(in the vegan shop Good Store) it's cheaper to get imported german organic apples. We really need to plant more very nice and sweet apple trees in Sweden, with a lot variety. I don't live in the countryside, so i can't have a garden. But really, this is a project to be done, if i move out fr the city, this will be a project. Apple also can be stored really well the whole winter. Anyone knows how long an apple can be stored in a cellar?

Sometimes i can forage apples during the season, i've become sort of an expert to learn the places of "abandoned" apples trees in stockholm: a few trees in Vita Bergen. But the place i find the most is around the University area (stockholms universitet). It's amazing! so many different varieties, textures, colours, juicy, soft/firm.... some are not tasty, but most are nice and some others absolutly amazing!

With the long & dark Scandinavian winter, it is virtually impossible to get sufficient sun exposure and thus the daily dose of vitamin D. Please make sure that you get sufficient vitamin D (D3 or cholecalciferol is the same vitamin produced in the body when exposed to sunlight) from a decent dietary supplement. Vitamin D3 aids calcium abosorption from the colon and plays a vital part in the formation and maintenance of the bones and skeleton.

You're eating the WRONG fruit and veg!"[...]"Another reason our salvestrol intake is so low is our taste for sweeter flavours.Modern varieties of fruit and vegetables are selected for sweetness, which has led to older and more robustly flavoured hybrids being overlooked. For instance, the scientists found that small, organically grown alpine strawberries have 100 times the level of salvestrols of commercially grown (non-organic) strawberries. The tart English Cox ranks significantly higher on the cancer-fighting front than a sweet apple such as the French Golden Delicious."[...]"To boost your salvestrol intake you could take a supplement (available from health food stores). Or, simply increase your intake of the following foods: Fruit: red fruits (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, grapes, blackcurrants, redcurrants, blackberries, cranberries), apples and pears."
