So the Unites States really only sells one type of banana, the cavendish, but i just read an article it the Wall Streat Journal that Amarica may start selling a second veriety of banana, the baby bananas that are about a third of the size of cavendish bananas, sweeter and creamier.So lets get the word out there, ask your prouduce people at the suppermarkes you go to about them. we need to let the country know that there is a market for more than one type of banana!

I am very new to the lifestyle and know that I have found the diet solution for me! I am loving this! I should introduce myself to the 30BaD community soon but for urgent topic at hand........ FREE FIGS!

Found a guy online who is looking for someone to come pick his ripe figs from his tree in Cedar Mills area. Just bring a bucket and small ladder! With the amount of fruit I am eating daily, I am quickly realizing the need for bulk, discount, good produce in my life! Oh yeah, and free produce is never a bad thing.

Maybe one (or more!) of you wonderful fruity folks would care to join me for an afternoon of fig pickin' good times!

I would like to find the time before the end of this weekend. Maybe Friday? (still need to call the guy) These figs aren't going to pick themselves!

811 Tacoma Rental

Hey Northwesterners!

I live in the Proctor district of Tacoma, WA. IF you have to live in Tacoma, the north end is the place to be. Access to the point difiance trail system, the puget sound, and a nice community of people are all reasons why I am staying put here. I rent a flat in a converted victorian house. It is perfect for my needs and has a back yard to grow veggies and I have planted a few fruit trees as well. The house has 4 units... my idea is to slowly(or quickly!) convert it to a 811 house! There is one unit available that is currently being renovated. It is a beautiful light filled unit great for a couple or more. It is a one bedroom but is very large and would serve two-four people great. If anyone is interested let me know. I believe rent is around $700, which is a very good price for the northend.

Let me know if your interested! While, it is not a fruit orchard paradise, it is a fun place to live.

Where to buy organic near Portland?

I live in the beaverton area and am looking for a better place to buy organic. For the past few months I've been using Costco but most of what they have is not organic. Anyone know of a good place to buy in bulk?

I just found them online today, they have different boxes of varieties and all organic and most is local. Depending on what you all think I'll email them asking what they have to offer people that eat A LOT of fruit :-)

Migration

A handful of us are preparing for a jogging stroller migration. We're currently in McMinnville, Oregon, preparing for a southbound stroll down the pacific coast. If we acquire passports we may press-on by foot or under sail from Encinitas, California.

The jogging stroller seems to be the ideal vehicle for such a journey. I am designing simple ones that can carry variations of cargo, animal friends, plants, children, elderly and/or alterabled.

I am picturing this as similar to the evangelical gypsy movements of past radicals with the distinct difference of being on foot.

The platform we currently embody is composed of meditation, natural hygiene, creative communication, voluntary simplicity, equanimity and equality.

Some information you should know:

1. It is a cash only transaction (there is a debt machine located in the building though, it charges $3)

2. You will have to give him your email so he can send you the list of produce available and the cost

3. It is best to place an order before you go there, since they have to get the order ready for you.

4. When you arrive you will go to the front desk and tell them you made an "will call" order with Omar for produce and she will call him down to help you.

5. They have great produce and I have had a really great experience with them.
