I have a dream to spend my life teaching yoga. My family thinks it is unrealistic. So therefore I'm going to college without any real goal. I'm curious; is it possible to be financially secure if you have a full-time job as a yoga instructor?? In addition, I would also like to work as a personal trainer (no idea how much I could make doing that either).
Any input would be much appreciated! :)

Flipping through any Yoga Journal, you'll see multiple festivals and conferences attended by a host of high level yoga teachers. I'm sure there's nothing special about them or their success, other than the fact that they were willing to work harder than anyone else, and never listened to those who told them it couldn't be done.
If this is your passion, make it so!
Education is a valuable thing to have in your back pocket, as you never know what life will throw at you or when you might need it. Though I do not advocate going into heavy debt to achieve it. Plenty of options now, such as online learning, that can net you a degree for a reasonable fee.
Something like that also gives you the schedule flexibility to continue pursuing your true loves of fitness and yoga. Even if you have to start at the bottom by moping a yoga studio, working your way up over time, hold onto your dream, Mary, and pursue it like a doggie chases its own tail! :)
Thank you so much for the response! This is very helpful, it makes sense to get some kind of an education so I'm not left floundering while I build my yoga career. Also, I really appreciate the support :)
Anytime :)
And lookie here, some schools offer deep discounts or even free tuition in a work trade arrangement:
