Just FYI VitaMix is having a sale instant rebate $60.00 bucks off here in the US. It's going on at all online retailers and Costco has the best price of $399.99 - $60.00 = $339.00 for the VitaMix 5300. I just killed my 5200, it only lasted me just over a year because I make tons of banana ice cream every day. I had to pick up another one and this 5300 model is much improved BTW. This is is only valid for another few days until 5/16/2016 i believe.

Your Vitamix died after one year, but doesn't Vitamix guarantee it's blenders for 7 years or so ???
Yes they do offer a 7 year warranty, but Costco has a good return policy it's unlimited in time. I couldn't live a day without a Vitamix so I returned it, I didn't want to send it in for repair who knows what the turnaround time is. The newer 5300 is much improved over the 5200 it's a lot less noisy, has 2.2hp vs 2.0, and the new 64oz compact vessel is much better.
