Other fundamental aspects of our lives include a raw-vegan diet, off-the-grid life, self-sufficiency, spirituality (Deep-ecology oriented)....and we are now offering an exciting range of possibillities on our Farms.

The positions available at our permaculture foodforests are manifold. Be it as farm manager, Intern or worker Coordinator, Tour guide, Workshop/course instructor, or just committing to take care of some daily chores on our farm(s).
Would you LOVE to be part of a permaculture project that is at the same time an educational center, retreat and rawfood community? Are you trained and skilled in permaculture and/or forest-gardening? Or - are you an inspired leader - a teacher - and good at working with interns, workers and groups? Do you want to take the responsibility for taking care of our exotic/rare plant nursery? Or how about being committed in the greenhouse, making biochar, or bio-ferments? You may as well have your own ideas and business to contribute to the project with.....Then this might be a once-in-a-life opportunity!
We are also a natural healing and an educational center. So if you have ideas and/or experience in related fields, you may want to contribute your talent to our cause.
At Rawland-, we currently already have some Interns, that are figuring out, if they want to join the project and become community members.
So who feels a calling to this chance should also have interest to live in community and participate in their activities.
If you are a raw family, you may find our other farm very interesting as we have many kids living there already waiting for friends!
We are only interested in bringing in people who are in support of and enthusiastic about raw, vegan, organic food, natural healing and living, and are healthy themselves.

WORKEXCHANGE
This is not a paid job but a symbiotic partnership. All food, lodging, and basic necessities will be part of the exchange... as well as the opportunity to learn and grow with us, help co-create community, and be part of something that is making a positive impact for many lives and for our planet!

If you become our farm manager, we could provide you more then just the homegrown food and cozy housing, but in addition part of income generated by hosting guest and taking care of them. For instance you could give tours on our farms through the wilderness areas or orchads. You may as well have other kinds of ideas to make use the project as a platform of self sufficency. Another opportunity would be to build your very own house on the community land.

Some prerequisits we ask for:
- Mimimum Age of 18
- Able and Willing to wake up early (5 or 6 am) and start participating by 7am
- Positive attitude
- Self Starter
- Enthusiastic Worker
- Healthy (Body, Mind, Heart, and Soul)
- Education and experience in related topics (permaculture, organic gardening, organic farming, rawfood, sustainable living, leadership, etc)
- Desire to live in community with others
- Open, realistic and clear minded
- Honest and responsible
- Cooperative
- Sober - free of addictions to substances and pathological behavior (marihuana, alcohol, tobacco, pharma drugs, street drugs, cooked food, sex, computer, etc.)
- Realistic and clear of mind
- Able to commit a minimum of 9 months - yet we prefer to have someone who wants to work and live with us for the long term...
- Able to commit a minimum of 3 months - yet we looking for someone someone who desires to become a permanent member of our little community
We are now accepting inquiries, resumes, and letters of interest.

We are excited to announce the first 811-Friendly Raw Fruit Festival.

http://festival.811-friendly.net

Come enjoy the best season in the South of Spain. Come for four days to an Andalusian valley known for its well-preserved nature, and its rivers with swimming holes. It will be held on a long weekend at the end of the Summer, with plenty of sun, delicious and abundant tropical and local Mediterranean fruits, and with great like-minded people! What else can one ask for?!

Our Festival is based on the idea of meeting new friends and sharing, in a natural environment, the best local fruits.

The Festival will be held at the beginning of September, when the fig season is at its best, when the melons are everywhere, and when mangos, cherimoyas and guavas are really bursting with flavor. As farmers ourselves, we are able to find the best quality fruit, and fruits that are picked truly ripe.

So, stop wondering, come enjoy the best tropical fruits from Spain, and load up before the winter, while meeting new friends! You can register for the Festival now; search among other people coming to find the ones near you to travel with; or just leave us your contact information, if you are not sure you are coming, but would like to receive updates.

The main fruits available at the festival are:
- mangos (different varieties)
- cherimoyas
- figs
- melons
- guavas
- persimmons
- bananas from Andalusia and Canarian Islands
- papayas from Andalusia
- pomegranates
- avocados (reed, pinkerton...)
- prickly pears
- and many more.

All local, fresh, ripe, never frozen, never irradiated or other craziness you can think of! Straight from the farm!!

http://festival.811-friendly.net

See you there

So... I guess I'm detoxing!I have been in transition for maybe 6 months. Before that I have for many years been living on a mainly plant based whole grain diet with eggs, periodically through the years small amounts of meat but very seldom dairy. I ate my last entire cooked meal 2 months ago (cooked veggies). I have only had tiny bits of cooked veggies and like a teaspoon of rice now and then since.I have fibromyalgia, so I want to se how much this diet can do for my well-being. I'm eating arround 2000 calories (i'm very sedentary bc of my 'condition'), drinking 2-3 L and working on getting enough sleep which is quite the challenge with my daughter waking up at 4 for the last 6-8 months (that is just starting to get better though). My facial skin started to get really bad about 2-2,5 months ago. And then finally last week it began clearing, so I thought that maybe that was it for of me regarding detox. BUT, out of nowhere, about 6 days from now, I started getting sick: very sore throat, deep coughing (with that infection-tasting slime, yum!), TIRED, sore eyes and runny nose (clear mucus), insomnia. I then thought I could start to get back on my feet again yesterday morning after finally having a night where I didn't wake up coughing all the time. But during the day I was out of bed and I got worse again. Out of nowhere my nose got completely stuffed. And I have been blowing it all the time since. This time around, what's coming out is this green stuff, 2x yum.I have been eating very sparingly, and somedays like today only drinking water, tea and OJ. BUT just now I went to watch my family eating, and my dear SAD-eating hubby had prepared this vegetarian dish (after more or less deciding to dump meat, eggs and dairy all together since we watched Forks over Knives the other day, score!!!) So I tasted maybe two tablespoons of prepared veggies, with condimnents and all. First of all I did it of course because it looked and smelled great, and was hard to resist, but I also thought that it might slow my detoxing down a bit which wouldn't be to bad either. I haven't seen this happening yet and frankly I'd rather feel really crappy for a shorter period of time, as this tells me things are progressing.Oh yeah and my period has come two days early. It has improved dramatically in the last 6 months as I no longer lie on the floor shaking a couple of hours on the first day. But I have a feeling this might be a bit rougher on me as periods are a good way to get rid of toxins.Anyhow, I'm really, really satisfied with experiencing this detox phase. I have gone through all kinds of alternative treatments and diet changes in the past and been warned of all sorts of detoxing symptoms. But I have hardly ever felt anything, really. And now... first my skin and then this sickness, its pretty obvious what's going on, and I'm embracing it! Oh and my skin continues to improve day by day.THE QUESTION:I actually have one question (but most of all I just wrote this to share my experience) I have an infrared sauna. What are the opinions on using this while having the symptoms I have? On one hand I'm thinking it can help me get rid of stuff, but on the other hand I'm afraid it will loosen more stuff that my already hard working body has to deal with. So where does the sauna fit in? Of course I would do a more gentle sauna when sick. Thanks for reading my story. I have been on the forum for a while now and just silently learning from everyone else's experience and I can honestly say, that I would have never been able to do this diet change without you guys :)Fruity hugsNina

Yesterday I was at a grocery store in the produce section and I saw an issue of "People" magazine just laying there on the pear display and on the cover it claimed to have pictures of the 100 most beautiful people inside, so out of curiosity I picked up the magazine and quickly flipped through the pages and within seconds of doing this the fragrent scented advertisements for perfumes and colognes hit me so hard that I literally dropped the magazine and felt like I had just sniffed an open bottle of perfume/cologne directly.

I realized at that moment that it has now gotten to the point where I have gotten so sensitive to these kinds of toxins that it would be physically impossible for me to sit down and read something as simple as "People" magazine from cover to cover without getting extremely nauseous and sick to my stomach as a side effect.

How in the world can "People" magazine sell even one magazine (much less millions of them a month) when their magazine has toxic fumes coming out of it as soon as you open it???

I love the fact that I am getting better at being able to recognize when something is toxic and that my body is so quick to let me know that it doesn't want to be around certain things, but I get the feeling that once I move to the tropics and spend a year there I won't be able to go back to the states to visit my family unless I'm wearing a gas mask, and even if I bought a gas mask it would probably have that "new plastic smell" which also makes me sick, so even with a gas mask on I will get sick. lol. I guess that at that point I will have to tell my family that if they want to see me they will have to come to where I'm at.

I don't look at becoming more sensitive to toxins as an "inconvenience", but rather it simply makes me realize that moving to a more natural environment and helping spread the word about cleaner living are far more important issues than I previously realized. I can't spend the rest of my life breathing in disel fumes, second hand cigarette smoke, and other toxins that are very hard to avoid while living in the city that I currently live in and expect to not pay for it in the long run, nore can I simply sit back and not let anyone else know that it is possible (and healthy) to live without toxic products.

The blooddonation was at 16:30, and I was actually getting hungry, but I cant believe that this can be the only reason for such a low result. As a cooked vegan I used to have something like 120/70...

Do you think it could be related to 811 cause of the salt?

1.If you want to release extra weight eat fresh fruits & raw vegetables. Why?

Ø They contain far fewer calories per bite in comparison to cooked food.
Ø Raw fruits & vegetables are more nutritious so your body is less likely to crave for non-nutritious heavy food
Ø Raw fruits & vegetables have a much higher water content than their cooked counterparts which makes them more hydrating.
Ø You can enjoy a lot more food guilt-free!

2.HAVE FUN!

Ø One of the most widely overlooked but a very important factor in keeping fat at bay is to participate in exercise that you enjoy.
Ø Activities like dancing, indoor rock-climbing, adult gymnastics and outdoor adventure racing are all good examples.
Ø Not only do you get a great sweat up, have a good laugh, improve co-ordination and skill but you burn loads of calories as a bonus!
Ø Exercise should be a joy that you look forward to and participate in out of eagerness, not out of guilt.
Ø So get on the internet or phone and find a club near you, join up and like a child does everyday start enjoying life and exercise again!

3.We as humans naturally love sweet food, so don’t deny your cravings, satisfy your sweet tooth with as much fruit as you desire when you are hungry until you are full. So, replace one of your meals this week ( e.g-breakfast) with an all fruit meal.

ØHave a lush fruit salad or a satisfying green banana milk
Ø Fruit is quickly absorbed into the bloodstream then converted into glucose which is the main fuel for the brain and body
Ø Little to no digestion time is needed for fruit so energy is freed up instantly allowing you to get on with your daily activities.
Ø In the hours between 7am & 11am the body is busy eliminating waste so fruit is the best - least energy draining food to be consumed, enabling the body to perform important internal ‘house-cleaning’. Note: Ofcourse eating fruit all day is the goal but if you aren't at this stage yet, eating fruit for breakfast will definitely be beneficial.

4.Get a rebounder! There are numerous benefits to rebounding.

Ø You can get almost as much aerobic benefit as you would receive from jogging
Ø The only thing you miss out on is the injuries commonly suffered by runners: knee injuries, shin splints etc.
Ø Due to a change in gravitational forces that allows greater blood flow, rebounding assists the body in removing toxins out of the system that build up during the day.
Ø It also helps slow the effects of aging, revitalizes vision and reduces stress, not to mention a great way to burn calories!
Ø With a rebounder you can now exercise safely and effectively in the privacy of your own home. Available at your local fitness equipment retailer or browse online.

5.Did you know that taste buds are renewed every 10 days?

Studies have shown that white sugar & cabohydrates share similar addictive properties as heroin & opium.
If you’re struggling to keep away from substances like white sugar, chocolate or any other processed foods that keep you fat…Stop eating them for under 2 weeks and you can jump off that addictive treadmill.

Ø Set a challenge for yourself, start today and for the next 2weeks, stop eating sugar-filled cooked foods,
Ø Make sure you go to nutridiary.com and work out how many calories you need to maintain your current weight, aim for this with sweet juicy fruits.
Ø Replace starchy carbs like breads & pastas with fibre-filled scrumptious salads, vegetable wraps and most importantantly lots of fruit !!!

6. So what type of exercise is the best for weight loss??

The truth is that there are 4 main facets to weight loss which are all very important. The one we will focus on today which is often overlooked or performed incorrectly is weight training. I will give you a little bit of advice which has worked for myself and many others I know.

Ø To maximize your time during a session, instead of isolating a particular body part like body -builders do, work your whole body each exercise.
Ø Compound exercises that incorporate a lot of muscles at any one time consequently burn the most calories, not to mention building a nice balanced shape.
Ø A good example is a squat..

7. Earn your food – always do a little exercise before you eat even if it’s just cleaning or a quick 15min walk. Exercise aids digestion and weight-release.

8. Are you stuck on a plateau?

Well you may just need to start interval training! There are many different prescriptions for interval training out there; personally I began many years ago by starting off with a thorough warm up of walking for about 10mins.

Ø When outside, say in a park, set your sights on a tree about 100metres in the distance then jog or run to it followed by walking for another 100-200metres.
Ø Repeat this throughout your 10mins walk.

You will be surprised at how energized you feel afterwards. Aim to increase the intensity of the run to a sprint or decrease the walking time as you become fitter, and trust me you WILL dramatically improve your fitness and break through that frustrating weight loss plateau. Give it a try on today’s walk.

9.Adrenal fatigue makes weight loss almost impossible. The more ‘stressed’ your body is, the less likely you will achieve your desired results. What factors contributes to Adrenal fatigue?
Ø Stressful traffic
Ø Morning coffee
Ø Stress at work
Ø Sugary carb laden processeds cooked/gourmet snacks or other ‘fastfood’
Ø News that consists of destruction & death
Ø Medication and recreational drugs
Ø High fat diets are probably the most significant factor in adrenal fatigue

A big step in the right direction to help counteract stress would be to cut out coffee everyday this week, I mean cold turkey people! The results will speak for themselves.

10. Create a 'Vision' Board or Book...

Get a new scrapbook or board that you can make into your 'vision/dream' book/board. Dedicate different sections on the board or separate pages in the book to different goals you have and get creative, cut out pictures you like, how you want to look & feel etc, on the facing page write down exactly what you want to achieve in each category. Make it colourful, lots of photos, drawing etc (we want to harness the creative power of the creative mind).

Everyday peruse the pics/drawings & read what you have written - this process intitiates visualisation, once you see it you will believe it!
