Come immerse yourself into jungle living with us at Punta Mona this September 16th-23rd for the inaugural Costa Rica Fruit Fest. A festival that’s bound to awaken your senses and invigorate your mind, body and soul! Punta Mona is an 85 acre off grid educational center for regenerative design and botanical studies. Located on the Caribbean coast just 15 miles north of the Panama border.
We aim to inspire and empower participants on the benefits of embracing a fruit- based low fat raw vegan lifestyle with a focus on permaculture, community building, and regenerative living.
We want to teach people to connect with where REAL food really comes from ….. the Earth and how to grow their own food in a sustainable fashion.
We will be hosting a wide variety of workshops, talks and presentations on permaculture, food forestry, composting, bio-char, pruning, grafting, urban gardening, bamboo building, farm tours, herbal plant walks, herbal plant medicine making, holistic health, plant based nutrition, regenerative detoxification, iridology, exotic fruit hunting, ecstatic dance, meditation, breathing, thai massage, strength training, yoga, qigong and much more.

The Punta Mona Center for Regenerative Design and Botanical Studies will provide the ideal natural setting: a thriving tropical fruit forest with over 200 species of trees offering fruits, nuts, and spices. Unlike most festivals, this venue is completely off grid and solar-powered and will also provide a significant amount of the festival’s food. All other produce will be sourced from organic farms within the country, around 90% from within 50 miles of the site. That will make for a remarkably low carbon footprint, which will be offset by the planting of hundreds of fruit trees to be donated to local farms.
We are very excited to host this event at Punta Mona!
“Punta Mona’s mission is to provide an alternative to the destructive land use practices taking place throughout Costa Rica and the world. By growing our own food organically, using eco-technologies, and creating a sense of community, we are showcasing and educating learners of all ages and from all walks of life. The ideals of sustainability, conservation of energy and reduction of waste permeate our everyday lives. Our houses are built from local, fallen trees, solar panels provide our electricity and we grow hundreds of species of tropical fruits, vegetables, herbs, medicinal plants as well as bamboo and timber.”
“We are dedicated to teaching environmental awareness through conscious, positive and creative solutions to the dilemmas facing the modern world centering around Permaculture principals. We invite you to come, experience and be inspired by Punta Mona, where you will be immersed in an energy-conscious, off the grid, resourceful experience focused on healthy food systems, freedom of expression and re-learning our inherent life skills.”
“We believe Punta Mona is a unique place and one that has much to teach about the things we take for granted, the power of community, imagination, equality and the beauty of living a simple, intentional life.”
