Does anyone have any good links or resources or experience with feeding their pet a whole food vegan diet? Where I live in Mexico there are no prepackaged vegan pet foods, but I have access to lots of fresh fruit and veggies and whole grains. I want to make sure my girl gets enough calories and no idea how to customize to suit her nutritional requirements. Any ideas, thanks. I have a black lab.

Hi Harmony Haven! I don't have a pup myself, but I did come across this post today on Facebook and thought of you: 12 Surprising Superfoods For Your Dog. The majority of the list is vegan (ignore the eggs, turkey, sardines and honey of course!). Best of luck! :)
Hi I am feeding my dog a vegan diet I cook it myself. Staples are buckwheat(high in calories!) potatoes, lentils, green peas, carrots, tofu/tempeh, sunflower oil, cassave, cornflower, pasta. But she likes dates, coconut (dried and fresh)and nuts too. She's doing really well on it, before on pet food she was doing really bad, now she has lost lot's of weight and has a normal size again she was almost not able to carry herself before that anymore. She is a rottweiler/cane corso mix so pretty big. Experiment en see what she likes! Mine loves home made lentil cookies and cassave fries
