Hey all! I would love any tips on how you are managing to do your shopping on a budget. I live in a small college town, and live off campus without a meal plan. Right now I am making multiple trips to the grocery store per week and cut it really close with money every month. any advice is appreciated!
Love and blessings!

Hi Erica, I am a grad student in Duluth MN,burrr, who is also on a small budget. I admit I do overdo it sometimes, but most of the time I'm pretty good about staying within my budget. I do most of my shopping at Sam's club and stick to mangos, bananas, dehydrated fruit, and whatever is on sale. This is like what Sky said about buying bulk. Not a lot of variety, but still yummy HCRV foods. I don't have a local farmer's market in the winter, because we haven't gotten out of negative temperatures yet, so sometimes I have to get creative. You also may have to go to several grocery stores to get what is the cheapest. Keep an eye on the prices and monitor what is cheapest where. Try and hitch rides with friends when they go, and keep a list of your immediate needs for that trip, and what can wait for another trip. I don't know if this helps at all, but best of luck, and if you come up with anything really helpful please share.
hit up the asian store. they have mostly conventional produce but some of it is very good quality. The asian store in my city carries alot of the same things as my whole foods but at a very cheap price. Also, instead of buying greens and herbs at the store grow them yourself in pots or raised beds if you have the space. I save a ton of money on growing almost all my greens and herbs and its alot better quality.
Farmers markets and buying in bulk helps me save money. Do you have access to a local farmers market?
