I just want to start by saying I completely agree with the HCRV lifestyle and it makes perfect sense. I just have one question... why do I still have acne?? I heard in Ayurveda that bananas worsen acne, but bananas are so good. I have acne on my chin, forehead, and a little on my cheeks and nose. It's pretty much the worst it's been in years! I'm not sure if it's just that fact that I'm new to the diet and am detoxing and need to be patient *crossed fingers* or that the banana story is true... any thoughts?

I had been on birth control from the ages of 18-25. Then I came off because I didn't want to put anything unnatural in my body. About 2 months after being off bc, I starting breaking out badly on my chin. Horrible painful cysts. I went to dermatologists, I switched to a vegan diet, I drank lots of water, I used antibiotics (sadly).. nothing worked. After almost a year of being a hermit and hiding from my friends and loved ones, I decided to go back on bc. it was my last resort. When my skin cleared up completely, I tried again a year later to go it naturally. It worked that time for a full year without breakouts. Then they came back... with a vengeance. Again, i went back on bc out of desperation. This time, I've been off the bc for about 2 months. And now I refuse to resort to contraceptives again. The breakouts are still bad and painful (spreading to my forehead as well as chin), but I'm hoping with 80/10/10, there will be hope. I guess my case is unique in that I've messed with my hormones and I wonder how long they'll take to regulate and if lfrv will help them regulate faster? I'm still pretty new to 80/10/10 but I'm in it for the long haul.

Any feedback from those with experience relating to my situation would be very appreciated.

Exfoliate your face. Abrasives can be too harsh, so try natural AHAs/BHAs like lemon juice or yogurt. (I'm still researching this though.)

Don't pick your acne. It slows the healing process & causes infection & scarring.

Consistently follow these tips & be patient.

The common thread? Letting the body's elimination/detox methods (pooping, peeing, sweating, mucus, relaxing) get out toxins efficiently so you're not overfilled with them. The less toxins are left in you, the less there are to try to leave as acne (or cause countless other problems).

This is the point of natural hygiene - getting out of the body's way so it can heal - & naturopathy - doing no harm to the body.

Please comment below with your thoughts on these tips, & ideas you'd add. This will really help people reading who are suffering with acne :)

peace + sunshine,

joce
