Hello everyone! I'm just starting a raw vegan lifestyle, and I would like to buy fruit in bulk. Local farmers dont have much variety, and I need things that arent grown in Canada so I figured buying it online would be the best option. Unfortunatley I cant find any sites that ship to Canada. I would really appreciate it if someone could recommend a good supplier, thanks! :)

Oasisdate.com also ships to canada :)
I live in a small town near Belleville. Toronto is too far for me since I dont own a car, thats why I was looking online. I'm hoping to find somewhere that sells crates of fruit and dates, and if I got lucky exotic fruits lol. I didnt think grocery stores would sell in bulk for a cheaper price, I will definatley do that!
You can buy dates here: http://7hotdates.com/shop-can_single.html
They ship to Canada. Having said that, do you have a No Frills or something along those lines? Most grocery stores stack some kind of dates but they might be hidden from plain view.
Also, even if you can't find an Asian market of any sort, most grocery stores will sell you cases/boxes. You have to ask for the produce manager and then talk to them and it shouldn't be a problem. It may not be as cheap as an Asian market / wholesaler but it will still save you some money. So definitely don't be shy and ask them. Also, keep an eye on the weekly flyers that might help as well. Stay fruity!
I don't think many people order fruit online as the shipping costs would be outrageous. I don't know where in Ontario you are but your best bet and first start should be trying to find some Asian markets. There are plenty in the GTA and if you join the FB group Great White North suggested someone could probably make a good suggestion if you told us whereabouts you are located. Good luck!
I noticed you are in Ontario...if by chance you are around Toronto there are lots of places to get stuff. There is a facebook group called 80/10/10ners of the GTA that you can join and find out about frutlucks (potluck with fruit!) and local resources.
Let us know what city you are in and we might have more info!
Cheers,
TT
Hi Angela! I'm sure most of us fruit eating Canucks are eating many fruits that aren't grown here.. I think it's kinda par for the course, LOL. I mostly just go to the grocery store though.. so I guess I am a tad confused about why you would rather shop online? Many average grocery stores will sell you flats of veggies amd fruit at wholesale prices if you ask.. Easy :) There are also bulk/restaurant supply places like Wholesale Club/National Grocer's cash and carry, and Costco. Anyway here are some links:

Lastly, local farmers may not have much variety, but they still have many staples, and it is important to support them if one can ;) Maybe consider looking into CSA's in your area (where in ON are you?)... They usually deliver, too :)
good luck!
