I told the cashier that I was vegan and she picked up one of my items and said "this has a lot of fat in it, is this how you get your fats?"
Surprised by her discovery, I picked up the package and read:
Calories: 60
Total Fat: 0.0g
Sodium: 0mg
Total Carbs: 14g
Sugars: 2g
Protein: 0g
I asked her where she saw "fat" and and she pointed to the carbs!
I told her that carbs is not fat; carbs is carbs, carbs is sugar, sugar is the fuel that drives 100 trillion cells.
She then informed me that carbs turns to sugar and sugar becomes fat so carbs = fat.
I asked her where she heard such nonsense and she said "my daughter is a dietitian" ^^
"my poor uninformed checkout lady, I wish I had the time so please write this down, 80-10-10...80% carbs, 10% fat, 10% protein"
Her last words were "80% carbs, that's a lot, I'll probably have to substitute it with something"
