Vegetarians & vegans more emphatic than omnivoires.

"Results
Empathy assessment

The Empathy quotient (EQ) score was significantly different between groups (p = 0.002). At post-hoc analysis, the EQ score was significantly higher in vegetarians in comparison with omnivore subjects (mean EQ score = 49.5, SD = 8.9 in vegetarians vs. 38.8, SD = 8.1 in omnivore; p = 0.001), and in vegans (mean EQ score = 44.6, SD = 9.8) in comparison with omnivore subjects (p = 0.04) (Figure 1). The difference between vegans and vegetarians was not statistically significant."

There is scientific evidence to support vegetarians and vegans are more emphatic than omnivores.

  • I'm not sure.

I've seen some fellow vegans being incredibly misanthropic.

I've seen omnivores being very helpful with strays and such.

Seen some fellow vegans being very empathetic to animals

Seen omnivores being very hateful towards animals.
Depends who you ask, i guess.

  • Indeed, yet I would prefer to tell on tales of what the old ones would say rather than think on such studies written by random people who spend their time on these sorts of studies. We are few now as we have always been, you see...

It is in stories we learn a single grain of truth. And it is in this story that we learn that man is often callous with the exception of those who would dare to look beyond the darkness and pull from their hearts the truth.

As once there was a man who dared to look into the pond to ask the question, "who am I to take more than what I need or should give and if I were to take how do I know what I am to take or if I should take at all?" and his response was none, yet the heavens that reflected unto that pond shown bright stars as well as his face and then he knew his answer.

    Light,

the brightness that light provides, the brilliant enlightening moment. Like fire, minds learn and create from what they learn and grow. Similarly, warmth is associated with kindness and good nature, which is why fire is so commonly seen as a comfort of home in some cases, yet destructive when unwisely used. It is why we are where we are. Yet without fire there is ice, cold, emptiness, hunger.

Such feelings lead a mind to wander backwards and not see the stars in the heavens, only the black sea that surrounds it. The void is what empties a mind as much as it gives us the knowledge that all things are endless. Some people fear this. Others embrace this and feel as though they are destined to do as they please and forget that the light is a lesson rather than a tool to use. So it is squandered and often times such people are blinded for their negligence until the day they open their eyes and seek the truth within the stars.

Though I'm rather glad that there are people who care to look into the fact that this universe's Elves hold compassion for all things. However, stories have always said us to be such and stories remain until there are no more souls to speak their tales.

    • I appreciate you responding, but just so you know the idea of faith strikes fear into my mind and heart and anecdotal evidence for the most part scares me. Your response was the type of response that made me run away from the raw vegan, vegan, and 30bananasaday community for so long. I'm a science person through and through.
