Growing Bananas, Pineapples, and Papayas in Southwest Florida

My husband and I are moving to the greater Sarasota area on February 23rd (two weeks away!!). We'll be renting, so we'd like to plant some quick-producing fruit trees/plants as soon as we get settled in. Does anyone have any advice about growing papayas and bananas in southwest Florida? Does anyone know of any online businesses or local shops that sell young plants? Our experience in gardening is limited to tomatoes (failed), bell peppers (failed--the soil up here in Tallahassee is not the best), basil (yay!), and now some hardy winter kale that is growing like crazy, but we don't eat it (too hard for us to digest raw). I'd be so grateful for some tips and tricks! Or any suggestions of other fruit trees/plants that we could plant in a relatively small yard.

Newbie Here, Hello!!! Palm Beach County/Broward Organic Wholesaler?

Hello Fellow South Floridians, I'm new to the site & just about to start on my 811 journey but have been searching for an Organic Wholesaler in the PBC or Broward County area to no avail.

I figure w/ the amount of produce I will be consuming I want to go organic as much as possible but that will be impossible at Whole Foods prices...I could never afford it.

I live in South PBC and have no problem going North or South, hopefully no further than Ft Lauderdale. With so much produce being grown in FL, you would think this would be easier.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have one of these stores in Davie, I just stopped by on my way home from work. I am sure its not organic. THey had young coconuts $1.95 each already cut down to white part. Sell mangos by the box for almost %50 off a single. They had poms for $.99. They had box price's for many of the items. If your looking for cheap produce this is the place to go. By the way my mango's weren't any good.
