            <content type="html">&lt;div&gt;&lt;p&gt;Hi Guys, an obvious question really considering the site but how do you handle pre/during/post training or racing nutrition?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;My simple formula is big carbs the night before, banana based smoothie in the morning (if I am not going out too early) and dates on the ride. I have a pouch on the cross-bar for speed of access as I take one roughly every twenty minutes.  I don't really have a post ride formula so would really welcome your views on that?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content>

Doesn't sound like much but when It gets to -20 degrees F here it's a bit of a challenge with iced up derailleurs etc.  -- Have a Fatboy with 45 north studded tires and all the right gear to stay warm even when it's below zero so long as I'm riding....  Anyone else in the midwest that rides outdoors throughout the winter ?     I rarely come across any other riders once the temps are in the teens but would love to find out if others are actually riding or if I'm just nuts :)&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content>

A friend of mine suggested I get a bike from Nashbar.com, but I see that they don't sell Giant/Trek/the big names. I'd love a Giant Avail or something similar. Has anyone bought a bike from Nashbar? I've had plenty of bike accidents, smashed out teeth, broken femur, broken wrist but not once hit my head.  The reality is I would be better off sitting at home or wearing a full suit of body armour when riding. Now some folks have said &quot; it's prevention, protection &quot; kind of like a condom, but I disagree. Condoms have a proven safety record, helmets don't.
