I have been vegan for about 4 years now. My Kung Fu instructor got me interested in the whole idea. I was very resistant, but over time I did my own research and tried it out myself. I felt amazing and I've never looked back. It has been tough to stay on the fruit lifestyle for me. I've been off and on it for a couple years now. When I was on it I really felt like a different person and I want that back. I was working on the oil rigs in Alberta when I was on the raw till four the longest. I had so much money that I could spend $60-70 a day on food easy. It was great. I out-performed everyone I worked with. They were all slamming energy drinks and cigarettes every day to keep themselves going while I would eat a whole watermelon on my lunch break. At first, they all told me I was going to die without eating steak. Eventually, they started asking me for nutrition advice. I know that everyone probably thinks I'm evil for working in the oil and gas industry, but I really felt like I was getting the message across to a lot of people who didn't know what a vegan was. It was tough working Canadian winters outside eating raw food that doesn't warm you up! Next, I spent a year in New Zealand. The fruit was decent, but I wasn't making enough money to afford what I needed to thrive on it. Now, I'm in Vietnam teaching English. The fruit is plentiful, delicious and cheap. Time to get back on the fruit.

I need motivation and tips on how to store/buy/ripen fruit properly. Also, there are some new fruits to me here in Viet Nam and hopefully some other members have experience with them.
