Aloha, Awesome to be back here after many years! I was a member back when it was 30 bananas a day, i remember celebrating when we hit 10,000 members. Someone put me on "the debate is over" youtube video back then if you want a blast from the past, good times😄! I haven't tuned in for years, just reading the site intro I'm happy to see how things have evolved- very clear, through, and to the point diet advice. I've been vegan for 20 something years now, did about 9 years 100% raw 80-10-10 style for over half that though i probably averaged closer to 20% fat much of the time. Been several years eating some cooked at dinner. Main reason i started eating some cooked was quality and availability of fruits and veggies being poor. Which brings me to my purpose right now and why i rejoined this site. Its been a long and rocky road with lots of twists and turns to learn what i needed to learn, settle my affairs and get my solid footing on the aina here in Hawaii ! My goal is to pursue the full genetic potential of tropical fruit and vegetables through optimal balance of the soil elements! To my knowledge there is no one Putting together the best agronomy systems that are exploding right now in evolution and understanding! Especially when it comes to tropical fruits. Some new estimates show that we are only seeing around 30% potential of our crops and thats talking corn, soy and the like. Commercial agriculture (and much of the organic farming, sad to say)is more and more so creating empty calorie fruits and vegetables by not balancing all the important elements. There is research showing 3× the protein and over 900% more calcium in well nurtured (balanced) crops for instance. This is a Huge elephant in the room with all the nutritional debates going on, it drives me crazy! There can be massive difference from one fruit/veggie to the next. As you probably know, you don't need a lab. To tell you, just use your senses- color/smell/ feel/sound/ and especially taste. Nutrition equals flavor! Did you know that adequate levels of available cobalt are needed in the soil for microbes to form vitamin B-12 or that molybdenum is needed for nitrogen-fixing bacteria to do there work. The sweetest (highest brix) fruit always contains more mineral, protein, and fat (efa's) forming in that order depending on its health which starts from the ground up with the soil. I have the land fully paid just under 8 acres (5 acres cleared) with Beautiful high humus volcanic soil. Already planted many trees- lots of durian and too many others to mention now. Including some ultra exotics like safau/ fijian longan/ junglesop/ and some rare artocarpus😋! Lots of room for more planting! Long story short- I plan to showcase to the world the full potential of the lfrv lifestyle with full potential plants and humans! But i have fallen short with my budget and all the madness in the world right now. The land is wide open with no infrastructure other than a small greenhouse. I really thought people would get highly motivated, take to the land and start working together with all this plandemic bs. I haven't really found it to be happening but maybe im just not reaching out enough. Which is mainly why im here 😄 So Aloha to any passionate, awake, well meaning, follow through people out there. Who feels it knows it! If you enjoy nature, health, purpose, play, exploration, inspiring the world for the better, and meaningful rewarding work- then all i can say is Life's for Living and there's no time but now! Aloha
