I recently bought a bag of (vegan) cheese cause it was in sale, i thought lets try it, haven't eaten cheese in almost 2.5 years...
I also bought glutenfree bagguette to put it on with lettuce and stuff for a so called healthy sandwhich (which usually isn't healthy since normally there's real cheese and ham on it etc.)
I ate one of those bagguettes with 50g of the cheese after a bowl of rice with beans. (the cheese by the way doesn't smell like it, but it tastes and feels exactly like real cheese)
But now i want to get rid of the last 100g of the cheese with 2 of the bagguettes at once..
Anyway here are the ingredients:
Cheese: drinking water, coconut oil, potato starch, lupine flour, seasalt, natural aroma (vegan), food coloring: turmeric extract.
per 100g:
267kcal
Fat: 22g
-Of which saturated: 19g
Carbs: 18g
-Of which sugar: 0,30g
Protein: 0,9g
Salt: 1,40g
Bagguette: water, 26% corn starch, natural rice sourdough (rice flour, water), 4% linseed flour, apple bran, sunflower oil, rice flour, 3%corn flour, psyllium seed husks, pea protein, sea salt, yeast, thickener: guar gum, xanthan gum, spices.
per 100g
192kcal
Fat: 3,9g
-Of which saturated: 1,2g
Carbs: 32g
-Of which sugar: 0,5g
Fibre: 7,6g
Protein: 3,5g
Salt: 1,38g
In both cases all ingredients are organic.
so besides the probably crappy ingredients that one meal (2 bagguettes (160g a piece, so 320g), and 100g of cheese) contains 5,816 g of salt and 22,84g of saturated fat.
Mcdougall says there's no problem with salt.
How bad is this?

it's like, not ideal to eat all the time, but once in awhile you'll be fine, and if anything it'll benefit you...
you shouldn't like, obsess of stuff like this... you'll go nuts... just try to keep your staple foods vegan, low in salt and fat and do your very best to limit the highly processed stuff like the vegan cheese and meats to like, a once a week affair, if that... Focus on the clean carbs.. white steamed rice or brown rice, pasta with a low sodium sauce, potatoes, etc., etc.,...
I guess you better go to McDonalds :)
Does that mean it's not too bad, or it's horrible, you're gonna die of a heart attack tonight!?
The cheese sounds pretty bad! But the bread is fine apart from having quite a lot of salt. As long as it's vegan you shouldn't worry about eating like this once in a while. I feel like your body tells you when it's had enough junk provided the majority of your diet is healthy
yeah i think i just eat it all tonight so it's gone and then take a hot bath to soak the salt out of there.
