to eat, so now is as good a time as ever to start!
