Greetings everyone. I'm excited to share with everyone here in tourism my passion of bicycle touring. I've been a cyclist for over 15 years getting my start in BMX, MTB, Road, Bicycle Touring/ Bikepacking. I've traveled a great deal around the globe and always wanted to figure out a way how I can turn my passion into something that can offer value to people. I'm not here to drop a link, but I do encourage you all to PM me if you are interested in guided cycling tours in New York City. I have 4 tours as of now with one that is scenic and leaves NYC for an hour. Bike touring is such a great way to experience a place and it's people. I've been open for business for about 3 months now and received 2 bookings so far. I am working hard at getting more daily. My website is optimized for mobile and other devices for anyone to book anywhere. Anxious to share a link to my website so check it out here... Bike Tours by Manual Pedal where people can book a bike tour.

Hey all!,

I'm new here! I wasn't exactly sure where to start so I figured I'd post here. Psyched I joined up and consider myself a student and teacher of life. My goal is to gain as much knowledge from you all and share mine in return. I first found out about "30 Bananas A Day" from a friend who suggested I check out Durianrider's YouTube channel. I was about a week into my bicycle tour riding racked from New York to California which took me 75 days(you can watch the video here). I was on the path to mastery and needed inspiration which Durian provided. Not only has he changed my perspective on eating but my life. After my trip in 2014 I've been doing the "Raw Till 4" lifestyle and my cycling and overall life has improved.

While I still have many things to work on, I'd like to gain more of a knowledge base around food and what it does for my body and how it can improve my cycling. I have a website which you can check out at Manual Pedal and YouTube channel. I've been biking all my life. My dad said one I picked up my bike I never put it down and he's right, I never will put it down until it's my time. I started in BMX which then led me to track and road cycling. I now do road cycling exclusively and bike touring and bikepacking when time permits.

I can often go off in tangents so to leave on a lite note... I'm really psyched to be apart of this community and looking forward to learning and sharing.

Best Regards,

Dwayne _/\_

Hey y'all I'm building a bicycle and saving some cash to start an epic bike ride from Central California to South America. I have no end goal in mind, I just want to hit the road and stay vegan while seeking out the best fruit along the way. Ideally I want to keep touring around the world for years to come and spread the vegan message. I'd like to volunteer/work on fruit farms along the way and connect with other vegans and fruitheads. I'm thinking about documenting the experience on youtube or some other social media but we'll see how that goes, I'm pretty techno-phobic but I'm starting to change my views on the subject. After following Freelea and Durianrider on youtube I've realized that the internet is one of the best places to spread the vegan message and connect with like-minded people. I'm looking for all the help, tips and advice I can get. A lot of people are telling me that I'll be robbed, killed or forced to eat animal products along the way but I'm not buying into that propaganda. I plan on riding a moutain-bike frame that I'm currently working on and pulling a one wheel BOB trailer. Hopefully I can fit a whole banana box on it :) . I'll be camping out mostly unless I'm invited to stay with kind folks or give in to a cheap motel. I have not much money at the moment and am technically homeless. A big challenge will be raising the funds and continuing to fund the journey along the way while being able to purchase quality fruit. Thanks everyone and I'm so stoked to join the 30BAD community!

I'm all in.

My question is if you do RT4 strictly and follow the guidelines .... eating plenty of calories ... at 52 can you expect to loose some fat? I'd say I have about 20lbs to loose.

Anyone been there done that? I'd really appreciate any tips and insights you'd have.

Also I am travelling from Canada where I live to Israel next week for 10 days and wondered if there were any good travel tips on remaining RT4?

Thanks for your input!

Jacqueline

I have very little experience traveling and have to admit I am a bit directionally challenged. I would really really really appreciate a helping hand! Crashing at a friend's place once I reach Thailand (for no more than 2 days) would help me a lot. This way I can collect myself, get food, and feel a little bit more secure. If anyone is living in Chiang Mai (or anywhere in Thailand at that) at this moment and will be there next year, or will be visiting next June, please let me know if you are willing to take me under your wing for a few days!

Also if anyone will be visiting Thailand next year and you currently live in the Chicago area, please message me! :) I assume a good amount of people will be in Thailand around this time next year because of the Thai Fruit Fest.

p.s if anyone has any useful tips about preparing for Thailand, I would love to hear them!

Thank you!!

She wants me to apply to AAA travel even though I have zero experience in that field. Are there any travel agents here on 30BAD who could share about your experience at your job?

Thanks <3

cg

So I'm a university student and I've been doing Rawtill4 since August, and although it's equipped me with the strength and happiness to deal with everything in my life, finding support in real people in front of me (vs. social media) has been virtually impossible. I'm pretty sure a lot of people out there who are HCLF vegans experience this too! So I was planning to go to the Rawtill4 festival next year, even if I'd have to take a couple of days off classes ;)

I've been having a couple of questions that I'd like answered, but really it's also to hear what the overall experience was like :)

Did anyone go alone? If so, how did you find the atmosphere of the people there?

How did people congregate to go on bike rides/massages etc? I watched a couple of DR's vlogs from Thailand and it looked like a lot of fun. It sounds from DR's advice/tips that people stay in different accommodations, so did people use their phones, or...?

What is the minimum number of days for which someone should bother taking the trip? It's not too far for me, since I'm in Korea, but I've got uni classes so it's 3-4 days, tops, that I can make it.

Most importantly, I would like to hear about the overall experience of hanging out with the people there.

I hope that when summer 2015 comes around, my plans will be set! I'm already saving up for the trip (not that it seems very expensive!) and working on my fitness game :)

I have a bike that I'm keen to take with me.

If you're in that part of the world, have experience with durian in January onwards or fancy joining me I would be grateful for your response!
