Hi,
I've been 80 10 10 with my daughter for about 6 weeks and can't buy enough bananas. Morrisons refused to sell me some very spotty ones and it's quite sad to see them being left on the shelves to sweat and go mouldy in plastic bags because nobody wants them. I hate waste and it looks like there's a lot of it. I want to tell them to take them out of the bags and reduce them for me! Did try but was told they couldn't sell them to me by one guy. Another one did reduce them though, from £1.50 to 44p for a bag. The unbagged bananas are cheaper but always unripe so have to buy those early.
Anyway, the point of this post is to ask if anyone out there knows where I can buy a load of bananas without having the embarrassment of clearing the local supermarket shelf in one go and getting some funny stares to boot.
If not North Wales, then Chester. Do people get deliveries from wholesalers who normally deliver to catering? Please help! :O)

Hi Rachel, I've just joined 30Bad and seen you're post. I'm in Chester, and also wondering where to get fruit in bulk. Seems that the fruit wholesalers are in Liverpool and Manchester. I did think about asking my local greengrocer if he would sell me a whole box of bananas with a bit of a discount. There's also an organic shop so I might ask them too. Thanks, Graham
Yes good idea, I think I need to say something. It seems silly that no one seems to realise that they are ripe and ready to eat when they are throwing them away! Another example of our requirement for clean and perfect looking food. Strange when you think of the crap people eat without thinking about it!
