McDougall "Eat 12 Slices of Bread Daily"

hello,

just wondering what your thoughts are on this!!  he is saying eat 12 slices of bread a day and loose 10 lbs this month... i guess if you eat it plain with nothing on it it would work..LOL

  • Ya, I agree, I think he is just letting people know that carbs don't make you fat.  Of course fruit carbs are the primo with all their good vitamins and minerals and water and fiber and nothing bad at all.  But I think his point is a good one over all.

    • Well, yeah I agree, I just wanted to point out that for me it's going to be a very noticeable drop in mental clarity and productivity and overall happiness if I start following his advice.

      He has a good message overall and it'd be great if more people would just eat high carb vegan diet.

  • See, people feel guilty for eating enough bean burritos and rice and ketchup dishes lol! They still think carbs make you fat.

  • Yeah, eat bread and numb yourself out, ruin your teeth and feel like crap and get 10x less productive during the day! LOL
    You will lose weight though! Guess how useful weight loss is for me? I've never been overweight, regardless of diet...

    I appreciate McDougall info however he totally skips some important things like fruit. Makes me wonder if some people are just naturally better at dealing with cooked food or something....
    This is not very helpful to someone like me. I want to feel good and be getting stuff done - not just losing weight...
    • Why do you suppose bread will ruin teeth? Personal experience?

      • Anything so processed would lead to mineral defiencies which would cause bone and teeth problems eventually. At best it might not ruin teeth but you're at a higher risk of teeth problems for sure.

        It's like not backing up your computer data off-site. You might have no problems but you're always at risk and when something goes wrong you just lose it.
        and you won't be able to recover it. Same with teeth LOL


        It's not personal experience because I never liked bread and as a child I always skipped it
        • I remember I used to just lick the fruit jam off the sandwiches my mum gave me at school and throw the bread to the seagulls.

  • I was buying some fruit juice at the gas station yesterday and people watching. It was a public holiday so no shops open and people eating burgers and fries at the big gas station. They had cereal boxes for sale but nobody eating that with fruit juice.

    I remember eating a loaf of bread and jam a day. I didnt buy butter/meat cos I didnt own a fridge at the time. I was eating low fat out of ignorance and then someone pointed it out one day. 'your ripped cos you dont put butter on your toast man! and you always eating rice and soy sauce!'. lol!

    Now I make my youtube videos to appeal to people like myself 15 years ago. If I heard the message, it would have made so much sense.

    I guess I had to make so many mistakes so others could learn from em. 

  • Its true. Look what people put on bread lol! fat, fat and more fat!

    They add fat to most breads even these days.

    Carbs NEVER make one fat, its all the fat that people add to em or eat with em. Who goes to McDonalds and just drinks the coke? Anorexics do. Not fat people.

    Starch is slimming.

    Fruit is the most slimming.
