Im sure most of you saw the thread about profile pics on sign up?
We came to the conclusion that it would be best for potential members to hold up their name on a piece of cardboard with their face to deter any flamers. I think it's a good idea, the member can then change their pic once they have signed up.
I think maybe though that there needs to be a record kept of the user somehow because once they are in they can change face and name.... hmmm how do we do that effectively?

possibly, with this system it would be better if admittance went back to you (except when a mod actually knows the person). there would be more consistency that way too. of course, if you had a couple of assistants that would be fine, but if we have 9 people all letting individuals in, we're going to have a wide discrepancy.
good idea about the label and the pic. it won't stop the spammers, but it probably doesn't hurt to have people work a bit to get in. however, as vv says above, saving the pics is a good idea probably. they should be encouraged to change their pics too upon admittance or you may get people copying other people's pics to get in and that's another reason not to have several people doing this.
anyway, since i'm rather busy with other matters these days, i voluntarily withdraw - though i'm always available when the game is de-admittance. :D

on another note, i didn't get email notification for this topic. for some reason, this group isn't sending me notifications when a new topic is started and it should the way 30badigos does, so this is a bit puzzling.

Im not sure how long this profile pic idea will go, seems to be hard to implement. Some people are still not putting their pic up even though I've requested it in the sign up...
Prad good idea just leave the admittance to me and it will be less confusing for all :)
ya i think it is more consistent that way. of course when you go traveling we can all pitch-in again.
btw, it seems i get notifications from all groups i'm in except this one. very strange! i'll try to look into it further when i get a chance. meanwhile i'll try to drop by every day here to see if there's anything new.
