I will post my results for sure. As for the results... I have to share. I am 6'4" and I was up to 310 lbs when I started eating just plants last August. I was big but not real fat so to speak but I was up there and I wasn't feeling well most days and had the general meat eaters sluggishness kind of life. The couple months I lost 50 lbs. but more importantly it was the way I felt. OMG, I was a kid again it felt like. I woke up ready to go every morning, I actually slept during the night, my feet quit hurting, my body just felt so darn good I knew I was on to something really cool. So after the initial weight loss my weight has stayed the same. Not sure why it leveled off there but it didn't matter, I could tell my body and mind were loving what I was feeding them. I'm sure my heart was telling my brain a big thank you! Anyway... I'm coming up on one year and even though I haven't lost anymore weight since the second month, my body is becoming leaner and stronger. My mind is clear and my thinking is so....rational I guess you'd call it. I never thought in a million years I could do without brisket, ribs or steak. But after a while and doing some research like Forks Over Knives or I love nutritionfacts.com with Dr. Greger, I'll never put another dead animal in my mouth the rest of my days. I'll never touch dairy or eggs either. They are disgusting and so responsible for so many of my health issues that never needed to happen. False information about the health benefits of all three are mind boggling. Anyway, that's a different topic for a different forum. Hope I don't get in trouble. I get carried away sometimes. Anyway, good luck on your journey... Hope you can start getting those results that speak for themselves...!
I don't have Hashimoto's disease but I do have thyroid issues. I have been on meds for about two years up until a month ago. I've been on a plant based diet for almost a year and I decided to quit taking meds for my thyroid and have blood work done again without telling my doctor I quit taking them. I feel so much better since I've been eating plants that I really feel as though I don't need to take that pill the rest of my life. So, I'll schedule some blood work here in another month or so and we'll find out. The reason I decided to do it this way is I simply don't trust doctors anymore. All they want to do is prescribe pills and mask the symptoms. I want a cure... Also, I can't find a doctor that will agree with veganism. I hate when you tell the doctor you only eat plants and they look at you like you've lost your mind. Most doctors are so self centered they can't hear or learn anything new. They know it all and a patient surely can't be right! If my blood work comes back normal, I'll be cancelling my insurance too. Sounds silly but I'm totally serious. If I eat plants the rest of my life, I won't be needing any doctors!
