Hello everyone!

I'm going into my senior year of high school this September. I've been vegan since fall of last year, and vegetarian for a few years before that. Since around April, I've upped my intake of whole fruits and vegetables. I feel amazing. I've become more fit and stronger, and overall I feel my health has greatly increased.

However, lately I've been getting sick every time I eat cooked food. I tried cutting gluten, which my dad is intolerant of. That helped, but I'm still getting nauseous after dinner. Evidently this is problematic, as I still live at home with my family. I've been eating 100% raw until dinner, which I eat high carb low fat vegan, but cooked. My family is very supportive of my decision to be vegan, and also they've also seen my health increase.

I feel my best on 100% raw. This summer is my opportunity to at least try going completely raw for a week. I'm hoping that after this my parents will let me go raw indefinitely.

Do you have any advice for how I could go about talking about going 100% raw? Like I said, my family is very open to this. My mom is vegetarian, but I'm the only hardcore vegan here. But I don't want to rush into anything with them.

I've already hinted that once I hit college, I'm going raw. But I hope that I can do this before then, otherwise it's going to be another year of nausea after cooked food.

Thanks in advance to any advice. I really need it.

Hey everyone! I came from a restrictive low carb diet and decided to try RT4 because I knew I needed to grow some ovaries and tackle my restrictive eating problem. I was so tired of merely existing and wanted to thrive.

The amount of calories made me very nervous and it was a challenge to trust food again. I gradually increased my calories and now am getting 2000 minimum a day and 3 liters of water. I'm working up to 2500 :). I feel so alive! I love working out, am hitting PR's in running, and I don't feel exhausted after. I'm completely satisfied every day, I get better sleep, and my skin is so soft. I can trust my whole, plant, vegan, high carb food and I can eat as much as I want! I also love it because it's doable and sustainable long-term. I can go out to restaurants and find something HCLF, and I don't feel socially isolated because of my food.

I experienced bloating and digestion upset at the beginning because my body wasn't used to digesting much food at all, and both symptoms went away within 2 weeks. I have eaten RT4 for almost a month and I'm very happy eating this way. I have not gained any weight but that is not what my focus is on. I feel like I'm actually alive and I am happy.

Just wanted to share my experience :)

So I've been going all out on the non-restriction thing, having 10 banana smoothies every morning, another 1,000 calorie smoothie for lunch, and huge bowls of rice and pasta for dinner. My family is part of the whole "carbs make you fat" movement, so every time they see me have these meals, they raise their eyebrows and comment, "That's a lot of white rice..." "You're eating THAT many bananas?" "Wow, you're really going to town, tonight!" etc. Especially the bananas, they tell me how they've read that they're pure sugar, high in carbs, blah blah.

Besides me explaining that pure, natural carbs don't cause insulin spikes because of the fiber in the foods, I also explain to them that humans are meant to live off of plant-based carbohydrates, and that I don't believe humans should limit their intake of fruit any more than a lion should limit his intake of gazelle, or a caterpillar should limit his intake of leaves.

So I eat a lot in spite of their comments, because I'm frankly tired of restricting myself so much. All my life I've been adapting my portion sizes to the people around me, even though I knew those measly meals wouldn't satisfy me. Especially since I'm a woman, but I find myself naturally wanting to eat more than most men eat, so I feel like there's something wrong with me.

There is a little voice inside my head that tells me I shouldn't have such a voracious appetite, that I should have more "feminine" portions, but my under carbed brain allows interrupts and says, "Screw that! I'm gonna eat as much as I want, I am so done with restricting myself and feeling unsatisfied because of it. I don't care if people think I eat a too much, that's none of their business. This is my life, I'm gonna live it to the fullest, and I'm gonna EAT to the fullest!"

So thankfully, I haven't given in to peer pressure, and I don't see myself ever going back to restriction. I'm not gaining weight, so they can't throw any concrete evidence at me against my new eating habits anyway. It'll just be nice when I get the physical results to show them it's actually the reverse!

Has anyone else had any experience with people telling them eating Raw Till 4 will make them fat?

I mostly ate blended bananas and blended apples without the skin during these 7 months because I lost the enamel on my teeth.I have a theory that people who are used to eating cooked carbs can handle them and people who have had a raw diet for a long time BUT have detoxed very well can also handle them, but I am somewhere in the middle where my body is not used to them but it is also not in a vibrant state where it can handle everything because it's so clean.Any thoughts on this? I feel I shouldhsve just started with raw til 4 and done that for several years. Can my body go back to rice and potatoes now? The reason that it concerns me is because I have been involved with communities that maintain that cooked starches become glue in the intestines.

At first I tried eating as much fruit as I was able to get but then during the winter it was really expensive so I switched to eating cooked carbs. From time to time I do eat some fatty products but it isn't that much. Also, I exercise regularly (sometimes I run about 4 km, most of the time I ride bike to school which is about 20km forth and back). I drink about 2-3 liters of water per day, sometimes less.

In fact, I have experienced some changes, for example, I feel better, my hair and nails are stronger. The problem is, my weight haven't changed a bit. I mean, I haven't gained or lost any of it. Sometimes it really pisses me off... That's why I created this topic! So if anyone could tell me what I am doing wrong, I'll be pleased to hear.

Hi!

So I've been following the raw till 4 lifestyle off and on for months. About 3 weeks ago I got serious and have been eating this way consistently.

My concern is this:
I'm tandem breastfeeding my toddler and my 3 month old. I always make an excess of milk.

The last 3 weeks, I've been dizzy and light headed with a fuzzy brain. It feels like I'm not eating enough...like my blood pressure has dropped, but I know that I am because I'm monitoring it via cronometer. I've averaging 3200-3500 calories a day.I usually do 15-30 mins of yoga 5 days a week. It's hard to get consistent exercise with two little ones during the winter.

Here is a typical day for me in the winter:

I eat a massive banana date smoothie in the am that adds up to about 1200-1400 calories or I have a massive dateoraid.

This usually take me a while to eat, but almost instantly, after the first couple sips, I start to feel dizzy.

For lunch I'll have another big smoothie, usually a green one plus 5-6 bananas or pears. It usually totals about 800-1000 calories or I'll just eat 6-10 bananas.

For dinner I'll eat the typical RT4 potatoes, rice, rice noodles, pasta etc etc. It usually adds up to 1300-1400.

I drink a TON of water. Around 7-9 L a day easily. Breastfeeding makes you thirsty. I pee clear.

I have read that the dizziness could be two things..the fat leaving my system and/or the salt leaving my system.

I'm starting to get concerned as I have two little ones to care for all day and I worry about driving and just doing daily activities with them.

Can anyone tell me how long this may last? Can I do anything to ease this?

P.S. I have been eating clean for a long time, but I did have gut problems and I know I had problems absorbing nutrients. When I started to change my diet 7 years ago it was because I was pretty sick. Massive fatigue, debilitating joint pain, headaches, brain fog, skin issues, flu symptoms, bad periods etc. I don't have any of those things anymore, except for the occasional joint pain if I eat something wrong.

Please help!

Hi everyone!

What do you suggest is the best way to transition from eating an 80/10/10 diet to start eating Raw till 4?

I started this lifestyle 7 months ago, beginning with fully raw, then gradually started eating cooked foods at night, but still kept around 3 to 4 fully raw days. I lost weight and later stabilized to a healthy weight. Later on, I started eating Raw till 4 and started gaining some extra pounds, so I decided to go back to a Fully Raw diet for at least a month to try to go back to where I was. Still, I want my body to adjust to eat cooked food at night again. I love Raw till 4 lifestyle and I feel its the best of both worlds! So how would say is the best way to transition so I don't lose what I've gained? Thanks!!!

Hello friends!

I've done a lot of research prior to beginning Raw Till 4, and it's almost a week since I've begun it, but I am feeling the overwhelming sense of doubt flood over me with every little shift and change in my body. I am certainly not used to this, and I'm still worried about vitamin deficiencies such as iron, b12, and D despite having heard countless times why and where these things can be obtained.

As a lot of the women (and men) come to this lifestyle with disordered eating pasts and presents, I too come here wearing my badges of dishonor: calorie-restrictor, weight obsessed, digestively challenged, nut-binger, and hypochondriac. I may have given up the most severe case of calorie restriction 2 years ago, but I would certainly be heading down that beaten path again in no time if it weren't for this lifestyle.

My metabolism in compromised GREATLY, I am still healing from antibiotics given to me in order to eradicate vicious h. pylori, I am jumping head first into this despite having done Fully Raw wrong 7 months prior, and I am more confused than ever about who to listen to and what will keep my body from feeling so ill. I feel like I'm being pulled in so many directions, but I don't know who to follow. No doubt Vegan is important, but I still truly believe there is no one set way of eating for every person. I'm just not sure where to begin, but I have decided to build my base upon RT4 and add gradually until I find what is absolutely right for me.

For now I feel a little lonely in the journey because I have no one to talk to about my specific ailments thus far. I'm a worrier, something I would like to alleviate with time, but I cannot help the fear I am going to have life-threatening symptoms but I have no way of telling -of course, until it's too late and I've ruined my health more.

Gosh, does that make sense? I guess what I'm trying to say is I feel weird, and I would love to hear more about others' first couple weeks going HCRV / RT4.

Forgive my incoherence!

Love and light,

Pip

I have a very small frame (all the women in my family do), and I'm 5'7". I work out three times a week, cardio for 15 to 30 minutes and 30 minutes of weight training, although the weight training is light. I easily eat 2k calories a day. I love bananas, grapes, mangoes and rice, as well as the occasional potato meal (they dehydrate me big time!) and many kinds of tropical fruits, greens, and vegetables. It really looks like I've gained fat on my stomach. I used to have abs, but those are long gone, as well as the muscle definition on my arms and legs. I used to feel good about myself, but now I just feel horrible. I don't have very much confidence because I feel like I'm carting around an extra limb! This is the heaviest I've ever been and I'm supposed to be auditioning for modeling soon. What should I do? I've been messaging and emailing Freelee for months now, but it seems she's too busy to get back to me.

I don't know, I hate having my entire diet consist of stuff that's flown/trucked in.

My list:

Bananas

Apples

Pears

Dates/Dates/More Dates

Squash

Sweet potatoes

Carrots

Add to this list, please!!!!!!

Hi. My name is Katherine and for the past few months, I have been eating a high raw diet with occasional cooked veggies at night. I haven't been eating the recommended daily value AT ALL and my past with an ED and restriction has been the cause for it. Now I am fully committed to eating Raw till 4 following the guidelines. I am just wondering if anyone has experienced (or currently going through) the same situation I am in and what effects you've seen like if you are gaining weight, does it stop and balance out or what your current health is like and maybe tips on how to be able to consume 2000+ a day if that much is even necessary? Please help, I really want to succeed on this lifestyle. I am loving the energy and all of the fresh, ripe and delicious fruit I'm consuming. Thank you!
