Hello everyone from the MIDWEST!!

Sooo... I don't really know anyone from my area that is 801010 raw/rawtil4 or hcrv… so I was just thinking..

Maybe some people from the Midwest would like to get to know each other and plan to go to the Woodstock Fruit Festival!!

This would be my first year going and i really really want to make it happen.

And it will definitely push e to go if i have others with me :)

Im thinking that maybe we can do some Skype seshes/ conference calls .. you know, let everyone get to know each other before going to the festival in NY.

Hello to all my Twin Cities friends!

I had a wonderful lunch meeting today at a new and VERY vegan-friendly restaurant and wanted to share my experience with you all!

I rarely eat out, but sometimes it's fun and it might be kinda cool to share some fun new places to check out! Feel free to share any fun spots you enjoy!

The place I went to today is called Agra-Culture and there are 2 locations, one in Uptown and one near 50th & France. Really beautiful, trendy place with very delicious food.

And their website is beautiful and very helpful — you can even click the nutrition information link and see how much estimated fat is in each item! :)

Buying Group in Southeastern Wisconsin

Hey everyone,

This is my first post to 30BaD!

I am looking to set up a buying group in Southeastern Wisconsin, a little northwest of Milwaukee. We'd be ordering through Albert's Organics. The minimum order is $400, so having a buying group easily allows us to hit that number on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. (There is no delivery charge to the drop site, thus the $400 minimum order.)

The ordering would be case quantities of produce, for example 40lb boxes of Org Bananas or 38lb of Valencia oranges, or 12x6 clamshells of Blueberries.

Tons of different produce is available, and they have hot sheets for deals.

Hey everyone! If you aren't familiar with RAGBRAI, it is a cycling event that takes place every year in Iowa. The route (which varies from year to year) runs across Iowa from west to east and is to be completed in 7 days.

I've never done the ride before but am considering doing it next year! I figured this forum probably has a good share of cycling enthusiasts :D so is there anyone else out there who's thinking of doing the ride next year? I have yet to meet anyone in my area who follows this lifestyle and feel like RAGBRAI would be an awesome opportunity to get some of us together!

Looking for someone to relate to near Indianapolis

In May I am moving to Indianapolis to peruse post-college life as an "adult". I grew up in Washington, am currently in college in Florida, and pretty nervous about the transition. I have most everything set up but is there anyone in Indianapolis who knows some great spots to get mass amounts of fruit. I interned in Indianapolis last summer and was pretty disappointed in the farmers markets. I usually just ended up at Costco instead which is ok, except their organic fruit selection is about as consistent as my major was the first year of school. Anything better?

I've been eating around 3,000 calories a day and I've lost 5 pounds so far! It's been a week! Can't wait to see what another week will bring!

Any suggestions for things to watch or read about would be helpful. I've already stalked freelee like crazy. (Not really, but you know what I mean) and I've seen earthlings. Man was THAT an experience.

I'm a Pentecostal Christian and I've given up all animal products and meat for lent. I would have the occasional day where I'd have a "Vegan day" and have some ice cream or chocolate, since those are my weakness. I'm ready to jump into this head first!

Hi. I'm Rhonda. I'm 50 years old. I'm new here on 30bad, but I've been lurking about. I've not ordered the book 80-10-10 cause my work is scheduling me to travel to Puerto Rico in a week, so ordering it will need to wait until I return. I live in Independence,Missouri, a stone's throw from KC. I attend the Kansas City Raw Food group's pot luck.

This is an exciting path for me. I'm taking the online course with the Rawtarian (might have to put it all on hold due to travel). I'm going to allow my reimbursements for food to pay for a Vitamix. Last year, my reimbursements paid for an Ipad. I travel alot. I stayed in 18 hotels from December 2011 through June 2012. Thought I was settled, now this. I'm glad it's Puerto Rico, I can totally live on bananas and mangos for 2 meals. Then have vegan food for the third, or vegetarian. It should be easy to find. I'm packing my small smoothie blender.

Raw food is entirely awesome.

So, a couple long term 811ers are getting together to eat at Sweet Tomatoes this Saturday. I figured I extend the invite to you guys, too. It would be nice to meet more 811ers in the area.

I plan on making a couple bottles of salad dressing (including some top secret recipes) and filling my TRAY (not plate) with as much salad as I can. If you could bring one, too, that be awesome!

I'm thinking about getting a vid or two of this of us carrying TRAYS of lettuce, wiping out their salad bowls, ect....it's got to be a sight to see, lol.

Hi Midwesterners!

I am moving out of my current apartment this summer and moving into a new one, most likely, in the little Italy area or UIC area of Chicago's west/south loop. I would love to live with other fruity people, even if you're not 100% fruity or very new to it. I just think that if I want to find the AWESOMEST roommates possible, I should look on 30BAD first.

I will tell you some about me: I am a student at University of Illinois at Chicago, in my Junior year. I am majoring in Sociology and minoring in Gender and Women's Studies.I am a free-lance writer and a contracted model, which is how I pay the bills. I have never missed a month of rent, nor paid any bills late. I don't use or eat other people's things and give the same respect I expect to everyone.

I eat about 90% raw vegan every day. I eat probably about 10% cooked food, mostly consisting of boiled potatoes. I am moving towards an all raw vegan LFRV diet, but it seems to be very hard for me during the winter time when ripe fruit is scarce.

I do not own any pets, but am not opposed to people who own pets. I like to run, ride my bike all over Chicago, go for walks on the lake, go shopping for fresh fruit. I spend a lot of time doing homework, reading for class and researching for papers during the school year. I am calm and like to have a calm relaxed living space regularly, but parties are fun too on weekends and such.

I currently live with 2 party animals who are nothing like me in lifestyle, but are a lot of fun. However, i don't want to be kept up at 5am because of their partying anymore.

If anyone is interested, or wants to hear more about me or Chicago or anything, please write here or send me a personal message.

Also, if you have any references or links to other places I can find awesome fruity roommates, I would greatly appreciate them.

Can we please dicuss Kwik Trip Bananas.....

They can be purchased ripe for 25 cents per pound. Not ripe they cost 33 cents per pound. They are grown in Guatemala. They seem to be the short bus bananas lol....no??? Most are slightly deformed, some are so far gone and inedible a helmet would not save them or anyone who comes near them. What is the consensus on quality and taste?
