I've been doing Green Smoothies full of organic raw goodness since last November. I've exprimented with tons of combinations and passed the tastier recipes on to friends that wanted to try.But - yesterday for the first time, I tried the recipe from Natalia Rose called GREEN LEMONADE! I was worried about all the Romain (a whole head!), but was very pleasantly surprised!Whole-y Goodness, Batman! It was LOVE at first sip!I am trying to lose weight however, any suggestions from ya'll of what Veggies can best assist in that - or should I just continue to do a variety everyday and eventually it will come off? Thanks! was this a juice or did you make it in the blender? if it's a blended smoothie i'd be interested in hearing the recipe
as far as losing weight goes, i don't think you should stick to any particular fruits or veggies per se.. i think it's much more important that you be mindful of consuming overt fats, if at all during this period of weight loss.. if you do decide to include any avocados, etc., keep it minimal and save them for your final meal of the day.. i've lost over a hundred lbs, but it wasn't till the end of my weight loss that i finally came to the culmination of my nutritional research: eating a raw food diet.. so you are on a great path finding the optimal diet already.. i'm very happy for you
yes, I did it in the WONDERFUL BLENDER! Although it is suggested to make it a juice by using a Juicer. However, I WANT that glorious FIBER!
So, I did it in the Blender and it was lovely! Here's the scoop:
1 head of Romaine Lettuce
1-2 Apples (they suggest Fuji - which are currently in store - yea!)
5-6 stalks of Kale (or chard or spinach - I used Kale)
1 whole Lemon (peel, but any pith is good!)
1-2 Tbls of Fresh Ginger (Optional - I did not include it though()
Now - I ADDED fresh Pineapple to sweeten that Lemon up a little bit! This is from Natalia Rose's book Raw Detox.

Or, swiss chard & lemon! Lemons and limes work so well with greens!
