A disturbing trend over the past couple of decades is the ongoing proliferation of human trafficking and slavery. It’s well known that de facto slavery conditions exist in a number of industries, such as for children on cocoa plantations in Africa, and carpet, clothing, and electronics factories in India and elsewhere, men on fishing boats in southeast Asia, and millions of women and children in the sex slave trade internationally, including in the U.S. and Europe.

Researchers studying the problem report that there are vast sex trafficking rings throughout the U.S. that prey especially on children, and that the problem is under-reported and difficult to stop due to corruption and profiteering in law enforcement and the courts, as well as in governmental agencies that deal with children.

According to a recent study reported in USA Today, youth and child sex slaves are forced to have sex on average over five times daily and there are hundreds of thousands of adults who are buying sex with children, and who are rarely brought to trial. In a recent case, a man who was arrested was asked about his conscience, and if he felt any remorse for the terrible damage that he was causing children by buying and having sex with them. His response was telling: “I don’t want to know how the sausage is made.”

Years ago, I wrote an article titled “The Most Pervasive Form of Child Abuse” published in the June 2001 issue of VegNews before it was a magazine, contending that being compelled as children to eat the flesh and secretions of animals not only harms us physically, but psychologically and morally as well. With every meal, we’re consuming a narrative of materialism, reductionism, and exploitation of the weak by the strong. The subtext is, “Don’t make the connection.” “Stay shallow and don’t see deeply, feel deeply, or care deeply. It’s just an object: a burger, an egg, a breast, a wing, a piece of cheese.”

We are all profoundly wounded by being born and raised in a culture organized around animal agriculture, which is, at its core, a relentless and ritualized sexual attack on the sacred feminine dimension of life, specifically on females, mothers, and offspring. The core practice of animal agriculture is forcibly impregnating females and sexually abusing and killing the beings who are the result of raping them. This is happening millions of times daily; it’s the hidden dark side of our culture. We are compelled from infancy to not only participate and pay for this, and thus cause this ongoing tsunami of sexual violence, but also to then actually eat it and routinely feed it to our unsuspecting children. This injects them with the same toxins and wounds that have been perverting us and hijacking our awareness for generations now, driving ten thousand years of war and patriarchal oppression.

The wisdom at the heart of world’s spiritual traditions is basically unanimous: whatever we sow, we will reap. How can we ever expect that we as human beings are worthy of a culture that is free of slavery and the sexual trafficking and abuse of women and children when we are enslaving billions of nonhuman animals and sexually abusing the females and their offspring? It’s well understood that all the female cows, pigs, chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, sheep, goats, and other animals who are imprisoned for food and other products are forced into pregnancy on what the industry terms the “rape rack” when they are mere children in human terms. Cutting costs in every way possible, the industry minimizes feed costs by manipulating young females into early pregnancy through drugs, hormones, and selective breeding.

Our efforts to curb and stop human trafficking are merely ironic in the face of the massive industrialized and invisibilized trafficking of animals that pervades and defines our culture. Going vegan and understanding the deep connections between animal abuse and human abuse is a significant contribution to the healing and resolution of the human slavery and trafficking problem that causes untold misery and suffering in our world. Until we publicly proclaim and explain these connections and they become part of our social conversation, we will never make meaningful progress in our quest for justice and respect in our human world. Eating and buying animal foods and products always requires trafficking and sexual abuse of animals, on both small backyard operations as well as on large-scale factory farms. This injustice permeates every cell of animal flesh, cheese, wool, leather, and egg, and screams for our attention, to wake us up from the cultural trance into which we’ve been indoctrinated, and to heal the traumatic wounds that have been inflicted on us by animal agriculture. The vulnerable—animals and children—always bear the brunt of the full fury of our desensitization and delusion.

There is only one way forward. Human liberation is impossible without animal liberation. There will never be any human justice without justice for animals. The fact that in the thousands of pages of writing about human trafficking and sexual abuse of women and children, there is virtually no mention of the propelling force—the massive trafficking and sexual abuse of animals—demonstrates how deluded, indoctrinated, and blinded we are by our culture’s food rituals. It’s long past time to speak up and embody the truth of compassion and justice for all living beings, and for all mothers and all the children of all species, so that we are finally worthy as a species to live in greater harmony on this beautiful and beleaguered Earth.

This Mother’s Day, let’s remember the millions of animal mothers whose babies are stolen and killed to be eaten and used, and let’s reflect on the ongoing trafficking and sexual abuse of men, women, and children in our culture, and discuss these connections with our friends and family. Slavery begets more slavery. Freedom requires us to question the indoctrinated narratives justifying our exploitation of animals, and to do our best to embody kindness and respect for all. We can all contribute our voices and actions and help build the positive future for all beings that is beckoning.

Hi everybody, mostly women.

I got a cobber-IUD up for over two years ago in 2012, and it gave me numbness in my vagina/clitoris. It hurt a lot when I got the IUD up, and I was nearly fainting afterwards. I got the IUD out after 3 months because of the numbness, but it didn't help with the numbness. I am still numb and have a low libido today. I can get orgasm, but it is not like before. I am very sad about it, because before the IUD I was very sexual and had a lot of sex drive and I enjoyed sex. Now I just feel that I am not fully alive. I have had tantra massage and yuni mapping, and the yuni mapping helped and released some tension. I have thought about, that I have some trauma after the pain of getting the IUD up, but now I am not so sure, because I have read about cobbler toxicity and low progesterone because of excess cobbler.

I also got the HPV-vaccine in 2009/2010, which also is filled with cobber, and I stopped with the contraceptive pill before the IUD. So there has been a lot.

After the HPV-vaccine I got breathing problems, and I had that in 4 years; now it is almost gone because of Raw Till 4. I also had tinnitus for 1,5 months (I think it is because of the vaccine and stress). I got acne after I stopped the contraceptive pill; I healed the acne with raw till 4. And now with the IUD I got numb in my vagina/clitoris, and after over 2 years I am still numb. So I have been through a lot, and I just want to be healthy now and have my sex drive and sexually feeling back.

Do anybody have any advice and experience to share, please.

So you are a Raw Vegan and ye feel kinda lonely – because you have become an outsider, a weir-do, in the eyes of the cooked food creatures in your neighbourhood, town or city. You want to stay connected though, stay social, still be part of the crowd, but you are different now, you do not fit the norm any more, so what to do when it comes to relationships?

Ye've been eye-balling this cute blond at the supermarket for months now or lusting for that hunk from salsa class every week during the 45 min. that you share dance moves. But he/she is "one of them" a; Cooked-Fooder, and even worse; a meat-eater!! You are after-all aware that when you start dating him/her that the romantic dinners will become a frequent activity and inevitably the diet will become a conversation topic. You are prepared to be brave and face the disbelieve, laughter, and maybe even criticism that is upon you, but let it all pass-over so that the evening will not be ruined of course, and you do want to give a person also the benefit of a doubt.

But if you happen to like the person coze he/she made you laugh, or for whatever other reasons, he/she turnes out to be quite compatible with you. BUT, how can you, if it becomes serious, share a possible life with somebody who still consumes innocent creatures and so is slowly destroying his/her own beautiful health and also contributing to the destruction of Mother Earth, which you know is in many ways linked to the over-consuming market, the breeding of live-stock and the undiscriminating use of chemicals to protect the valuable food industry, but polluting all our waters, soil, and air.

Of course you will start to educate and share your views because he/she will ask, if things are favourable, coze if your potential new life-partner is not in any way interested in your ideas and views I would say: “get out while you still can”, because let's be honest: 'Life is too short to wast'.

Clearly we have also the option to accept the person for who he/she is and the diet they consume. Many people, I have learned, are fully aware of the health challenges one faces when eating animal products and are also informed about the destruction of rainforests, so that cows have a space to graze, but are just not into saving or caring for the planet. This is a puzzling realization for me personally, but I have encountered these people and I am sure you have as well.

So it is 'Tricky'. Over time many people will become influenced by the truth and will adjust and change for a better planet but there is never a guarantee so you will have to decide what to do. Will you invest time and patience to slowly convert your new love and hope he/she will join your force of light or will you accept the possibility that: “There is no chance he/she will ever change”.

The easy road is of course when you meet somebody that is already on your path but they just have not crossed yet. Imagine the easy flow of energy between you and your new passion. The end of the horizon seems suddenly so very colourful because when your aim is to share a life-path with somebody what better and time-saving scenario exists then when you are on the same 'board' surfing the wave of life, to put poetically.

I must say honestly that this recently happened to myself. I was happy to find one day a wee Goddess in my kitchen assisting me with the creation of a few raw dishes. I will only speak for myself, but the easy flow of energy, as described above, was surely flowing from me to her and back I feel. I felt that we knew one another for some time and already had shared many life experiences together. For me it has always been the rule that a relationship would be founded on a at least Vegetarian diet, preferably Vegan (but she soon would be one anyway once I start to share my knowledge to her). So you can imagine my joy when I met this beautiful 'Raw Soul' that is walking a clear path of positivity and care for the planet and its animals. So this is my point. A like-minded Soul is in any case, whatever it might be, a much better compatibility than a opposition. The saying: “Opposites Attract” is totally incorrect in my view.

A particular diet should of course never really stand in the way of 'Love' of course, but me personally always thinks about time to come. It is well known that certain disagreements always come to the surface in time, if they are really bothering you. Energies always find a way to balance themselves out. Truths always manifest, you cannot run from them.

So each person will have to decide for themselves in how they will deal with the difference in diet and life-style, but again, I have learned, in being in this life for some time, that it is very important for many health rebels out-there that their partner shares the same outlook.

For myself I know that I will and cannot compromise. I feel fortunate that I have found my truth and I am sticking with it. Because when it comes to 'Love and Happiness' I feel that it is important to keep a clear 'Aura', a honest reflection of who you are and with being so a beautiful Soul will eventually manifest, if not in this life-time then surely in the next.

Apparently, it has everything to do with contracting the (primarily pelvic floor) muscles.

I myself have inadvertently experienced it during high-rep core exercises like hanging leg lifts and planks with one raised leg. I knew achieving it that way was possible but was pleasantly surprised by one during a 5-6 mile run a few months back, towards the final mile. No clue how that one came about, as I don't recall doing anything special or feeling any particular way during that run. Just your average fantastic run.

Anyway, my questions are: who out there knows what I'm talking about?? Thoughts?

Hi

For you womyn that have been on HCRV steady a while, have your orgasms gotten better and easier to attain?

I believe so since the body gets leaner and chronic tension in the muscles diminishes. But I am not sure.

Here is the rest of my reasoning:
I think tension in the muscles of the body hinders both the production of oxytocin and ones ability to let go, trust and enjoy.
I think it becomes hard to achieve an orgasm with a body full of tension, then it is also hard to trust, and the orgasms that do come is shallow and forced.

Oxytocin is the trust hormone. When we produce oxytocin we trust the people around us, when we trust the people around us we release oxytocin. If someone is injected with oxytocin they will trust more.

An orgasm requires letting go. And the more you let go, the deeper and better it is, right?
Letting go requires trust. Oxytocin is the hormonal counterpart to trust.
I believe it is hard to let go when you don't get enough oxytocin and your muscles won't let go.

Can you confirm this? Have your orgasms gotten better, deeper and easier?

I understand that for many men it may be harder to discus "male" topics then it may be for the majority of women to discuss "female" topics, just because men tend to bind up their emotions inside themselves and tend to feel uncomfortable discussing many things out in the open, but lately I've been attempting to open up.In the USA, about 80% of baby boys are circumcised, what I consider to be male genital mutilation. I was a victim, and I know many others (most of my male friends) that were as well. In the USA, female genital mutilation was made illegal, but male genital mutilation slips right under everyone's noses. Most Americans are just not educated about the many devastating effects of circumcision. The most obvious is that the foreskin is vital for proper sexual intercourse and is more nerve laden than all of the other nerves in the male body put together (if an intact male's pleasure rating scores a 10, being normal, a cut male's pleasure rating scores 3). Most don't even realize that it's 15 inches of skin being cut off (there's an inner and outer foreskin)! Well, I'm not here to lecture but just to give an idea of this unnecessary and damaging procedure that happens to most boys in America.I'm currently doing manual foreskin restoration to at least restore the general appearance and the gliding action. I'm not afraid to talk about it and usually feel better when I do because it can get really depressing keeping myself closed up. I hope one day to have a boy and leave him the way nature intended!
