Has ANYONE experienced weight loss eating in this way? I am hitting a wall in my head wondering if this will get me anywhere. I could drop all cooked food and eat RAW to gauruntee weight loss but it may be a little challenging. Not impossible though. So please anyone who has lost weight or who even has been trying for a few years and has not lost please let me know. I'm just trying to find the best lifestyle choice for me to gaurantee long term weight loss.
Thanks.

I find the same thing about blood sugar with caffeine ... one of my formerly "impossible" addictions, but now with the help of LOTS of fruit I've almost completely eliminated it :)
The other thing with caffeine is that it messes with your brain chemistry. I find myself thinking, "Gee, it would be okay to eat ___ cooked [vegan] food!" And coming from a background of bulimia, which has been gradually but amazingly healed by eating raw 811, that kind of thought only leads to binging on unhealthy things.
Personally I would much rather eat plain rice now and then, than regularly consume coffee. Rice may not be optimal but it's not nearly as harmful in my experience.
I definately did lose weight eating like this! 2 years ago when i went raw i quickly went 811, and cooked food did sneak in from time to time. I would eat vegan sushi a few times a week with rice and some fat free salt free corn chips w/ salsa or a little guac. I definately did lose weight this way. Going low in fats and I personally did not ever eat over 2,000 cals. I have done Dr. Grahams calorie calculator and I dont need to eat more then that especially to lose weight. I have not weighed in this time on purpose. I have been having a tough time and am focused on health right now, and i am measuring my stomach and it is shrinking after only 5 days! Try measuring rather then weighing. Scales lie! They are evil! lol.
ps - check out apple@li she is doing this and is having success as well :)

hey Ashlee, I know I've been messaging you but I thought I would just re-post what I put on the HCC forum...
Hey guys! I haven't commented on here before but thought I would let you all know that I have been more successful on cooked food than raw! When I was raw eating 2500 - 3000 calories I was experiencing fatigue, loss of appetite, lack of energy to exercise, back pains, couldn't sleep, stomach problems, terrible gas, weight gain - not fluid gain, ... the list goes on (and for the record I do not believe it was detox) and now just one week of introducing more vegetables into my diet (raw and cooked), eating at a comfortable amount - not stuffing my face trying to jam in those calories and including foods like homemade soup, milllt, quinoa (which my body digst so well!) and tonight legumes all that stuff has gone (well except the weight... thats a working progress) and I actually want to exercise again - and can do it for much longer! today I ran over 10km in 60 minutes (which for me is wow!) when only a few weeks ago 5km was a struggle sometimes.... and can also last longer in weight training... so in conclusion, i think some people just naturally function better with cooked food in their diet so don't be disheartened if you can't go all raw! I am certainly not!!! cheers, have a brillant day!
oh and with the weight loss... my waist was down by 2 cm this morning...lol.. i think the 500g of brussel sprouts i've been eating at night is the secret weapon ;) haha
If you are still eating cooked and starchy foods, your weight loss might be very slow to non existent. Read more about why here:

Peace, PK
I have been doing for about 3 weeks strict, eating a banana smoothie in the morning with some berries, having a huge salad at lunch time and then at night eating potatoes or rice with cooked veggies. I eat lots of potatoes, like 6 or more. On weekends that I am at home I eat also lots of potatoes. I have been running not daily. I have not run for years, so I am not ruing lots perhaps about 20 minutes and really slowly. I can say now that I started to lose weight. I do not eat any oil or any fat except for today that I went to a party and got off the diet.
AT the beginning eating on the scale was discouraging, will lose some weight and next time on the scale was all back again. Now I have lost like 2 kilos. Nothing to be proud of. But trying clothes also, can see that I have lost some weight. Obviously I am building muscle also, so I hope I can continue losing. But as said teh weight loss is slow.
But I heard of otehr peopel that have lots the weight like this. So stick with it. and be patient.
