My fruity friends,
I decided to challenge myself to prepare for the cycling to come in Thailand. I've been documenting my progress in a you tube type diary. Link below to day one if anyone is interested (funny on occasions, although I'm not sure if it's suppose to be!!! especially day 3)

I was thinking of doing a kind of Strava challenge starting from June to see how many meters I can climb. In the hope it will be good training to get me up the Mountain I saw in Durianriders Videos.
Anyone else interested? I'm overweight and unfit so I shouldn't be too difficult to beat. I think it would be much more fun if a few people, or more, were taking part. It would be good for motivation. Anyone else taking a bike to Thailand?
My diet (in the traditional sense, I don't do conventional "diets") is mainly raw with good fruit juice (nothing added) and dried dates. I suspect other good dried food will also be included because I've got my eye on some nice dried mango I saw the other day.
29 days until I fly.

wow! That's some climbing. I wish I had some more hills around me, sometimes I just go up and down but that gets boring.
Are you on strava?
That's cool David.
Do you fancy keeping track of your metres climbed for a bit of fun. I must admit, as no one was interested I've just been cycling as normal. There's nothing like a bit of competition to make things more fun.
That sounds great. I'm sure Durianrider will be leading us up all the peaks in the area. For the challenge I was thinking more about pre-Thailand training so a small competition to see who can climb the most in June, so starting on Sunday.
I've don't have any accommodation booked. I thought I would risk it and see what I can find when I arrive. I'm slightly apprehensive about finding a hotel close to the train station in Bangkok when I land but that's probably because I've not travelled that much.
Cool man, My girlfriend and I are taking our bikes and would happily come out for a ride. We're currently going to be staying in the Spa resort some miles out of Chiang Mai but we are now looking for a place to stay closer to Chiang Mai as we're getting mixed reviews about the spa plus its quite a way from the town so getting our daily fruit will be a mission without a car.
