So I've decided that I want to get serious with rawtill4 and lately I've been feeling great, I'm getting better at it. But the thing is that I live with my family and it's been pretty problematic. (I'm still not an adult) They're constantly saying me that what I am doing is ridiculous and not normal. Whenever they ask what am I going to have for lunch and I respond "I'm going to have fruit" they make me faces. I REALLY FEEL BAD AND GUILTY AND IT'S ACTUALLY NOT A THING TO BE GUILTY ABOUT. I've shown them all the things that I know and the benefits that a high fruit diet can do to your body. Even heavy pain and flows of menstruation have disappeared! I can't seem to explain this! They're just saying "Oh so you found another trend. Now you're not only vegan but you are an almost raw vegan." And what I say to that is that I've known raw veganism for such a long time I just didn't have the courage to do it because of this reason, so I wouldn't be said things like this for not having cooked food at the table. What should I do? Can you guys feel me? And also do oranges lower body defenses because of the content of arginine? That's what I've been told.... Huh..... Sigh.....

The overall analysis among cross-sectional studies reported significant reduced levels of body mass index, total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, and glucose levels in vegetarians and vegans versus omnivores. With regard to prospective cohort studies, the analysis showed a significant reduced risk of incidence and/or mortality from ischemic heart disease (RR 0.75; 95% CI, 0.68 to 0.82) and incidence of total cancer (RR 0.92; 95% CI 0.87 to 0.98) but not of total cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, all-cause mortality and mortality from cancer. No significant association was evidenced when specific types of cancer were analyzed. The analysis conducted among vegans reported significant association with the risk of incidence from total cancer (RR 0.85; 95% CI, 0.75 to 0.95), despite obtained only in a limited number of studies.

CONCLUSIONS:

This comprehensive meta-analysis reports a significant protective effect of a vegetarian diet versus the incidence and/or mortality from ischemic heart disease (-25%) and incidence from total cancer (-8%). Vegan diet conferred a significant reduced risk (-15%) of incidence from total cancer.

Why am I posting this? Well, it's the first systematic review of vegan studies. And -15% of total cancer incidence is, in Medicine, a total kickass result, no drug could compare. I think the medical world will slowly catch up with the fact that veganism truly is the way forward to prevent a ton of illness. Glad this was published and I hope we get more!

xM

Given that most dates available conventionally in supermarkets are marketed as simply being produce of Israel, when the reality is they are produce of occupied lands. Israel continously fails to comply with international laws regarding human rights, and they destroy the plants and thus incomes of many farmers.

As vegans we should really be boycotting Israeli produce, instead of being so carefree with throwing dates into smoothies or snacking on them without any consideration it seems to the harm that such a product is causing not only to humans but by buying it you are promoting the occupation and all the destruction to beautiful plants that comes with it.

I understand this post was a bit of a ramble, and there is a wealth of information available online if you are interested or concerned about this. But if you can. buy dates that are listed as being a product of Palestine. If you can't and yet claim to be a peaceful, loving vegan then you really shouldn't be supporting Hadiklaim and the occupation.

I'm Marlon. 19, I live In London....

I thought I'd share my story with everyone....

When I was young my mum worked as a chef and we had a relativity good easy life we lived in a nice 2 bedroom house with a garden that she rented, My dad wasn't around that much as they never got on, We went too India a few times and I really enjoyed it "This I'll cover another time" .

My mum fed me from the age of like 0-5 really healthy organic when she could, home cooked meals but not Vegan although a lot of the time they were vegetarian unintentionally but I still ate a western diet just a healthier version I'd eat eggs and drink milk but it was a sort of a little bit of everything never too much of one thing. I was always very active as a young kid living in London played football and loved it three days a week I'd go training and I became a really good goalie (Goalkeeper)

Around this time my mum lost her job and we ended up living in a bed and breakfast for a few months then getting moved too "Temporary accommodation" which basically was a room with a kitchen, toilet and a single bed I slept on the floor for a year or two. I was still a happy kid, my Mum thanks to my grandparents still could afford to pay for my training so I still played.

But at the age of about 11/12 I was playing badminton slipped and landed really badly on my left knee and boom that was it I couldn't walk properly for a month or two and stopped playing football all together. To add to the disappointment the team I played for didn't have an over 13's squad so when I eventually recovered I was 2 years out of the game and had lost all motivation to play I didn't even watch matches anymore.

Secondary school/high school was my next "obstacle" I ended up going to a boys sports college which was just the right place for a 13 year old depressed young man who wanted nothing to do with sport. I didn't get on that well after the first year I started missing school opting to play my Xbox instead hiding away in my room. Funnily enough my path began there in my dark room playing video games to the early hours of the morning, I ended up starting a YouTube channel in 2008 I started to learn how to make videos, basic web code, Photoshop and anything I could get my hands on I was learning.

History documentary's, science anything, The internet had become my school.

Now back to that YouTube channel, I realized that all the tutorials I was watching were really poorly made and quite hard to understand so I started making my own and improving on the other ones I had learned form originally. I quickly started to get feedback more views and lots of subscribers. Meanwhile in my real life I was becoming more and more detached from education I started to get picked on by the other kids and I just completely shut down I would go to school occasionally when I did it felt like a waste of time.

Skip forward to 2009 and I'm about to apply for a YouTube Partner ship this is before all of the networks that you have now and the easy one click Adsense set up. I applied on my birthday and got an email back a few weeks later saying I was in! I was so so so happy, all of my hard work had paid off I didn't even care about earning money from it, all I wanted was the fancy channel banner and the other perks partners got back then.

It was around this time I started working with another kid a year younger than me and we became good internet buddy's I let him make videos for the channel we were sort of business partners but this was my mistake and just as with Football and school something happened which changed everything.

About a year later money became an obsession to my partner he only cared about getting his half of the monthly payments he wasn't making good videos anymore and I was getting fed up. Then to add to my troubles, as I was under 18 the money from Google went into my mums bank account and one month she mixed up my payment with her paycheck and spent the money. I wasn't that bothered about it but my partner completely lost it started threatening all kinds of things like how he would delete the channel and get lawyers. I I even "like and idiot -_-" borrowed money from my family to pay him it was that bad.

I decided I had to do something so I changed every password and recovery question on the Google and YouTube accounts basically locking him out all together. I carried on making videos even offered him some money and said he could still make videos I'd just have to upload them myself but he didn't like that idea. Another 6 months goes by and I'm doing really well I've even had a few company's send me bits of tech to review and almost got a job making videos for a really big YouTuber Chris Pirillo. Then it all stopped one day I couldn't log into the account everything my Google/Adsense Youtube nothing my old partner had hacked me and I lost everything I didn't get the channel back, all of my hard work was gone. Eventually 2 years later I did but by that time I like with my Football had lost all interest.

Boy I'm glad that bits over that was a really strange and challenging part of my life. Be warned more to come though.

After all of that I was still bunking school but not to do anything productive like I was before I started mixing with the wrong crowd and Weed became my new obsession It was a release all of my worry's and bad memory's seemed to float away for a moment every time I smoked it. I became so heavily involved in it It was the only thing I would get out of bed for I had become so locked off, I thought I could control the habit everyone who has had or does have an addiction will tell you the same thing but I just couldn't I was wasting any money I had on it and everyone I surrounded myself with were the same. I felt accepted though like I'd found my place in this world "I clearly was disillusioned" most people can smoke weed occasionally and be fine but I was different It was all I cared for.

Skipping forward a bit, something thankfully something happened though I don't quite remember the moment but one night I just stopped I had a conversation with my old man about it and after that I just didn't want anything to do with it I realized that smoking weed was not getting me anywhere in life and I needed a change.

So after being off it for about a year and a half I began watching cycling videos on YouTube and at the same time got a job working for my Dad's mate, with the money I was earning I decided I was going to get a bike and start riding I wanted to be as fast... no I wanted to be faster than the pro's I was watching on TV. This is the part when I find this crazy Australian fellow on YouTube who says he eats 30 Bananas a day and is "Smashing it up the climbs" I was looking for training advice and came Across Durian's/Harley's channel at that point I had been riding a few months but was not feeling any better. I am about 6ft3 and at that point in time was about 95kg November 2013 I needed to loose weight if I was going to be able to improve myself and this "Crazy" Aussie bloke kept talking about Veganism I knew what it was but I quickly found out how little I really knew about healthy eating. That was it from Jan 1st 2014 I was Vegan I have been ever since I've had a few mishaps eating something I thought was vegan when it actually wasn't but strictly Animal free now for 11 months. I just weighed myself I'm 78kg. I'm fitter than I have ever been I've ridden 7000km so far this year I'm so proud of myself and thankful top all of the people on YouTube Including Harley who I've followed on this amazing journey.

I'll leave some links below to My orginal Youtube channel which is quite embarrassing :D

Also a few other websites I'm sure many of you know already, that helped me out.

My old channel,

http://youtube.com/TechHelpVideos

Stuff that has helped

https://cronometer.com/

http://nutritionfacts.org/

https://www.youtube.com/user/NutritionFactsOrg

http://www.vegansociety.com/

http://www.strava.com/

(Disclaimer) If you read the whole post then apologies for any poor spelling and what not ;)

This is a GREAT READ "by Vegan Publishers, Casey" and I can only hope that others will take heed and be the example for the one and only end result which is, TRUE VEGANISM!

For some, their path to becoming vegan may start out as a similar goal as many other lifestyle demographics, to seek-out new life and new civilisations.... wait a minute... wrong quote [cough-cough], in search of what is optimal nutrition for the benefits of the healthiest diet to support their lifestyle - I know it was for me but, essentially and what I found came wholeheartedly within the first couple of weeks was, to never again want to contribute to the justification and ill harm any living being! for food, material or otherwise - ever again!

For others their paths intention may be the opposite, starting off by wanting "to save the animals and/planet" and then having their end goal being what they consume (through a realisation or otherwise); a stereotypical vegetarian - but that is for another topic and would only be counterproductive to what we want to achieve in concept of this article. Either way whatever the start or end of their path to being vegan will ultimately determine the same end result.

I feel this article almost perfectly emphasises what and how we should be promoting the end of violence towards animals, the planet & people and, it by no means being acceptable - whilst supporting those along the way as their "sponsored companion" so that they can achieve what we vegans already have or are set on the path to achieving.

It'll be great if you guys can provide me with some answers :P

1. When did raw veganism begin?

2. If you've been a raw vegan for more than 3 years, what sort of music do you listen to? can you tell me about your fashion sense and anything else about your lifestyle?

3. What sort of colours / symbols do you like?

4. Are there any particular clothing stores you shop at?

Your responses are very much appreciated :)

Cheers!!

Hi 30baders,

I finished Grain Damage by Dr. Douglas Graham and he had pointed that an acre of orchard can feet 2.5 more people than an acre of grain. I think that it is one good point, but it is not enough to argue with vegans/vegetarians which are thinking that a diet based on cooked and maybe foods from the region are better for their health and environment. I am looking for facts that prove that it is healthier, more ecological and economical to buy fruits and greens in comparison to cooked veganism. I know that you need a lot of resources to get your calories out from grains (transport, cooking, packing) but is it really more ecological and more healthy to buy conventional grown bananas from Ecuador than to cook your organically grown rice from china (when you live in Europe)?

So if anyone of you has any fact with source I will really appreciate that.

Micha

As seen on my blog http://www.michaellanfield.com

Not in any particular order.

1. Multitude of Colours
Yes you got it! The colours mean something. In fact, every colour in the fruit kingdom represents a different antioxidant. Usually the darker and richer the colour is, the riper and sweeter the fruit is. I love all the amazing colours.

2. Living Water
Water from fruits is the best hydration for our bodies. Since our bodies are approximately 70% water, and fresh fruits contain at least 70% water, fruits are a perfect source of hydration. Nothing is as perfect as nature’s best foods. The water in fruits has thousands of amazing properties science and nutrition has yet to discover.

3. Glucose
Glucose, also known as simple sugars or simple carbohydrates is what fuels our cells and tissues. The brain almost exclusively runs on glucose from fruits.

4. Can be Eaten Raw
Fruits can be eaten raw, unlike grains or legumes. And most people abhor the thought of raw animal flesh.

5. Drink Less
Drink less when you eat more fruit. Because fruits contain more than 70% water, you don’t need to drink as much water.

6. Calonutrient Ratios are Perfect
Mother knows best! We get everything from Nature in the right amounts. Not too little and not too much; the right ratio of protein, fats and carbohydrates for our bodies.

7. Taste
I love the taste of sugary sweet fruits and I know you do too. Our bodies love it, nature loves it and so do the animals.

8. Fits Perfectly in my Mouth and in my Hands
Fruits fit perfectly in our little mouths and in the palm of our hands.

9. Very Little Harm Involved
This is probably my favourite reason why I eat fruits. I love the fact that no animal has to die for my meals and that no tree has to be cut in order for me to eat. It is simple; very little harm is done to the planet when I eat fruit. I pluck the fruit off the tree and put it into my mouth. Very simple and very easy to do.

10. Save Time in the Kitchen
It is so simply and easy to eat this way. Peel the banana or cut the melon and take a spoon and enjoy. This is healthy fast food! No more spending hours in the kitchen in a mess with piles of dishes to wash.

11. Stay Slim, Stay Healthy!
Even if you eat unlimited fruits (or course low fat), you will always stay slim and healthy. No need to worry about dieting again.

12. Look Years Younger
Testimonials prove that eating a diet almost exclusively of fruits keeps you looking years younger. In fact I love myself more than ever!

13. Ecologically More Sustainable
Growing fruits is the most sustainable way to heal the planet. Fruit trees use less land, less water and less energy compared to raising animals or other plant foods.

14. Feed More People
Compared to wheat, fruits (average per acre) can feed 250% more people.

15. Fruits Power Cars
Cars can be fueled by the carbohydrates in fruits.

16. Fibre
Fibre cleans our bowels. It also helps protect against obesity, high blood pressure, strokes, heart disease and other illnesses.

17. Stronger Immune System
Fruits are the best protectors against colds and flues. Chances are if you do get sick, it won’t be as severe and it will be gone before you know it.

18. Better Sleep
No more groggy mornings. Sleep peacefully without tossing and turning.

19. Better Digestion
Fruits clean our bowels and aids in better overall digestion. Mono meals are the best. One fruit at a time for cleansing.

20. Naturally Ripens
Fruits usually naturally ripen when you put them on your counter. Wait for a few days or a week and enjoy!

21. Clearer Skin, Brighter Eyes, Better Hair
The living water and other thousand of vital nutrients found in fruits can aid in clearing your skin of acne or other skin blemishes. Smoother skin, brighter eyes and thicker hair.

22. No Body Odour
There is absolutely nothing harmful about fruits, therefore nothing harmful leaves the skins pours. I never use deodorant and shower less and still smell fruity fresh. Testimonials have proven the same results.

23. Toothpaste?
Most fruitarians brush using water and a soft toothbrush.

24. Save Money in the Bathroom
Save money by not buying creams, shampoos, gels and other bathroom junk. These products are also not healthy; they destroy the environment and are a waste of money.

25. Be in Line With Nature
Nature provides everything for us in the right quantities. Be a part of nature and not against her. Love her, feel her and breathe her.

26. Fruits Last a Long Time
Fruits can last for a very long time in the refrigerator or for years in the freezer without spoiling.

27. Plant the Seed and a Fruit Tree Will Grow
Yes that is right! Plant the seed you find in the fruit and it will grow into a fruit tree. This only happens with the right growing conditions.

28. Unlimited Calories
The only diet and lifestyle where you don’t have to restrict your calories. Eat as much as you like.

29. Increase Energy Levels
Run, dance or cycle all day long and have fun.

30. Mental Clarity
Clearer thoughts for a clearer lifestyle.

It is an ethical and spiritual book on animal rights and veganism. A little more about it below.

The Journey to Compassionate Living (now in its 3rd edition) will bring forth the answers to some of the world’s biggest problems facing our planet today. If you want to understand the true meaning of life and why we have so many of the problems we do, such as environmental devastations, famine, pollution, wars, health and economic issues, and how to solve these problems than this book is for you.

What is the real reason behind all these issues? The answer has been hidden and suppressed inside each and every one of us for many years. This book will enlighten you to some of these ideas while addressing some serious ethical and spiritual questions.

Photographs courtesy of Jo-Anne McArther.

Get a Copy Today - Click here for PDF or Paperback version

thank you and peace to all beings!

frontprint_pdf.png

This is a video I made recently, it's a video mashup of a guy talking about how unhealthy and unnatural a vegan diet is, along with footage from the 80 10 10 proof video, showing healthy happy vegans having fun. The best way to poke holes in an argument is to show it up as being patently ridiculous. I hope it works.

The guy also mentions that he disagrees with factory farming, but gloats about eating an "organic" buffalo wing. From around 5:55 in the video there is footage of some 'traditional-organic-grass fed-free range' animal murder, just to help viewers connect the reality of and consequenses of their choices. It's not a pleasant sight so be warned, it's not for the sensitive.

More videos are coming from me so check out my channel on YT and feel free to subscribe, comment, share on facebook etc. I'm gonna 'reconnect' every pro meat vlogger/celebrity out there with slaughterhouse footage. It's my self appointed mission for 2012!

Are we a plague to the planet?

A vicious virus that has turned on its creator?

Is it best to make amends for the harm we have done, by not having anymore

children and letting the human species die out?

Or are we children of the planet? One of its most magical creations that needs

to continue its evolution to a point where it's no longer hurting its creator, rather

living in harmony with it, together as one.

Maybe the solution is not for us to disappear forever. Maybe the solution is more raw vegans

spreading the word about hygienic living. Maybe the solution is more raw vegans

understanding their potential for bringing change to the world. Maybe the solution is more

raw vegans period. Maybe the solution is more raw vegans choosing to HAVE children so

there will BE more raw vegans and it won't be such an unknown lifestyle anymore.

Below is my response to a view that we are viruses to the planet that created us and we

should seek no role in the future of Earth by having no more children.

Hi,

I totally respect your freedom of opinion, but let me spin that last sentence for you the way I think it should fly.

You want harmony for Earth.

You see kids as viruses.

Praying to whistling winds won't change anything.

Changing people's minds will change everything.

Who have the most shape-able minds?

                 Children.

Therefore anyone who sees children as viruses, IS the problem

preventing harmony for Earth; IS the one standing in the way

          of her harmony.

We will find no solutions without creative and logical thinking.

This is not a personal attack on you, just your idea. You need to

change it because children are our future. Look at them as viruses,

and they're gonna notice and act like viruses.

"But I was just saying that as I won't have a child, not that I'll

                       actually treat them like viruses..."

False. You will have interactions with children your whole life,

and the ones you see will know you don't want them around.

More importantly, if people like us in the forum, who I

consider more awake and intent upon good, keep looking

at things the way you just put them, our world will continue

to be overrun by new generations raised by parents that never

woke to the real rights and wrongs. The average person doesn't

know the things we know. Our lifestyles harmonize with Earth.

Our lifestyles bring us lasting happiness and longevity. It

promotes growth both spiritually and physically, scientifically

and metaphysically. Saying we're viruses and choosing to stand

out of the reproduction cycle will do nothing but accelerate the

demise of our planet by making room for more ignorant masses

to raise even more ignorant children. This seems very obvious

to me. However, eating raw also seems very obvious to me and

I didn't become raw until just this summer.

Please try to contemplative the ideas I put in this reply. I see

ability to change one's mind about something, when presented

with convincing evidence, one of the greatest characteristics to

have. It allows us to grow. I don't argue points so that a witness

can declare me the winner. I argue points so I can make more

clear the truth. Often times I learn things I didn't realize before

and adjust my position accordingly. In this case, I win always.

Some people on the other hand argue points just so they can

                     be declared a winner.

Children are ready to be taught the lifestyles that we know.

I love to get my friends and family into this raw vegan lifestyle.

It's fun! And judging by all the discussions in the forum, everyone

else feels the same way! It's like, we see an enormously overweight

person suffering and struggling to get through life and immediately

wanting to run over to them and place this shining crystal of healing

in their hands known as hygienic living. We know all that stands

between that person's suffering and happiness is a change in thinking.

If I, and we, become overjoyed with opportunities like that, just imagine

how magical it will be, handing down this crystal of light to our own

children. As they grow, so too will their shining light, so too will your

shining light, and so too the shining light of our world. Family is magic.

Family shines. Friendship is brilliant. Community is preternatural.

Whether we realize it or not - we are social beings! : ) And thank the

goddesses and energies that we are! What a boring life it would be to live

in permanent contemplation without ever being able to share what we

know with others around us and exchange our conclusions. We grow

upon each other. We are all connected, everything is connected. We make

     the changes.

It is not sin, rather our duty, us in this online community and movement

to produce children - children that are fostered in the light of our inspired

knowledge. Us that know How to harmonize with Earth, us that know How

to live happy and fulfilling lives. You, I, and others here must see how vital

our role is in the success of our future. It is up to us to shape things the

way we dream and know is right. We, in particular, must have children and

we must take our potential for changing the world seriously.

I've been wondering about this a lot lately. As humans we don't need to eat animal products. There are other animals out there that we have captured and breed in zoos, aquariums, etc and they need to be cared for properly. Some of these animals are natural meat eaters. I just emailed Gary Yourofsky about this asking what we should feed animals in zoos and/or sanctuaries. He feels that mock meats and vegan food would be suitable for them. He said that we have no right to be killing animals so we can feed other animals. He also has a section on his website discussing whats wrong with zoos (www.adaptt.org) I would just like to hear some more opinions on this. Do you think this is safe and healthy for these animals? Also, he has a really good speech out on youtube. I believe its still up on Freeleas channel. You should check it out!

Hey fellow LFRVegans, I wanted to share this with everyone as quite possibly the most fool-proof persuasive opener I've ever come across for convincing someone to try the lfrv lifestyle. I was thinking today why so many people have yet to change their lifestyles to healthier ones, given all the scientific evidence supporting the health benefits of a vegan diet. It occurred to me that most people haven't really examined just why they are alive in the first place. The answer is, for whatever reason, their life has value. After all, one could just kill themselves with a gunshot to the head rather than the slow painful death from cancer if they didn't think life was worth living ;D

Jedi Mind Tricks 101

Here it is:

"Do you value life?"

Now, I haven't met someone who says no to this simple question. The next question we should ask is naturally,

"Do you value your own life?"

I find that nearly everyone answers yes to these two questions. From here, we move to the question of improving our lives:

"Are you willing to give up any habits that are lowering the quality and longevity of your life?"

When selling products, a salesperson must appeal to people's values. Anyone who's been trained in sales knows that after getting a yes out of someone, it's much easier to get a yes for a sell. Friends, we are selling a lifestyle when we talk to others about a LFRV Diet. And it is the easiest sell, for it costs them nothing but the effort to change their ways. Who doesn't want a rich, vibrant life? So many habits we find in today's society are self-destructive, and it appears most people are simply unaware of the effects. We need to get at the root of people's ignorance. With this fundamental question, we can address any self-destructive ignorant behavior we come across in our fellow humans. I hope this inspires you to go out and try it. I think you'll be amazed at how easily people open to the idea of trying an lfrv lifestyle. Those that value their life anyway ;D

"History will have to record that the greatest tragedy of this period of social transition was not the strident clamor of the bad people, but the appalling silence of the good people." -MLK, Jr.
