Costa Rica is the first of the list 'producing' most happy people with least environmental impact! US ranks 114th because of horrible environmental impact! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Happy_Planet_Index

2016 :

www.weforum.org/agenda/2016/07/greenest-happiest-country-in-the-world/

2) Costa Rica is the largest and one of the oldest country without military. The constitution has forbidden a standing military since 1949. It does have a public security force, whose role includes law enforcement and internal security. For this reason Costa Rica is the headquarters for the Inter-American Court of Human Rights and also the United Nations' University for Peace.

( P.S. Wondering WHY is this reason so important?
From http://borgenproject.org/global-poverty/
What would it cost to end world hunger?
$30 billion per year is the annual shortfall to end world hunger. ( UN info http://www.fao.org/newsroom/en/news/2008/1000853/index.html )
How does that compare to other political priorities?
$530 Billion: U.S. Military Budget + $130 Billion: U.S. War Spending ( http://www.defense.gov/releases/release.aspx?releaseid=12652 )

'Stop poverty - the worst form of violence'. - M. Gandhi )

3) Summer all year round. Trees gives harvest 2-3 times/year. (Julian Montinaro 14/02/2015 comment: let's say In southern Canada, in spite of what the delusional locals will tell you about how we have 4 seasons and it's not bad at all, the truth is that we have to endure 9 months a year of varying degrees of cold, meaning we are under thermal stress for the great majority of the year. june july and august are the only months where there is guaranteed warmth, but that should be qualified by mentioning that even in those three months, night time temperatures can fall into the low teens (celsius). the growing season is so short it's a joke. so much of what is grown from seed has to be started indoors a month before the last frost.
fruit here is in season for a mere 3-4 months of the year, is not diverse and is mostly low calorie);

4) Costa Rica currently produces 98.8% of its electricity renewable 73% from hydropower and 13% from geothermal and 11% a blend of wind, biomass, solar. See link in next argument.

5) The country has even more to be proud of. Costa Rica anounced a target to become first renewable country with an unprecedented 100% reliance on renewable energy generation sources by 2021! Want to be part of that? (P.S. 21/12/2018 Update: https://news.co.cr/costa-rica-accumulates-300-days-running-100-on-renewable-energy-2018/78000/

5.2) 28Sep'19 Could you imagine the brass-balls of a nation to ban all use of fossil fuels? As it turns out there is one nation that is planning to do just that - - Costa Rica.

... new President, Carlos Alvarado, made a pledge to do just this during his inauguration ceremony in 2018. "Almost a year later, Alvarado signed a decree [on] February 2019 to fully decarbonize by the year 2050 ... https://interestingengineering.com/these-9-countries-want-to-ban-diesel-cars-very-soon

6) No Daylight Saving Time (DST) changes from 1992 in Costa Rica. http://www.timeanddate.com/time/dst/daylight-saving-health.html

7) Costa Rica taking 0.03% landspace yet has 4-5% of the world's biodiversity and is considered one of the 20 most biodiverse countries in the world. There are 62 native varieties of humingbirds, over 130 species of fish, 220 of reptiles, 1,000 butterflies, 9,000 plants, 20,000 species of spiders and 34,000 species of insects in Costa Rica

8) No water fluoridation like westernalised countries still use: Ireland, USA, Canada, Australia. It's most aggressive acid, known to human flesh they put in water, which mostly pollutes pineal gland (the central gland responsible for other glands also for our ability to connect with Non-physical higher connections.

9) Costa Rica is ranked No.1 in a study of AVERAGE HAPPINESS IN 160 NATIONS 2005-2014 .How much people enjoy their life-as-a-whole on scale 0 to 10. I don't mean custom taxes (they are logical 14%-30%), Problems, that they most of the time won't deliver up to house, If package is taken by Customs for opening, excpect to go to bigger town like 60km away to get it. Then customs will send to bank to pay, where you'll spend 30-60min) , then come back to pick your delivery.

N4) The conservation group Sharkproject International (over 20 organisations) awarded Costa Rican President Luis Guillermo Solís the “Shark Enemy of the Year Award.” The acerbic accolade is given each year to a public figure deemed by environmental groups to have done the most to hinder protections for global shark species...

Solís is the second Costa Rican president to receive the Shark Enemy of the Year Award, following former President Abel Pacheco in 2006

http://www.ticotimes.net/2016/01/31/costa-rica-president-solis-named-shark-enemy-of-the-year

N5) http://www.ticotimes.net/2016/12/16/costa-rica-ranks-one-worlds-dangerous-countries-drivers

N6) There are 192 laws as of 2020 that exempt a series of powerful organized groups from paying taxes. Only removing these exemptions, equivalent would be 5.57 of GDP

N7) The average income of the public sector is three times higher than in the private sector. A situation that, according to the OECD, makes Costa Rica one of the countries with the greatest inequality in the world

Costa Rica sounds great, but I want to continue to Pole Vault and have no idea where. Can someone please help? I am a good vaulter that is going to jump way higher then my current PR of 4.90m. I just need a club, team, group of people, or something so I can continue with my passion. This sport is very expensive, so therefore I do not own my own poles, I would need to be able to borrow poles from the club or whatever it might be. Any suggestions would be great! If this just doesnt seem possible I will have to look to relocate somewhere else. This sport is as important to me as eating the 811lfrv lifestyle ;).

Thanks a ton and take care,

Scott Elliott
