Has anyone managed to find any at all? I'm intrigued to try it but all I can find is it ina can from tescos but it's in syrup so not sure how good that would be?

Hey Lou thanks, yeah i know the area well, i was thinking the shops both sides of the petrol station would have it, i'm looking forward to strolling on by further ;)
You will find it in most oriental stores, mostly packed in a packaged state with the other fruit and veg. To see a whole jackfruit for sale is uncommon though!
There was some in the Asian grocers near me in Old Trafford in about June or July. Quite expensive, but I always try a new fruit if I can, whatever the cost. I seem to recall it tasted a bit like marshmallow or bubblegum.
